Bagnet and kansi- all time faves! You'll never go wrong with these two.
Ambience is good because the area is well-lit. Plus, the servers are attentive.

Finally convinced mommy to not eat at Mandarin Palace last saturday night for dinner! YAYYYY!!!!! 128588🏼 We were all craving for Sinigang and where else to eat but in a place named after the dish itself! There are a number of good reviews about this place already so I was somehow excited to try this place out and to satisfy our sinigang cravings. We ordered their bestseller, the Sinigang na Bagnet sa Sampaloc, Ginataang Kalabasa at Sitaw, Half Crispy Fried Jumbo Bangus Belly and 2 cups of plain rice.

Service was kind of slow but because of the free fast wifi connection, okay na. 128517 The ginataang gulay was good, it was creamy and serving size was generous. And the bangus, wow! Half order lang but it was really huge and yummy!!Crispy fried bangus + vinegar = Sarap!!!! 128525 For a little less than 200 pesos, the bangus was very very sulit!! Grabe! 128077🏼 Then the "bestseller", Sinigang na Bagnet which was... disappointing. 128557128148 We were expecting bagnet (as in crispy fried pork) but it was not at all fried or crispy. Para lang siyang pork belly/liempo. We had a hard time figuring out paano siya naging bagnet? 128527128534128546 Tas puro taba pa, almost 75% taba! 128557128557 But the soup was very good! Tamang timpla ng asim ng sampaloc. Very comforting! 128077🏼

Service was good. The staffs were all helpful and it's not hard getting their attention.

I like sinigang and this is a perfect place for it! Waiting time for food preparation is around 10mins (sakto sa gutom ko). The waiters are accommodating and attentive to their customers. They also have other famous Filipino food such as kare-kare, barnet and pinakbet.

Been sick for several days now so I was craving for some good old 'sabaw' 128522 luckily I remembered Erick B's reco so we headed over there the other night.
Place is quite easy to find, it's actually right in front of Bucky's hehe. There was just one more table occupied when we go there around 6:30. I remember it used to be orange whisk where they offered more of a bistro type menu but I think they streamlined it now to Filipino fare or to be more exact, sinigang. There were several types to choose from (miso, tadjang, salmon etc) but we got the sinigang Na bagnet (solo php275 I think) and their Bicol express. 2 cups of rice to begin with, hehe. Servers were attentive and polite.
Food was served in a little over 10mins and the sinigang had generous servings of meat and fresh veggies! The Bicol express was creamy and delicious though the pieces were on the fatty side.
Finished off my 1 cup of rice faster than I wanted to 128516 haha so we ordered one more to share.
For dessert, we shared a mini red velvet cake (php180 I think). Pretty good too 128077🏼
Excited to try their other dishes next time!

Ordered inadobong sisig, sinigang na salmon belly, and ginisang sitaw at kalabasa.

There was a lot of belly in the sinigang and the broth was also good.

Nothing special about the sisig but it was also tasty.

Same can be said about the sitaw and kalabasa but one thing that stood out was that on the menu it was supposed to be ginataan but since my mom doesn't like gata the waiter proactively mentioned they can cook ot without the gata. So plus points for service. :)

This place is underrated. P210 for a huge bowl of sinigang na bagnet? Sulit! And it's not just all about serving size. The food is GOOD. They also don't skimp on the meat and vegetables. You wouldn't find a better deal elsewhere than this.

This place deserves more attention. Definitely going back to also try their other pastries. We had some for take-out so we'll find out later how good they are.

UPDATE: I got a piece of chocolate chewy eclair and it was good and... chewy!

Previously called just "Orangewhisk"... I have no idea why they changed names. Rebranding? Especially since most of their menu is Sinigang. Same facade and place though.

Food, still as tasty as before. Tho the viands were more filipino now. Huge servings too! And a little creative? It was the first time i hear pakbet bagnet and bagnet at talong. Also the kansi.

We had the lechon bagnet, which is good for two, and the kansi laman and a plain rice platter, which the server said is good for 4 people but it really is for 5-6 haha. Total price is only 745pesos! Masarap pang-pamilya!

When you're looking for a lutong-bahay without the hassle of luto sa bahay, this is a good choice.

If you're looking for a homey vibe along Aguirre, this is the place to be.

A fusion of different dishes around the world, they are a lot to choose from.

Some of those which caught our attention were the Potato Leek Soup, Garlic Butter Shrimps in Crab Fat Sauce, and the Braised Ox Tongue in Basil Mushroom Cream Sauce in Truffle Garlic Oil.

I could still recall the rich taste of these dishes lingering on my tongue, especially on the quality ingredients used. I must say, the prices were okay to justify it.

All in all, my mom, sister and I enjoyed every plate that I ended up consuming even the drops of truffle garlic oil, hee hee! 128521

Too bad we were too full to get desserts, so anothee reason to come by again!

(And that's it, the last of my backlog, yahoo! 128517128077)

We were guests to a family friend's 60th birthday and they decided to hold the surprise party here. Atmosphere was okay interior design was interesting since very simple and with that decor of whisks. Came the appetizers, we were served with potato wedges with cheese, baked mussels which I tasted and thought it was not FRESH at all and fresh lumpia.. With no plate unless you have asked for it. How do they expect us to eat it? Even the lumpia sauce was not served. Iced tea next and you can taste that it is from commercial Nestea that they have just poured in a pitcher eith water and voila! Next was the buffet itself, we were treated with baked salmon which is a bit bland, there was sweet dish of pork and that was good. I didnt get to taste the lengua since I dont eat it never had the chance to ask my husbad how was it though but most likely not something great since he would volunteer to inform me. There was sotanghon too which is kind of okay. Dessery was buco pandan and not a winner:-(

They have really good Filipino comfort food. The bagnet dishes are super good. The tofu in Toknet or Tokwang Bagnet tasked like pork too! The garlic shrimps in crab fat is also to die for! Not too crazy over the eclairs and tres leches though.

The truffle cake was a pleasant surprise. For 138 pesos, i was not expecting that much. It certainly doesn't taste cheap. It was rich and very sinful. Pair it off with a cup of brewed coffee. Best shared with 3 of your friends since it is quite rich. I'll definitely go back here again to sample their menu.

I am not particularly fond of Red Velvet but this one from Orange Whisk kills it!!! It's smooth, moist and just perfectly sweet! 128523128523128523

The story though is not the cupcake but how the wait staff turned an unfortunate incident into a fantastic recovery. We ordered salad as a starter and in the middle of eating (it was good, mind you), we found a long strand of hair mixed in. We summoned the waiter and lodged our complaint expecting tons of resistance. Much to our delight, the waiter quickly apologized and said it has not happened before. He promptly replaced it with a newly made batch and announced that they will take it off the bill. As we were finishing our meal, the same waiter came and gave us this wonderful Red Velvet on the house and apologized once more.

I tell you I was so impressed that I probably tipped more than the salad was worth!
