I only visit Slice for their Yema Cupcake but it is absolutely one of my favorite cupcakes. It has the old school and bold taste of yema that I used to buy from the "tindahan" back in the province. The cake was moist and helped in balancing the sweetness of the cupcake.

Highlight Number 3 of my Podium visit was the Chocolate Yema Cupcake from Slice Express 128523 (it was my cheat day yesterday that's why medyo one time big time ang sweets consumption ko 128540)

I loved how the cupcake looked. The presentaion was so nice, you could tell it was made with careful precision and care. While I found the yema on its own extremely sweet, it blended well with the moist chocolate cupcake it was resting on. I especially liked how the cupcake wasn't airy like others sometimes are.

For me, another sweet that lived up to its hype 128077

PS: pansin ko lang halos lahat ng reviews ko tungkol sa sweets...hindi halatang mahilig no? 128540

Maybe hindi lang talaga ako mahilig sa sweet or sa dami ng masasarap na cupcake na natikman ko, this one taste like ordinary, too sweet for me, the caramel in the top taste like cheap brand of condense milk and boiled to caramelized it. Pero unfair the presentation is so beautiful "mas masarap tingnan kesa kainin."

Would be best appreciated in probably three bites tops. Anything more than that is too much, too sweet.

Didn't get a picture or got a taste of the cupcake. Bought it for a friend on the way to work. She loved it though. Then again, who wouldn't love a surprise.

It was a bestseller. I'm not sure if it's a red velvet. I just remember it having a mountain of chocolate toppings i think. Probably miniature kisses in shape.

It was Dec 24 and I wanted 6 chocoyemas and 6 red velvets. Ate said no more chocoyemas but they MIGHT get a delivery. Asked her to text me when the chocoyemas come. And she did! I went home with these babies for my family!!:) Thank you, slice!

I may not be the one who went there but apparently the moment I saw this on Instagram from a celebrty I wanted to try it. Yesterday my bestfriend bought me 4pcs of their choco yema cupcake. It is a must try! I really loved the taste of the yema paired with the chocolate moist cake. It felt like I was having the traditional yema with a twist! Very filipino! 128077128077128077

One of the best choco cupcake I've eaten. I think it's because of the delicious but sinful yema frosting. 128586

Soooo after food shopping.. Haha.. We literally have our hands full of foods in paper bags haha.. We passed through this and thought I wanted to try the yema cupcake even when I'm already full. 128055 Talk about food trippin'.

The yema topping was really good, the cupcake was good too-moist and has just the right amount of sweetness. A very good combination. :)

Been seeing Sir Francis Maple Bacon every time I get my usual stash from Slice. So it's about time to try one.

Searched the internet and found out that Slice's Sir Francis Maple Bacon is a Tahitian vanilla cupcake with maple cream cheese frosting and bacon bits.

My verdict: It tasted...meh!128533 I mean, it was okay but the flavor didn't pop out for me. I love bacon but I didn't like how it tasted together with the cream cheese frosting.

I might have weird taste buds as some friends had been raving about this particular cupcake. Thank God Edward V was home to finish it or else I have wasted P90. I think he liked it though.

I will stick to Choco Yema, Red Velvet and their Chocnut cupcake variety.

Bought choco yema and red velvet cupcakes on the way back to the office from lunch at Brasas last week. As always, choco yema didn't disappoint. Unfortunately the red velvet cupcake did. 128542 The cream cheese frosting was not so cream-cheesy at all. The cake itself was dry.
Haist, I guess my search for the best red velvet cupcake in Manila continues. Nothing compares to the red velvet cupcakes my friend's sister makes. Too bad she now lives in Canada.

Been dying to try this but even though Podium is just blocks away from the office, I can't seem to get a hold if it. Great thing, my super lovely best friend/foodie buddy/favorite officemate (haha) got me this as a surprise! Lol.

It stayed in the office ref for a good 10 hours before I finally divulge this but it stayed moist and soft. Surprisingly, it is not as sweet as I expected which is a good thing. Yema+chocolate may seem umay level of sweetness but no. It was just right. I enjoyed it very much.

Not the best cupcake but there was this luxurious, almost royal feeling in every bite. Quality perhaps.

Fancy a healthy snack? Try Slice's granola munchies (can't remember the exact name). Not only healthy, but tastes great too!

This pack have cinnamon granola, cranberries, raisins, almonds and pecans. I eat this with plain yogurt and a little honey. Other times with fresh milk or as is.

Okay, so I don't really get what's the hype about red velvet cupcakes and I rarely find ones that I like, but I must say that I loved Slice's. I am not a red velvet expert to be the best judge, but I felt that this version was a winner.

I've tried the highly rated choco yema and didn't like it as much as I liked this. I loved the perfectly moist cupcake base with a denseness not too rich nor too light. It was darker and a bit more chocolatey than the others I have tried too.

The cream cheese topping lacked the tanginess, but in my opinion blended just right with the mild chocolate base. It wasn't overly sweet or nakakaumay at all. This is one type of food that exemplifies simplicity at it's finest.

I don't really care what red velvet is supposed to taste like or if Slice's version is close to that, but I liked it and would probably get another when I come back to Podium.

Had a chance to try slice cupcakes at last!

The verdict:

Yema - 11088110881108811088 find it too sweet i cannot eat the whole cupcake in 1 seating but it was moist.
Strawberry - 1108811088 sweeter than yema? Why?
Red velvet - 1108811088 nothing spectacular
Peanut butter - 110881108811088 for peanut butter lovers, you will enjoy this!

Felt like I never left BGC. In front of me was a stall selling Slice cupcakes, beckoning me to have some choco yema which I haven't had in a while. So I caved in and had the red velvet as well. Still my same oh so favorite moist sweet cupcake.

Noticed they're opening a Wildflour branch on this floor as well. Hmmm...

I actually bought two flavors, their bestsellers, Choco Yema and Red Velvet but my sister ate the latter. 128532 The Choco Yema is heavenly good. I wish they have a bigger cupcake size. P75 for the Choco Yema and P95 or Red Velvet.
