After our parents death anniversary, we went here to have lunch. We used to frequent the echague branch way back then. We ordered hot and sour soup, salted fish fried rice, crispy noodles, oyster cake, bamboo shoots with beef, fried chicken and shrimp balls. I wasn’t too happy with the soup. I could remember it was the best hot and sour soup I ever had. Really strong flavors, but now it went a tad short on taste. The bamboo shoots, salted fish fried rice and crispy noodles were just normal. The oyster cake, fried chicken and shrimp balls were a hit in what we ate! My sister even ordered another shrimp balls for take out. Now that feels nostalgic.

1st time to try this place, never thought it was a restaurant when I pass by West Avenue. When I found out it is, I thought it's too expensive so I guess there should be an occassion when I try it.

Luckily, it's our 4th year wedding anniversary yesterday and have not thought of where to go when we passed by Shantung, my husband suggested we try it out. So we did.

We ordered:
Small Prawns with Lemon Butter Sauce and Hot pot Beef stew, Seaweeds, 3 pcs Buchi and Small Yang Chow rice all for 900 pesos.

Small Prawns with Lemon Butter Sauce - it was only for 5pcs, so a little bit expensive. But WORTH IT for shrimp lovers like me. The lemon and butter blends well with the shrimp, it's so TASTY. You'll want more! 10084️🤤

Hot Pot Beef Stew - thought it was too small, but it has a lot of beef on it, price is just right.

Small Yang Chow rice - very tasty, more than enough for 2 people

3pcs Buchi - not a fan, I choose where to buy these. So far I loved it. It's siksik and tasty.

Seaweeds - it's fine, my husband loves it. He's a fan, eh. I am not. But I tried it. There's a "masebo" feeling after taste, but it was okay.

So, this is a MUST try restaurant. It's not too expensive, however not to cheap. But it's worth it with every penny. And no need for an occassion, you can try it out any day.

Oh yay! After 3 days of flu...my taste buds are alive again! 128069128131

Wanted some good old Chinese home cooking so we headed to Shantung! This place has been around for years and the food never disappoints 128512 #feeling nostalgic

* Hot & Sour Soup -- you'll see this best seller on almost everyone's table!
* Fried Chicken -- Another best seller, really yummy with their sweet and sour sauce 128077
* Jellied Pork -- I think they're the only resto to serve this... adobo in jelly form ... my favorite! 128156128156128156
* Salt and Pepper Pork Chop --- so tender and yummy...
* Green Pepper with Beef -- another favorite of ours 128512

The place is nothing fancy, it's actually part home part restaurant and the owners themselves sit on the cashier booth and supervise everything.. Service is quite fast.. pricing is pretty fair... we just paid P900 for all these 128512128077

2 persons .. 4 ulam 1 soup & 1 rice .. busog!!

this is the restaurant where we always went to when i was a kid. but that was in echague (manila).

we ordered our favorite food:
half order of fried chicken .. consistently good quality
pork gelatin .. my friend's favorite
hot & sour soup .. good for 4 but i had 2 bowls and my friend had 3.
pan fried dumpling .. better if you eat it in the resto.
beef ampalaya .. ampalaya that's sweet. must try!! better if pork was mixed.
1 bandihado of garlic rice .. with real cloves of garlic!!

reminiscing the good old days!!

Chicken, dumplings, and shrimp are really good. Other items are soso. Price is nearly incomparably low. Great value! Place is a filipinized Szechuan cuisine.

Shantung. it has been there since I was a kid. i would always see it when we go to my cousin's. And it was just a coupla months ago that I've actually eaten there. Right now I will say I 'Liked' it.. Can't say love just yet since I haven't tried most of the other items in the list. I LOVE their chicken, though. It was just fried chicken so I really don't know how they made it good. I also Love their beef with broccoli. The best I've tasted in Manila. The sweet & sour was good but not one that would stand out above others. Ooh, i am not a fan of almond jelly. In fact, i almost always hate it's taste. But here..? I liked it! First time. There is always a first time! :) We will be back to eat more! :D
