We are looking for a new place to eat and we ended up in Shingetsu. The place is huge and there are paintings of Geisha, Koi fish etc. which help to have a Japanese ambiance.

When I saw their menu, my eyes were already stuck with their picture of Katsudon! It looks really delicious! :) I ordered Katsudon for P350 and my friend tried their Gyudon for P310. The Katsudon was really flavorful and the pork was tender. My friend's Gyudon looked delicious as well. The serving size is actually big.

Overall, I liked the place and their food! :) I will definitely go back here.

Gyudon was okay and affordable. Nothing extra ordinary.

Ordered Sauteed Beef Onion Teriyaki, Chicken Karaage and Egg Fried Rice.
Taste - 110881108811088️ Chicken Karaage, we were told was one of the best-sellers but imo, it was just okay. Perhaps what makes it different is its siding, one with mashed potato, lettuce and some spices.

Probably one of the best places to eat Tempura in BGC.

Shingetsu is owned by the same group that ran Naci Comfort Food in the San Juan area.

You can order their Prawn Tempura which is good for 2 to 3 persons.

My favorite would be their Prawn Tempura with Mayo Dressing, it's Tempura with Japanese Mayo on top of a bed of Mangoes. It's also good for sharing.

Their Egg Fries Rice and Mango shake is also good, so order it with your Tempura.

Ordered the tempura with mayo, spicy tuna salad, and the agedashi tofu. All were just average.

However, what didn't make our stay was the service. It were really slow, despite only serving 3 tables in the restaurant.

We tried it for the first time last week. They have lunch specials. My colleague ordered the Sushi Platter (around P300+) and I reluctantly ordered the Tempura set (P480). I thought it was too much to spend for a weekday lunch but I gave in. The menu said 4 big prawns. Anyway, we were pleasantly surprised when the food was served. The serving was big and totally worth the price. The sushi plate was BEAUTIFUL. The seafood looked fresh, and my colleague was happy with her order. The menu didn't lie. My prawns were BIG! There was a big piece of eggplant and onion tempura. Our lunch sets came with appetizers - soup, salad, a tuna dish and one with small shrimps. I also had a cup of Japanese rice. I had to share two of my prawns with another colleague who joined us. The tempura batter was perfectly crisp. The presentation was beautiful. The Tempura platter can be shared by two people. I will come back to try the rice bowls and a la carte menu. My only criticism is that the waiter needs more training in terms of dish familiarity. But I still give it 5 stars for our overall experience on this visit.

Hv been eyeing this joint for months .. Probably more than 6 months .. Use to be named shinjuku garden ... But never opened & now renamed to shingetsu japanese restaurant ...

Nice interior ... High volume ceiling , clean & sleek mix of brown & white tones ...opulent leather high back couch seating running on both sides of the walls with the bar counter as its center of accent . 3 big japanese prints above of a geisha, koi & a few japanese fabric lantern

Server's first day & so she doesn't know & can't satiate my curiosity #chizmosa 128541

I had the prawn & mango tempura with mayo(540) 3 big prawns sliced into 6 cuts , with a nice crisp batter tempura breading , slather with japanese mayo sitting beside a good enough slice of sweet mango ...like a deconstructed Ebi tempura sushi ...Love the plating .. Making the serving looks big 128541... Plus a nice bowl of crisp lettuce salad with sesame dressing & a lovely potato egg salad in it... I was full even before I finished the tempura 128552

Daladan juice (110) is refreshing , sweet level just right & pulpy .. nice to wash all the japanese mayo down 128523

I ordered salmon sashimi ... But no stock , I see they also serve rice bowl toppings (300-600), soup (100-300) , salad (200-400) , fish & prawn mains , ramen , katsu, curry & others to choose from... Hope they'll hv more varieties soon
