It was my first time to dine here. I usually go to Trinoma but I never thought of going here to eat, since the facade and the interiors look intimedating and "pricey". But a while a friend of mine looked for a place to eat (and her criticizing every resto menu she'd find, which is pretty annoying), we stumbled upon this restaurant. This is located at the top level of Trinoma, where some of the pricey restaurants are.

As we entered, Middle Eastern music (or as my companion called it "Indian") is being played, and the pretty interiors. At first, I was really concerned since it has fancy interiors, the place must be really expensive!

We sat on the side where it had the drapes purple curtains, which is perfect for intimate dinners or even lunch dates. Although there were only a few servers that time, they were very attentive and nice. And who doesn't like restaurant people who are like that, right? 128513

We ordered the Beef Koubideh or Kebab, Tabbouleh (salad with tomato, coriander, onions, Bulgur wheat, a few spices and lemon juice. apparently, it's Syria's national dish), Beef Curry, a platter of Basmati rice and Mango Lassi. My friend also ordered extra Pita bread, because, yeah she's more hungry than I am.

It took some time to prepare. But I thought it was all worth it; besides, I believe that good food takes time and attention to prepare, especially this kind of food. I was actually okay waiting for the food, unfortunately my friend kept on complaining that it was taking too long, considering that it only took like 15 minutes-ish. (You can sense that I'm pretty annoyed with this individual. Eventually when we part ways, I was really relieved. Lol)

The Tabbouleh came in first. You can taste freshness of the veggies and the tanginess of the lemon juice. The Bulgur wheat balances all the tartness of the veggies. It complements the food that we ordered.

And then, the main event! They served the Koubideh and the Curry. I requested the Kebab to be Medium spiced. And to be honest, their Medium spiced Kebab is actually Spicy enough for me. No need to take it up a notch, no need to add hot sauce. It was perfect. 128513 Their Curry's the best I have tasted so far. The beef cubes were tender, and the sauce is the BOMB! When I tried dipping the Pita into the vibrant red-orange sauce, it was heaven. It's not that spicy, but the salty-sweet taste of the sauce goes well with the Pita, as well as the rice. OMG my mouth still waters when I think about it. 128550

Their Mango Lassi's really good, too. 128522 Really tangy and refreshing. It's a great drink after all the rich food we ate.

Compared to the popular Persian Restaurants like Mister Kabab, pricewise it's more expensive. But the quality and taste of food is really worth the trip. 128522 I can't wait to go back and dine here again, but this time with someone who appreciates good food and great service like I do, which is my favorite person ever, my boyfriend. Yup, ending my review on a cheesy note. 10084128145

Happy Holidays everyone! 127876127876127876

Shomal has been one of the restaurants on the top floor of Trinoma that has been around ever since. It's not a restaurant that I visit often, just because of personal preference. But meeting up with old internship friends led us here last month.

Four of us met for dinner and occupied one of the tables adorned with curtains for "privacy". There was much reminiscing to do and we prepared for a long conversation. For starters, we got hummus and motaubal with pita bread. I was never a fan of motaubal (which is roasted eggplant), but I did like the hummus. We shared an order of chicken curry and chicken kebab. I liked the chicken kebab, which had a distinct roasted/smoked flavor. The curry was just right for me, but my friends wanted it spicier. I enjoyed the chelo beef kebab, that was served with rice. Douse it in garlic & hot sauce and you are good with this dish. I did wish that the garlic sauce had a bit more kick.

This place is more expensive than other restaurants serving the same kind of cuisine. Food is good, but I honestly prefer Mister Kabab in terms of food quality, value for money, and taste. Service is good, waiters are helpful. But it is difficult to call them from within the curtained area (understandably so). But it's fun there--feeling Arabian nights!9786

Passing by restaurants outside trinoma mall, we just felt like eating kebab for lunch. The interior was good and inviting so we gave it a shot. I was with a friend and we ordered chelo beef kebab, indian curry beef and moutabal. The food was good! However, in the middle of indulging ourselves with those good food, i find myself chewing something hard. I just thought it was just a small stone that came with the rice, so i spat it out, and was surprised what i found out. A CHIPPED GLASS. Oh no.

I did not reprimand the waiter/waitresses, but i felt the need to call their attention so as to thoroughly check their food being served to other customers.

Finding foreign objects (is it the right term?) in your food doesn't make it all good for the restaurant and much worse to find chipped glass in it, which I think is putting lives in danger. Anyways, to my mind, these things happen in the kitchen every once in a while, be it due to complaceny or just by accident.

No one ever wants to ingest these things nor the restaurant wants such thing to happen, so we also have to be mindful of what we are eating.

