There are actually three malls in BGC, four if you are to include Serendra, and five if you are to add Megaworld’s Piazza. There are also a couple of commercial centers around the area including the Fort Strip and BGC Stopover. So I have discovered this restaurant named Skippy’s Bar & Grill, which you can find in another restaurant strip called the Forum. Surprisingly, it’s just a small area but you’ll never run out of food choices here.

So anyways, in spite of the number of customers at Skippy’s, which weren’t that much at all, everything just seemed to be in slow motion. The staff members seemed to be moving at a snail’s pace, whereas it took them ages to process our orders. To make matters worse, even the dishes that they have served us were quite disappointing.

Skippy’s chicken kebab (priced at Php400) looked like it was of a generous portion at first glance, but to our dismay, there were only six pieces of bland grilled chicken on the plate, which were mostly that of chicken skin. I even had to put ketchup on it just to give it flavor and make it interesting. The vegetables that go together with it were at least fresh and crunchy.

I am sorry to say this but I do think that Skippy’s chicken barbecue pizza (priced at Php250) is probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life. There were barely any chicken on the pizza, and the barbecue sauce tasted like the generic bottled ones you get from the supermarket. It tasted way too sweet for my palate. The only thing that’s nice about it is it’s crunchiness.

Their brownie with ice cream (priced at Php170) was no match compared to the better ones I had in the past. It crumbles easily and it was airy too. I’d say that there are locally made ice creams that even tasted better than this one.

As for their tropical smoothie drink (priced at Php180), I was hoping that they will use fresh strawberries for this one but to my dismay, they seemed to have used strawberry jam in it. I wasn’t happy with its taste at all.

So after having spent almost three hours at Skippy’s watching the Australian Open Final, I do think that you ought to skip going to Skippy’s. There are much better dining places to go to, and I guess this can only be a good spot if you’re in the mood for watching sports events since they have huge screens here where you can watch them on.

Maybe I’ll give Skippy’s another chance next time. Probably at NBA Finals? Sounds like a plan to me.

Good service except on fris & sats when its really full. Beer bucket look old and banged up. High tables and chairs for patio/ open air beer drilining. Dart board area too tight. Washroom ok with lots of hand towels.

My football buddies and I found ourselves watching the Gilas Pilipinas vs China match last night.

We chose Skippy's cause we knew it wouldn't be as packed as other bars.

I loved the pub feel of the place. But what I disliked was that the LCD TVs weren't really positioned strategically. Most of the time you'd have to turn your seats around or get a stiff neck to get a clear view of what you're watching. Plus the beer was quite pricey at P85/local beer.

Place is promising. Lots of greens and space for me to move around. However in the afternoon, it's just too hot to stay outside and in the evening there's lots of Mosquitos. Hoomans find their food so-so too. And the crowd at night gets crazy wild. Will come back when I'm bigger. Say 80lbs? I'm only 20lbs now.

Big servings of their food, good beverage list but I'm not a fan of the vibe here. Music wasnt good either. Also, they have to do something about the mosquitos 128534

New bar near the clinic where I work. Perfect after a log day's work. I love the U-shaped bar inside and the pool table for everyone to play.

I love listening to the blues and it's good to see the line-up of bands in this place (mostly young blues bands). Haven't tried any food yet. Only drank beer the first time I went here. Will post again for food reviews, but for now I'm loving this place even without the food.
