Tried Slappy Cakes for the first time and ordered their MANGO JUBILEE CREPE for P180.
It's made of Crepe, Butter, Mango, Rhum, Sugar and Whipped Cream on the side. 128523

Not a super fan of crepes but this one is an exception! Their crepe had a crispy thin layer with caramelized sugar scattered on top. It's just so good being paired with the whipped cream! Agh I love it! I also got so interested with their All Day Breakfast menu which I hope i'll be able to try in the future!

Treated Mama and Tatay here last week for a family bonding! Solong solo ko sila so I wanted to eat at a restaurant I haven't tried yet. When I saw Slappy Cakes, I remembered all its good reviews here in Looloo so I thought this is the perfect place to be.

Ordered Bacon Benedict, since I saw it as the most popular in almost all reviews. I love everything that has egg but it was not the best that I've ordered so far. Not really a fan of the bun that they used, I think it was pancake so it kinda added more oiliness to the texture of the dish especially that they used poached eggs.

Also craved for their Bacon Carbonara which is a lasagna roll up actually that used carbonara sauce. Funny that the bacon strips were evenly placed in all its corners but hey, it was delightfully delicious! Busog!

Finally I also tried their Adobo Flakes Rice. Supposedly the Bacon Benedict and Carbonara was for Tatay and Mama respectively, and my order was this adobo flakes rice but since they were kinda full that time, I almost ate everything all up for myself!!! They were just taking a taste of everything. Anyway, the Adobo Flakes was a joy! The meat was garlicky which I really like. This one's cheaper in price, I think P180 only and yet it is big and really delicious. Sulit!

I enjoyed the food as much as I have enjoyed being with my parents that day. Good service too! Everyone was pleasant and smiling.

Come here for the pancakes and avoid the other items on the menu, like this poorly made Salmon Benedict. Great idea, sucky execution.

It seriously tasted like the chef was drunk or had no tastebuds. The salmon wasn't fresh as it had this sangsang factor & weird thing is, there were sour parts. Wtf?!

I think I would have been happier buying the angus rice at the food fair right in front of this place. 128540

Late lunch on a payday weekend isn’t a good idea at all. At almost 1PM, all the restaurants were full and queue was long. We were already starving and not in the mood to wait so we chose any resto who had an available table for 4, which happened to be Slappy Cakes.

I really didn’t enjoy my first experience here, and this second one was so-so as well. I ordered the Chicken Steak DIY Skillet with salisbury sauce and steamed rice. It’s the only item I saw that’s grilled. The chicken was overcooked, the sauce tasted like mushroom gravy with Worcestershire sauce, and the steamed rice was dry.

My sister enjoyed her daing na bangus but noticed it was smaller than the first time she tried it. Mom got a salad and she found the serving small. She expected something bigger coz the waiter told her it can be good for two. My dad didn't complain about his tapa so I guess it was okay.

Service was awful and really slow. It was so hard to call the waiter’s attention. We had to follow up twice before they served our food. Wait was about 30 minutes or so. 128529

I was too hungry to even bother taking a nice photo. Haha. 128540

Where there is pancake, I am there. The whole concept is original and fun so we did enjoy ourselves & our tummies too! Their dishes are alright, nothing exceptional but still delicious as it is128515.

Hmmm like many of the others that reviewed this place I'd have to agree that the pancakes are nothing special haha. Also you get tired of the flavor after awhile, so if suggest getting the sampler pack consisting of 5oz bottles of buttermilk, peanut butter, and redvelvet. I would also to suggest sharing a another dish rather than only eating pancakes. Other than that I have to give em props for coming up with an awesome concept!

Slappy Cakes! Slappy slappy slappy cakes! I could not believe it has taken me this long to try this place out. I usually pass by this restaurant and I've always wanted to make art with pancakes. We got their red velvet batter topped with cream cheese and chocolate chips and Bacon Benedict served with iced tea. Both were good to share for two and very delicious, though I would go easy on the salt for the Bacon Benedict's potatoes next time. I wish I could've tasted more from their menu but I was just so full! I guess I'll just have to come back some other time.

Decided to try having lunch here, so we didn't get any pancakes . had the lunch special -pot pots , pulled pork pot roast, it was ok the gravy was good . And we had the maple pork chops , what a disappointment , first it was hard, the breading was so thick and hard like a thick shell , maybe 2mm thick . And inside a paper thin piece of meat , also 2 mm thin, nothing else to say. I peeled the hard shell and ate the paper thin meat which had no taste, no seasoning. What a waste of good restaurant space.

Thank goodness for Slappy Cakes! I've been bugging my boyfriend to go here with me and finally, AFTER MONTHS of demands, fights and alike, we're here! Hehe 128556

We ordered the buttermilk batter, chocolate chips, banana and white cheese. Omg, their batter was just soft that makes our self-cooked pancakes just the absolutely worth going for. What makes it stand out, is the cook-yourself kind of pancake dining experience. For the kids and kids at heart 10084

We also ordered the Toad in a hole and french toasts. Both very big servings that made us take it back home 128556 and the vanilla milkshake was a kinda sweet so i couldn't finish it but oh my, the experience was just SUPERB. 12859112852612852512853612855612851410084

Definitely GOING BACK‼️

People seem to either love or hate this place. I actually like it! Probably because we have a toddler and the experience of cooking your own pancakes is really fun-filled. She screamed, "This is my favorite restaurant" after making her first pancake!

We got one bottle of the buttermilk pancake. It came with (free) maple syrup and mango syrup. We ordered additional toppings: bananas and blueberries. Maybe we got a lucky batch (others have bad reviews on the batter), but ours tasted great! Well-balanced flavor! Pancakes came out fluffy and tasty! Definitely tasted like buttermilk to me. Maple syrup was good. We didn't try the mango syrup anymore. Bananas are just fresh sliced bananas and blueberries were the canned blueberry topping kind. All good enough for me!

Pardon my super crappy pic. It's vapid, I know.

We also got the chicken tenders. It was 5 giant pieces of heavily breaded chicken breast. Imagine a school canteen cordon bleu without the ham and cheese. It came with potato wedges. This dish is not so good but not so bad. It's major plus is the giant serving portion.

Hubby got the beef pot roast. He did not want mashed potatoes and substituted it for more veggies. This is a boring looking dish but it was tasty. Reminded me of the pot roast in Pancake House but with a much bigger serving and without bread. It had the same kind of gravy too (the Pancake House "special" Knorr-gravy).

I would surely go back but ONLY for the pancake experience. Then mains were not very special, really.

Service is touch and go. I read reviews about their terrible service. I now see why; and I think it's not because of the staff. The staff are friendly, quick and competent. The big problem is there are so few of them so getting their attention is a challenge. They should hire more people.

You just pay for the experience of making pancakes with friends-- a good stress reliever but nothing out of the ordinary tastewise.

Drinks were pretty pricey as well.
