Our return at Sizzling Plate! 127830

It was rather funny because (I've just found out) I tended to order something there that didn't require slicing or chopping, considering it was a steak place. Next time magse-steak na talaga ako yung totoong steak hehehe.

I was curious by the Korean Beef Steak (₱199) because it had the unusual components like monggo sprouts and crispy dilis. Beefy then fishy? Interesting. So I ordered this, para maiba naman. The "steak" there consisted of thinly sliced beef strips, so technically it was not a steak. :))

The unlikely combination turned to out be really good! I expected the crispy dilis to be really salty. But it turned out to be the kind of crispy dilis that I liked -- sweet. Not too fishy at all. It went well with the beef. But the monggo sprouts were a non-factor, I didn't taste anything out of it, nasapawan siguro ng beef at crispy dilis... But overall, it was dilis-cious!

My youngest sister ordered the T-bone steak, well done (₱275, if I remember it correctly) -- it was huuuuge. However, it was hard to slice it through... but eventually we found a trick: slicing the meat against the grain. Nevertheless, when we got to eat it, it was mostly tough and chewy. I wished they had cooked it a little longer since it should be cooked well-done.

I liked their gravy now, I thought its flavor was improved compared to the gravy we had on our first visit there.

We also had the Breaded Chicken (₱165) -- it was good also, and relatively hassle-free to eat compared to the T-bone steak hahaha.

Paglabas namin amoy steak na kami lols. 128516

Back when I was younger, whenever we're in Session Road, we would always have lunch here. It's a must because my family enjoys the steak here. Decent and super affordable. I can no longer remember the last time we visited this place, maybe more than 7 years? so for lunch, we decided to eat here.

We ordered the following:

SALAD was meh. Saddest salad I had in Baguio. Greens weren't fresh, hard boiled egg was old and tasted weird, Do not order this one. 128566128566128566

PORKCHOP. 2 huge thick slices of tender tasty porkchop. This was pretty good. It was yummy and we enjoyed pouring a lot of gravy!! 128518

SIZZLING BANGUS. Too bad the Hawaiian Steak Ham is not available anymore. That's my lola's usual order. So instead, we ordered the Sizzling Bangus which was surprisingly good. It had the right level of sourness and saltiness.

Serving size was just right. Good enough for one person. Served with rice/dinner rolls, soup and vegetables - potatoes & beans.

Super late late review.

In contrast to the cool climate outside, inside the Sizzling Plate was hot and stifling, with smoke of the grilled/fried/griddled meats wafting throughout the room.

The "steaks" -- actually pork chops -- were tasty and affordable, and their sisig was superb -- a bit crunchy. Yun lang, nawalan ako ng gana when my phone went dead (it had been going awry since we visited BenCab Museum), but this time for good. 128542 Good thing I was able to take a few pictures and a video before my phone went kaput. Bye-bye Z5 128557128557128557

Yummy and decent steaks that are affordable! Serving of soup was a lot and it sort of made us a bit full. We orderedtenderloin steak and tenderloin tips. Both were good but the tenderloin tips were less tender because of some burnt parts. And the place was a bit warm because of the sizzling plates and lack of fans. I suggest you sit near the window. Anyway, in general we still liked their food and service. :)

In continuation of the "must try" restos in Baguio, the second one on the list is SIZZLING PLATE.

This resto is popular because they serve fresh tasting steaks, both local and australian steak. They also serve Ribs and other Filipino staple food. Of course, we ordered the local steak. What sets their steak from the rest is their serving size is quite big, and you can be sure that the meat you're going to eat is from a cow 128518
The steak comes with a soup and rice, and you can enjoy every piece of it.
What is also surprising is how delicious their sansrival is! It has icing on top, and the bottom part of it is like that of a merengue. They serve it generously on a plate and its only Php 25!

The price of their local steaks is at Php 258, and their other Filipino food staple prices ranges from Php 180-250.

When in Baguio, this is a staple dinner for the hubby and I. This branch in Session Rd. is once again insanely packed, luckily we got a seat.

We got the T-bone steak for only P200+. Steal, yeah? It already comes with rice and soup. The meat was tasty but not as tender as I remember. Quite a struggle to cut through the slab. Huhu! The serving is generous with the heaping rice so the boys will be happy.

Since it was a busy day, the service was slow. We had to call the servers many times to be accommodated. Too bad that we didn't get to try their famous Sansrival which was just P25/piece. Woah!

Had a quick dinner here on Sunday evening ( December 7, 2014) after our successful climb from Mt. Pulag. We requested if they can serve us quick coz we had our schedule time going back to Manila. Luckily, they did and we really appreciated it.

Tried the the sizzling chicken and porkchop. All good and tasty.

❗️affordable price

T-bone steak for 258php. It comes with soup, veggies and java rice. Not bad for its price. And its actually yummy and serving is big. Sulit na for the price.

We were famished when we reached the resto coming from a long drive from Kalinga. So it was a good thing that we were able to find a parking space and a table as soon as we got there. Serving time was 15 minutes.

Too bad we didn't get to try their leche flan and choco leche flan as they ran out of stock. You can also buy sansrival (by the slice or the whole cake) and some pasalubongs - lengua de gato, choco flakes.

Affordable and delicious steak in Baguio. Porterhouse steak for only Php250. And grilled porkchop was not bad as well. I also liked the potato fries that went with the meat.

Staff a little uptight and didnt appear to be happy to serve the guests. But overall experience is good.

For our last day in Baguio, my boss and I tried this famous store for sizzling sisig and Sans rival.

We didn't had the sisig tho. Lol I had the porkcjop and she had the korean beef. Mine tastes okay but she didn't like hers. Too bland for her tastebuds. 128516

Their Sans rival is a merengue-like cake covered with butter on top. 128525 It is sweet and cold! 128525128525128525128525128525 The presentation tho isn't IG friendly. 128514 I didn't mind even if there are nuts on top, I still eat it because I srsly love merengue.

One slice is only 25 freaking peso! 128561

I will come back for that Sans rival!!!!!!

Ordered their tenderloin tips, barbecue, chicken barbecue, and sisig. The food was okay, typical sizzling specialty restaurant. There was nothing special about it, really. The waiters weren't very attentive at all. Overall, it was an "okay" experience.

Where else in this cold weather can you find cheap steaks and fast service? Sizzling steaks. With their peppery meats served over a hot sizzling plate taking a bath in very (wait for it) VERY savory gravy. paying below 600 pesos for 3 full meals (yes 3 full meals!!!!) seems like you want to eat here everyday. Warm sizzling steaks + 8 degree weather = FUN.
