Classic. What started as a food truck and now gradually growing in Manila, you have to try it here because shawarma! I have eaten at this restaurant a few times and I am generally happy with my experience. Two thumbs up!

The menu and recipes were developed by a very skilled chef. The recipes are Persian but the shawarma that they serve was developed to fit the taste of Filipinos.
Wraps were considered the more popular way to serve shawarma in the Philippines but their strategy focused mainly on rice plates. They wanted to be different, thus having the tagline, "A Different Shawarma Experience." Not to mention that Filipinos are predominantly rice consumers.

Here are the dishes that we tried:
-Lamb Steak Rice Meal, "The Bros' Special" with Keema. Instead of serving plain rice, they serve Biryani rice. To complement the Persian taste, they added their own version of mango salsa which would appeal to Filipinos. The lamb was cooked just right, with the right tenderness and juiciness. The keema is also good, and I find their keema better than other keemas I have tried.
-Lamb Steak Wrap Meal. I opened the wrap to check out how much it has inside. I think that the rice meal has more lamb steak than the wrap meal but it's just as good.
-Chili Tomato, Cheese, Garlic Yoghurt. These are the three sauces to choose from. The chili tomato is not too spicy as how I expected it to be, and is good enough. The garlic yogurt works really well with the dishes (this is my best choice); while the cheese tastes good but it did not seem to work well with the rice meal.
-Beef Shawarma Bros - "The Bestseller." The serving is as good as the lamb, depends on your preference. If you are looking for a healthier option, try their Chicken Shawarma Rice plate/wrap.

Last September 13, 2015, I was once again invited me to another food tasting event. This time, it was in the urban jungle of BGC. The subject of our invite was the newest contender in Persian cuisine: Shawarma Bros. The restaurant, came about as the result of the efforts of the enterprising founders composed of Abraham Castro, Gabriel Sobrepena, Joey Reyes, Rammy de Claro, and Paolo Layug, all of whom are graduates of the Ateneo de Manila University. They became part of H2004 Ventures, which then created the concept for Shawarma Bros in 2012.

The partners admitted that they initially wanted to franchise a buffalo wings place. However, they changed their minds and instead chose to sell meals from a food truck. They also modified their choice of food from sandwiches to shawarmas due to the fact that most Filipinos love rice. They also admitted that the business also taught them how to cook and create recipes. They also sought the expertise of a skilled chef who taught them the ropes.

In sum, the name Shawarma Bros resonates from the founders' identity as bonded brothers who have the love for shawarma. It captures the distinct taste and strategy employed by the founders to express their quest for “A Different Shawarma Experience.” Hence, they focused on serving rice plates more instead of shawarma wraps. Also, they serve the meals in special biryani rice. They also include lamb and special sauces in their menu such as chili tomato and cheese. Lastly, their dishes have mango salsa with it. In total, these combinations have been well-received among Filipinos.

The brand already achieved success with their food truck. However, not being content with their venue, they decided to launch a brick-and-mortar store in Bonifacio Stopover as a way to capture the target market.

My experience in this vibrant dining place was pleasant, to say the least. The interiors had the feel of a an industrial park interspersed with signboards and quotations signifying etiquette for "Bros" (You can see it in the pictures) The spirit of friendship and camaraderie is truly evident in the choice of signs in the area. Apart from this feature, the venue was well-lit and vibrant. Brash and bold colors such as yellow and orange made up the motif. While metallic-coated tables made up the dining spaces. I also love their use of those electronic waiting counters that light up when you order is ready.

Their menu concentrates on three types of meat: lamb, chicken, and pork. They serve it in two type of carbohydrate goodness, particularly wraps and rice. Even with a very simple menu, the selection still is very attractive to the discerning customer who wants a taste of meat-filled goodness.

I had their Lamb Steak Rice with Keema Meal, which is part of their Big Bro series. I'd say that the food was well cooked and generously served. The Php 279 meal consisted of a helping of well-done grilled lamb coupled with turmeric-seasoned biryani rice and the mango salsa. Mine also came with saucy ground pork called Keema. The meal was a truly meat-lover's paradise. One can savor the tenderness of the meat involved and marvel at how much effort their crew gave into making this dish. The seasonings, particularly the cheese and garlic sauces, were prepared fresh. There wasn't any bad or particularly strange smell with them. They also complemented the meat by giving it a tangy and zesty taste. The same goes for the mango salsa. It added so much variety to the meat filled meal and was fresh at the same time. To top it off, the meal was also complete with refreshing iced tea.

