So my friend decided to have some drinks after a hearty dinner.. And what did I get? Homemade twinkies.128517 Lola peg lang, because I don't drink and I wanted to be the responsible adult (Naks. Hahahaha!)128514 Anyways, the dupe was good but not great like the real ones! It's a bit dry and a little less sweet but definitely a nice alternative to fix your twinkies cravings!

So i loved all the food we ordered an if not or th lightings it wiuld hve been a perfect 5. The burrito was the best! The burger and dogs are equally awesomeness but the health conscious in me chose to stick with the leaves thus the salad (with bacon wrapped shrimps) and the chicken ceasar wrap which is as filling as my friends order. The only unsure order that I have was the pineapple spiced lemonade which has a really weird taste! But hey experience + exotic feels! Its quite pricey i need to admit but its definitely worth trying. Great comfort food but I really wish they fix the lights. Not conducive for photo ops. That is the struggle.

Why have I only tried this place yesterday???

We were at UPTC to check out the weekend market and to score some churros... (Bf loves La Lola) We were looking for a new place to dine and we were disappointed to see that Silantro wasn't open yet... So we went to Skull and Bones, being one of the restaurants we have yet to try at the original building...

We were immediately accomodated and informed that their menu items were on promo... The designer dogs @ 220, the burgers (except the Skull Crusher) @ 260, and the burritos priced @ 320... I gravitated towards the burritos! Got the Steak Chimichurri burrito, which sounded so good from the menu!128077🏻 I forgot the name of the burger my bf ordered!128513

It took awhile for the staff to prepare our food, but the fast wifi made the wait fly by... When the food came, it was worth the wait! The burrito was huge! It had beef tenderloin, beans, brown rice, mozarella, and Monterey Jack cheese on a Spinach tortilla! It was so good! They serve it with sour cream and pico de gallo, in generous amounts! My bf, who rarely likes burritos, actually raved about this one! I think the price tag might make some people pause, but their promo rates make the food more attractive...

Btw, you can add P80 for fries and drink to complete your meal! Not bad for a good and filling meal!128077🏻 got the food to go and it was really well packed, love that!128588🏻

Catching up over red cups with college friends. Its so fun trying out new places.

Skulls and bones have a fancier version of Beer Pong. You get to have your own private beer pong room, comfy couch and even wifi.

Wasn't able to try their food. I'm really curious how their home made twinkies tastes like. Maybe next time!

Yummy comfort sandwiches and burritos. Dirty South chicken sandwich was really good, crispy, flavorful, and not at all dry. Grilled cheeseburger had a good meat patty and lotsa cheese. Fluffer nutella oozing at the sides and homemade twinkie that's not overly sweet as the original for dessert! Lots of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on the menu too!

Dirty South - breaded chicken topped with red cabbage. Delicious!

Coincidentally, it was open mic Thursday, so we heard the guys from the UP Music Club sing their hearts out. Medyo lumabas lang ang katandaan namin, because we kept complaining how loud it was - even though it was an acoustic night! HAHAHAHA

But srsly, if you're looking for the collegiate feel - esp UPD students - drop by! (We saw a SOSC1 book as part of the display!) 128516

First off, thank you looloo for the GC for this place. Im glad we were able to try it. 9786

I was able to try a couple of thjngs in their menu. The 250-peso nachos and salsa were nothing special. Ordinary salsa and chips from a bag. It was quite expensive for what it is.

I got the grilled cheeseburger. The picture doesnt do it justice. Its rich, oily, juicy, cheesy, mouthwatering, good! I didnt get the name until i saw the burger.. Grilled-cheese (burger) 128517 too bad the first burger patty i got was raw inside. Not rare; raw. I had them cook it again. They didnt replace the burger and bun; they only reheated it .. So medyo kalat na siya when it got back to me. Still, the flavour was good. I just wish they served me a good one from the start.