Simple advice: Nguyain muna mabuti bago lunukin. 128514

Still giving it 4 stars for the food and service crew. 128074

Celebrating Cel C's birthday last Saturday @ her favorite kebab place in Trinoma @ Shomal 127842 (back after 5 years128522)

Her treat! So definitely everything is extra yummy. We had Mega Kebab (P1,340) this has 2 sticks of beef kubideh, 2 sticks of beef shish kebab, 2 sticks of chicken kebab served in a platter with saffron & biryani rice sided with grilled tomatoes.

This platter will not disappoint your tastebuds. The white & red sauce added extra taste. Enjoyed the spiciness of red sauce. Plus, a complimentary chapati to start.. Served hot!

The place has never changed. We are having a quick throwback of the same ambiance we've been into 5 years ago. Well, what matters most is that the food is still good.128516

It's my birthday lunch with titas of manila! I chose a favorite restaurant for the best kebabs + white sauce ever. I also celebrated here 5yrs ago. Glad that the restaurant is still there. I was worried it might have closed shop already since there are very few customers.

We ordered the kebab platter (P1,340) with 2 sticks each of kubideh (ground beef), chicken and shish (beef cube). Plus an extra shish coz it's my most fave. Platter has a plate of saffron and biryani rice and 1 bread. White sauce and chilli are the best I've had ever. Love it! Beef is so tender and juicy. Chicken a bit dry but sidings made up for it. Kubideh is so good! We were so full! (All 4 titas) there were some rice left.

Arabian tea tastes like normal black tea. Nothing special.

I just hope they remain open for when I am craving for the best kebab in town.

Expensive version of Mr. Kebab/Uncle Moe's. Although they have more choices to choose from.

Ordered Chicken Tandoori (225PHp) solo, it's chicken breast cut into cubes which was marinated and served with one pita bread. It was flavorful but for the price, it was a bit expensive for my taste.

This is, as of the moment, is my top Persian restaurant!

Shomal serves very tender beef kebabs, soft long grain rice, and unforgettable white sauce for the kebabs.

My favorite is the Beef Kubideh which is good for 2 pax. It serves 2 long beef kebabs, that are once again, very tender among all kebabs I have tasted. Their sauce is really good even though it's not thick in texture. Superb!

Beef Kheema is kinda oily but very strong in flavor even though it doesn't have eggplant which we usually order from other Persian restaurants. Plus the very interiors of the restaurant transport you to the Middle East making you feel like singing A Whole New World! Love Shomal very much.

Shomal offers Persian and Indian cuisine.

I used to be not so adventurous when it comes to food but hubby introduced my tastebuds to different cuisines. I was hesitant to try Indian food before but gave it a try anyway. And it was worth-it!

I got chicken kebab and hubby had curry. I didn't expect that I'll like curry and it's something new for me. It was very flavorful. 128522

I also tried their lassi drink and it was good. 128077🏼128077🏼 Lassi is a yogurt-based shake/drink. It complements the flavorful curry and kebab. 128076🏼

Oh, I also like the privacy curtains and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. From the outside it looks a bit dark but it actually looks good when you're already inside 128521

I thought this could be more authentic than new bombay.. Was quite disappointed at this. It's just more fancy.

I ordered chicken masala and saffron rice.
1. They don't have single serve cup rice. So ordering the php145 saffron rice was overwhelming.
2. Their chicken masala is less spicy, i mean i could not taste the indian spice.

But it was really filled my stomach. Price is ok masala is 260.

Hmm What should have I tried?

Their Chelo Kebab was great!!! The rice were also very very good! I craved for kebab for a week after i ate here!! We also ordered hummus for appetizer. It comes with a pita bread. They added to much olive oil on the hummus, probably why it was a bit bitter but it was still very good. Service was also great. The staff were attentive of the needs of the customers.

When it comes to Persian Food, Shomal is my number one choice! For us, it's the high-end counterpart of Mister Kabab/Behrouz. I just can't "ricesist" their Basmati rice! Winner din ang garlic and hot sauce! I always like to be seated at the "curtained" area for an intimate dinner vibe!

I loved this place! Probably a bit on the pricey side, but when I ate there last Thursday, I thought it was worth the P1200 we paid.

As per usual, my friend Kat and I ate out after going to St Jude and I had mentioned that I was craving for some kebabs, so she suggested Hossein's.

I loved their decor - really authentic Persian furniture and chandeliers and wallpaper. 128077 naappreciate ko tlga 128522

We ordered the beef kebab (it's good for two) and the hummus and pita for our appetizer. Also, and I'm sorry I forgot what it's called, it's a dessert. Four slices of sweet bread that you dip into condensed milk (pictured). Sooooo good!!!

I got hot green tea and Kat had the yogurt drink. 1278659749

I would totally come back 128523

It's good. The rice is good and the drinks are fresh.
I highly recommend the fried ox brain and shawarma.
The kebabs are good as well.