I'd say that the meal satisfied my lamb cravings. My belly was really filled after that sumptuous feast. Furthermore prices are very affordable. One can get a basic lamb meal for only 220 pesos. Other items on the menu are at the 150-200 peso price range.

For those interested, you can visit Shawarma Bros at 2/F BGC Stopover Pavilion, Rizal Drive Cor. 31st Street, Bonifacio Global City. Their number is 0977-325-7032

They have the best lamb shawarma rice for a very affordable price! The lamb is cooked perfectly - it still tastes like lamb but not too gamey. One thing i hope they improve on is the garlic sauce. I wish it was a little thicker and has more garlic flavour. Other than that, this place is perfect!

One of my go-to places in BGC Stopover is Shawarma Bros and my go-to orders are Beef/Chicken Shawarma Rice. Not really a fan of shawarma but this plate of Beef Shawarma got me! I like how the serving’s big enough for one full lunch meal and it’s only around 150 pesos. The shawarma strips are tender and not chewy. It also compliments both dips I’ve chosen - garlic yoghurt and cheese. Also, the servers in this branch are always friendly and approachable.

I think they have good shawarma. Cashier staff sometimes is distracted tho. They would ofter chatter among themselves a lot, and thus would be less attentive to customer.

Solid place for take out since its right across from where i work. I personally prefer not to dine in since i come out smelling like shawarma. 128517

The shawarma plates and wraps were as good as i remember back in their exclusive food truck days. The fried pita i found too oily though. 🙁

What really surprised me was the lamb steak plate. The so-called #BroSpecial... and i could definitely taste why! They made some REALLY good lamb. The meat portions were not fatty at all and with no gamey aftertaste. The slightly crunchy char on those lamb pieces made them a pleasure to chew on. Try mixing in the sauce (both red and white) for maximum flavor!

Shawarma Bros... Arch nemesis of Halal Guys. Most reviews i've seen have a preference towards this cheaper alternative to HG.

I remember getting a taste of their wraps from their food truck and I wasn't too happy with it. For about 150 pesos, I found the wrap too small in size, the meat really knot.

I got the lamb with rice for myself, a beef wrap for my son, and an additional lamb & rice for him. Pahabol. Nabitin.

It was just ok for me. Price wise, I think we got what we paid for. I find it very affordable for a BGC restaurant. Flavour, it's a Pinoy version of the Mediterranean or Middle Eastern original. Lamb was not too lamb-y in taste and had a few chewy, fatty parts. Wrap here is definitely bigger than our first try. I'd rather go to my favourite shawarma / gyro / doner places for an intense craving. But I do see myself coming here again, not anytime soon but once in awhile.

So do I like this better than HG? The meat here is better as its freshly grilled and has bigger pieces unlike in HG. I'm going against the grain here but overall I like HG better.

We came on a Sunday in June and got a free iced tea for plate we ordered. Place was very spacious.

I'd like you to meet my bro.
My bro makes my favorite shawarma RICE.
(I've tasted their shawarma on pita before and I didn't like it. The pita was soooo hard. Crispy. In a bad way.)

What I love about Shawarma bros?
1. Pricing - yes, it may be more expensive than the usual shawarma rice, but at least you get what you pay for. It's also cheaper than when you get a rice meal from other restaurants, but you'll be stuffed in the same way.

2. Taste - You'll choose 2 sauces from: cheese, garlic and chili. I often choose the first two, since I'm not into spicy food that much. What I love about their shawarma is the onions they are using aren't too strong. At the end of the meal, it feels good that your breath doesn't smell like onions and your burp as well. It's also my first time to try the keema. Well, apparently, it's like a chili con carne. At first I was hesitant to taste it since I have a bad memory of eating this dish. But thankfully I did, since it was delicious. It's something simple, without the strong chili or spice taste. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I liked it, so yay! 128069

3. Serving - Compared to the cheaper shawarmas, this place gives you more of everything. You can even ask for extra sauces if you want. I like that they are not stingy on the beef. When you mix it up, you'll get to taste all the elements, not just the rice and vegetables 128518

More details:
We ordered the beef shawarma rice (P159) and chicken shawarma rice with keema (P199? Can't remember but I know it was less than P200). Both of the meals came with free iced tea (for weekends).

This is my go-to place when craving for shawarma rice!