I was also able to have half a chipotle chicken burrito (saw it in Peanut D's review). Soooo good! It had a generous serving of tasty juicy chicken inside. The chicken, together with the rice, beans, and salsa, gave it a nice flavor and texture, unlike most of the burritos ive had which were dry. It also had a nice side of fresh salsa and a huge spoonful of sour cream which went really well with the burrito.

If i were in college, this would be the kind of place i would eat at almost everyday.. Although i sincerely think that a college kid's monthly allowance would last only a week here tops.

I'm not the biggest fan of burritos and yet I finished Skull and Bones' Chicken Chipotle Burrito. 128557

I don't like that cilantro/cumin taste in anything so I was prepared to be disappointed. But what a surprise! (The lady at the counter recommended this to me)

This thing was huge! The wheat tortilla was crispy and the burrito was packed with so much awesome goodness! Dianne E Have you tried this??

Flavor-wise, you will not be disappointed. It has Spanish rice, black beans, chipotle chicken (very tender!), roasted corn, mozzarella, and Monterey Jack cheese. Best part? The Pico de gallo is on the side! I hate tomatoes!

The sour cream is also on the side so when you slather it on your burrito, it adds even more flavor. But wait, squeeze that Calamansi and wow... I love this burrito!!!!!!!!!! 128525128525128525

Although I think this is something you should eat right away as I can imagine the wheat tortilla becoming soggy pretty quickly. Also it is spicy so spice-sensitive folks, beware.

It's also pretty pricey at Php 340 but I would rather take this filling meal than get a half priced half assed done burrito. This one is a well-made burrito. 128077128522

They also have homemade twinkies! They are also pretty good!!! I think Edwin I might like it. Not too sweet but not bland either. Very moist and the filling wasn't too overpowering.

I will be back!

I was so enticed to visit Skull & Bones because first, it was a new-restaurant-to-try in UP TownCenter and second, because it is a restaurant that the Borough-Nolita group conceptualized.

The idea of bringing university comfort food to a highly universitized area like Katipunan (with Ateneo, UP and Miriam) is ingenious. The whole feel of the restaurant should be (I think) that of a hangout place where university students in the States go to to drink beer, talk about ideas (like in a salon in the olden days!) and just be noisy. However, I'd have to say that the restaurant is failing to completely capitalize on the idea - basically I guess due to the pretty expensive menu, the low-rise furniture (at least the sofa was comfy though) and definitely, the lack of Wi-fi. Such a waste considering the concept was sooo good! 128542

When I was there with my friends, a group of university students went in as well, seeming really interested in the place but ended up leaving after seeing the menu. My friends and I ended up being the only ones there and we ordered the following: Ginger Pork Ramen (around P200), Spaghetti O's (P320) and the Burrito (P400) [not the exact names since I couldn't find their menu online yet].

I had the ramen and to be brutally honest (sorry!), it wasn't really that satisfying nor comforting despite it being a recommended dish. I had a bite out of the Spaghetti O's too and the pasta was shaped like O's (cute!). But again, being brutally honest (sorry, again!) it was something I could have created at home for a cheaper price and a much bigger serving. 128532

To be fair though, Skull & Bones is just in its soft-opening but this should actually be clearly communicated too since I saw some people dodging the restaurant thinking it was actually closed. 128547 I do hope things can get better for Skull & Bones. Maybe, the group can think their menu through again or pinpoint what university students actually care about (very price sensitive people, Wi-fi, partner with Zap or orgs for discounts, more beer choices or draft? Yea...128556)

*P.S. Sorry for all the negativity! I really am just trying to be critical. Feel free to comment if you think otherwise or if you have violent reactions. Huhuhu 128534

Tried the Skull Crusher burger during their soft opening. It was tough to eat because of its size. The burger had a lot to offer though. They have burritos, sandwiches and salads. Fries with gravy and mushrooms was delish. It might be a bit pricey but the quantity is generous. Sounds for the place was upbeat and the couches very comfortable. Nothing memorable though. They serve alcohol so maybe they are more fun to visit at night. Maybe a second visit would help.
