I thought they just renamed the resto from Sentosa to Sir Raffles. I loved the food from this place so I decided to dine again. But this time the food was sooo different, it was nothing close to the old Sentosa resto. Apparently, the original chef, the owner's son, was no longer the chef. Food was oily, bland and just plain terrible :-(. So disappointed

TERRIBLE.

1. The restroom was so dirty. roaches emerged from the basin beside the dirty toilet.

2. The sink outside was real dirty.

3. The owner was snoring away in his lazy boy while we were eating (from reviews he seemed nice, but to sleep in our view? awkward naman)

4. I saw one of the staff wash plates and glasses outside, inside the door beside the main door. it seemed unsanitary

5. Food was real bad.
I was so excited for the roti, it was 95 bucks a piece. But when it came, it was super buttery/oily!
Hainanese chicken: teeny tiny pieces that tasted bland. the ginger also tasted old (you know when its fresh even just by looking at the color)
Pork Satay: It was too sour, we thought it was spoiled ( the staff said it wasnt), but we ended up throwing it away. baka makalason pa. sorry talaga.
For all those three and a can of sprite, we paid 800 bucks. Fail talaga. never coming back.

A different New Year's celebration for my family - had a bet with my dad over a card game (Dutch Blitz, if you're familiar) and whoever loses will get the lunch bill and this place was on stake. 128514

I won! I won! 127881 And good thing I did! Cause this Singaporean place might be semi-hole in the wall along Aguirre Ave, BF Homes, but the dishes were not cheap. 128513

Sir Raffles himself got our orders and even recommended his bestsellers (claimed better than hawkers in SG, and indeed true! Felt like I was in SG!) 128077128077

What we got was the famous Hainanese Chicken - medium for P295. The ginger sauce was prepared fresh (not the typical ginger with green onion), this was mashed finely and chicken was good.

Laksa (large bowl for P395) as the Singaporean soup made of coconut milk - was just okay for me. But some of my family liked it.

Camote Leaves Belchan P295 was one of his famous dishes - very yummy! Talbos ng kamote, but definitely prepared in a delectable dish! 128523 Can't help chewing these greens!

Broccoli with Seafood P295 was just average. Fish Head Soup P795 was big enough to serve us all - for fish lovers who eat the meat to the bone, this one's a recommendation.

Pork Satay P200 was my favorite - a common meal in SG - the peanut sauce is just very appetizing! Nasi Goreng rice (large bowl for P395) was the fried rice of SG - just okay for me, similar to Yang Chow for Chinese cuisine. Black Pepper Beef P295 was delicious as well.

The best dish of all was the Chili King Prawns (2 huge pieces for P895) - since we did not prefer crabs, "Uncle Raffles" recommended we order this crustacean and he'll prepare it with
the chili sauce similar to the famous Singaporean chili crabs. And ohhhh boy, this is so delicious, I even ended up consuming the sauce and putting it on my rice (parang ulam na yung sauce, haha!) 128523128077128079 Certainly a MUST ORDER - all caps for emphasis! Haha! 128518 I noticed other tables got this one too!

Finally, we were served complimentary Iced Kachang given the number of dishes we ordered. And "Uncle Raffles" was very accommodating - from getting our orders, cooking them and entertained us as well - definitely a Superman on how he runs his resto. No wonder people kept coming to this place - not only service is good, but the food's delicious as well! 127881128077128079

Place was small and find it disorganized as there were shelves with merchandises that are for sale (air humidifiers, picture frames, expandable hose, etc...)128559

We got one medium sized hainanese chicken set and salt & pepper shrimps. Shrimps were fresh as I can easily rip off the skin but the hainanese chicken was just okay. Meat is still bloody inside and the rice was dry and as what Sheryl Anne B said it was like re-heated128533

Servers were attentive to each customer's need. They keep on refilling our water, gave us soup, refilled our house tea and also gave us free dessert.

The owner was there too. He was friendly and always asking how was the experience.

It was a fair experience and I think it will take time again for me to dine here. Unless there'll be no choice128566

A sign on their door says, "NO MSG."

Kuya Erick B: "No MSG daw! Bawal mag-message." -- Nyeeeeeekkkkkk 128566

The place is small. When we got in, we noticed the different appliances (air humidifiers, rice cookers, water heater) and decorative pieces (picture frames, figurines, etc.) displayed on the shelves. Those are for sale, btw. There's also a huge dining table in the middle that can accommodate about 10-15 persons.

We had their Hainanese chicken paired with salt and pepper shrimps. It was okay, but the rice seemed re-heated lang. The chicken soup was kinda bland. I liked their house tea (I'm not sure if it's Jasmine tea), it's free plus it's refillable! And they gave us free dessert! But unfortunately it has milk so.... 128566

Reasonably priced. Free wifi. The owner's very friendly as well as the servers. I'll return to try the other dishes they serve, gotta give this place another shot. 128522

I was craving for Hainanese Chicken so we headed to this place right after we heard mass. The place is just a stone's throw from PCJ so it is very convenient.

We got the Laksa. It is mildly spicy. The Hainanese Chicken is delicious. The Bandung is very sweet. It has black gulaman, which made the beverage enjoyable to drink. The owner also gave us Gacha for complimentary dessert. Gacha is their term for beans. It closely resembles halo-halo, but with different halo. It has corn, beans, black gulaman, milk and ice shavings.

The place looks like an ordinary house and the owner is very friendly. My dining experience reminds me of Singaporean street foods/hawkers and hole-in-the wall restos in SG without the fancy interiors.

Most authentic Singaporean resto in the south! If you're lucky, you might chance upon mister raffles himself (I don't know his real name hehe) and he can personally offer you his 'specials' like the fish head curry we got that day. Laksa soup is refillable too. Better than toast box's in my opinion ü

Their Laksa is surprisingly good! Better than the Laksa of the local Toast Box, but not as good as the Laksa of the original Toast Box in Singapore. The owner is super friendly, too!

This place Rocks! Owner is very friendly and suggest his own specialty which changed often. This day it was Lamb Curry served with Roti. He also served me salted fish from Malaysia with sprouts. I even got free tapioca dessert! Loved the experience.