Went here for a mini-reunion with former officemates. I am a sucker for beef shawarmas. Aside from the beef, pita bread makes or breaks a shawarma Their best seller is their Beef Shawarma Plate but I ordered the Beef Shawarma Wrap since, well, Pita bread! Haha! Anyway, here goes:

Beef Shawarma Wrap - Shawarma Wrap wrapped in foil (inception, or better yet, beefception haha!). The dish comes with three sauces, the garlic sauce, cheese sauce, and spicy salsa. Pita bread is sweet but not that much that it would overpower the juicy and tasty beef inside. Generous filling of beef, onions, and tomatoes inside that I had to eat with a plate under to catch the beef that would fall (or I just dunno how to eat a shawarma properly, i dunno 128514) Would go back here to try their Beef Shawarma Plate.

Note: They have a Buy One Take One for their Beef Shawarma Plates on July 27 so if you are near the area or would like a Shawarma fix, head on to their BGC Stopover branch.

Can I just say that wow!!! Bonifacio Stopover is pretty legit! So much places to try out! 128523

So, we started with Shawarma Bros, for our recovery meal after a 10am cycling class. My friends and I all ordered different things. There was lamb steak rice, beef shawarma rice, and chicken shawarma rice. Each order came with 2 dips of our choice.

I had the lamb steak rice with the cheese dip and garlic yogurt. I thought the lamb was good! It was bite sized, and I liked how there was some lamb fat, not just all meat! I like eating my food without much dips, but from the two I chose, I preferred the cheese dip! The rice was good, although I wish the flavors were a little stronger.

They have meals with drinks and just plates without drinks. Fortunately, they had a promo for their plates during our visit. If you order 2 plates, you get a free iced tea for each order. So make sure to ask them if they still have this when you go there para sulit!

Worth a try, but they can still improve with making their food taste more. I don't like food that heavily relies on the dips.. 9996

I've been curious to find out whats all the buzz about the shawarma bros. So we finally tried it. And I must say..i should have just went with halal guys. For 200+ its not worth it. Tried the beef one. Its quite hard, the chili isnt that spicy. The garlic yogurt thats weird. And the plate is sooo small. Maybe it's cause I'm a picky eater or have a huge appetite thats why it didn't satisfy me but even my companion(who eats everything) complained about it being not worth it. Very disappointed. 128555

Ever since Shawarma Bros opened in BGC Stopover, I drool for shawarma for lunch. My former officemates and I would order from this well-loved restaurant once a month or once every two months and took advantage of its free delivery promo. I always look forward to those shawarma lunches. However, ever since Shawarma Bros started charging 10% of total sales for delivery, we started to order less and less. 128557128547128534 Anyway, here’s a review to reminisce those good ol shawarma days…

Hello, Shawarma Bros!

We make sure to place our orders before 11 a.m. to make sure that our food reaches our office by lunch time. I always order Chicken Shawarma with rice (PHP149).

Our orders usually arrive just a few minutes before 12 noon, still warm and ready to be enjoyed.

I love that Shawarma Bros is generous with its shawarma but I hope that they’d give more white sauce and salsa for take out. Anyway…

The chicken shawarma was juicy and oh so tender. Mixing it with rice, salsa and white sauce was Mediterranean party in my mouth.

I wish that they’d open a branch near my office so that I could just walk there and have all the white sauce I want. 128523

Stopover at bonifacio stopover (hehe i tried) The place is actually filled with a lot of restaurants like jollibee, kfc, or the usual fare. But they also carry unique restos like cocohut and shawarma brothers of course!

I was able to try this out a few months back when my sister brought me home the lamb platter meal. I didnt like it then but decided to give it another try today. Boy was it a good decision!

My guy and I had the lamb platter meal along with a choice of 2 sauces, we got the garlic yogurt and cheese. Which went perfectly well when mixed together and paired with the lamb. In my opinion shawarma brothers is definitely better tasting than halal guys. Price point, its also worth it. We were able to get free iced teas as well! they have an ongoing promo Wherein you get free drinks if you bring a 'buddy'

Will definitely be craving for this in the next few days 128557 spotted a bingsu place on the top floor. Definitely something to try!

I felt strongly about reviewing this place because it's rare to find a place that puts real protein goodness on the plates as opposed to drowning you with white carbs and extenders and starch.

Far better prices than The Halal Guys joint and their Beef and Chicken plates with Keema are what you should go for. Bang for the Buck especially for those trying to build muscle. These guys won't fail you.

The place is clean and the people are extra nice. Swing by and discover what it means to eat real meat.

Beef shawarma with rice was good! 128522 For 179 pesos, it comes with iced tea. It's best with their garlic yogurt and chili tomato sauce. Will try the ones that come in a wrap as well as lamb shawarma next time.

I should have went for halal guys. Almost same price but taste differs so much. I ordered shawarma rice with keema. Keema taste like it just came from ref that was microwave 128545. Rice and the shawarma beef were no better. Its just their sauce which makes it 2 star.
