If you're on a tight budget while in Boracay, aside from Andoks you can consider Smoke as well. Their best seller is Bulalo which tastes good at 300 good for 4 persons I think. We also tried their breakfast meal, beef salpicao (~Php 150). The beef is not tender, but I think it is fine and edible. hehe. Plus, the taste is good. :) The only thing I don't like here is their place because it is sooooo hot inside. BTW, they now have 2 branches one at DMall and the other is at DMall Palengke. 128522

It was time for late dinner when we can't still decide which restaurant to eat at. Mexican, Filipino and American were a few of the choices but we found that our tummies were leading us to a part of D Mall where locals and foreigners meet in between.

We found Smoke at the far end part of D Mall, almost on the farther part of it that's close to the main street already. Smoke is a very chill, local looking restaurant that's just a classier version of a carinderia given its interiors.

Smoke had these yellow lights that gave it a very inviting look. They had wooden rectangular tables and chairs and the place can accommodate a few number of people. Once their elevated part is full, they have more tables and chairs at the walkway part.

Their menu had mostly Filipino dishes that are served in different ways but mostly grilled. I found it hard to decide if I'll eat rice that night but I found a dish that I can't resist to not eat rice --- the Pork Pad Kao!

More than Filipino, this Thailand famous dish is actually so close to my heart as I am such a lover of salty food. With its ingredients including pork, scrambled eggs, Indian mango and bagoong, oh man, I got sold!

The dish came in a sumptuous serving. It had this sticky type of rice that's actually filling and fulling. It's like the suman texture and I actually loved it.

The pork was a bit hard to chew though but the strips were thick and really generously served as toppings.

The eggs and mangoes on the sides were always a favorite combination of mine in dishes. I loved how well combined all the elements were with the bagoong.

This dish is just the regular Bagoong Rice but with its price of 120php, it's really cheap and really yummy at the same time. Will definitely go back and try more of their dishes.

Smoke is one the most well reviewed place when I was researching about a place to eat in Boracay. The place is hidden in the back of D'mall. It's a small hole in a wall kind of place. We arrived to eat at around 2pm but there were still lot of tourist eating in the place. We were able to get a table inside but it was very hot inside. Now I know why everyone was waiting for a table outside. Inside was like kitchen hot inside. 128524

So we ordered a simple lunch meal. An order of their famous Bulalo, Sizzling Spicy Squid and egg ampalaya. Bulalo has a good serving size. Meat was tender. Soup was okay but nothing special. Maybe I was just expecting too much, a Tagaytay like Bulalo. Sizzling Spicy squid, this one is good love the spiciness of the sauce very good mixed with rice. For the egg ampalaya just the typical Egg amapalaya found in canteen. We ordered that just to balance the bulalo with veggies. Hehe..

Overall this place serve good food but nothing worth raving about. Maybe the charm of the place is the price is cheap for a resto in Boracay. I will recommend this place for a budget friendly meal in Boracay and the Spicy Squid.

We tried a lot of food. So i can give you a lot of i sights. Beef salpicao was amazing. It's not the traditional beef salpicao you eat. The burger steak, again amazing. I think it's an under-rated menu but it's really good. Chicken pineapple has so much vegetables. It was good but if you're looking for a chicken appetite stay away. Sweet and sour fish. It was great considering i'm not a big fan of sweet and sour. The taste wasn't powerful enough to negate the fish's flavor. Sizzling bulalo was good, but i think the marrow was combined eith the sauce. There!

Finally tried it here and it was an awesome experience! 128516 True to the other reviews, the Beef Salpicao was indeed delicious! 128525 The meat was just a bit tough, but it's still ok. 128513 The sauce makes up for it. Sizzling Bulalo was just ok. I'd still come back. 128077🏼

Not at the beachfront.... It's along with the palengke.
If you wanna go cheap, try this! 160 to 200.
However do not expect much.

Bulalo was too salty, meat is tender and marami.you may ask for refill

The sinigang has blue marlin fish. Asim level not remarkable..

The beef salpicao was not tender

The pinakbet was a bit spicy. Kulang sa bagoong. We tried to ask for bagoong but may bayad daw.

The pork padkao is salty cause it has a lot of bagoong. Pork not so tender

Order their fish salpicao!
The sauce they use tastes interesting.

I wonder why this is jampacked.
A lot of koreans chinese.
Mainit precaution..
Service quite fast.. Even though ang dami tao

Food is good and the price is also okay but when we visited there, it really lived up to its name- it was really smokey as hell. I mean, it's great to have your food cooked as you order it but it's different when it the smoke bothers you already.

Service is just meh. Haaaaay.

Affordable but tasteless food. Completely forgettable!

We ordered Bicol Express, Grilled pork, buttered shrimp, spicy squid, bicol express, and khao pad.

All tasted miserable.

Pretty good food. Nothing out of the ordinary - just the usual food served in filipino canteens, but good quality and taste.

Sizzling Bulalo! Another great place to eat when you're on the island paradise of Boracay. Very affordable, great tasting pinoy food with a twist, would be the best description for Smoke. It has become so popular to visitors that they now have 3 branches all thoughout the island. 1 in D'Mall, 1 near the wet market and 1 along the main road. The one in D'Mall is open 24 hours. So in case you need to have food after an all night party at 4am or 5am, this is one of the best places to get your Silog meals and of course their all time favorite Sizzling Bulalo. The serving of the Bulalo is good for two, so, you could share it with whoever you're with at that time.

Smoke is most famous in Boracay for their Bulalo.
The restaurant is hidden from the main avenue of Dmall which quite works to their advantage because only the true foodies will search out for this place and mind you they dont run out of customer.

They only have a short menu with a few specialty served on large servings aside from their rice meals. However, we asked them to serve us two rice meal dishes with the rice on a separate plate and they were kind enough to do that.

We ordered the following
1. Crispy Pata
2. Bulalo -- with free sabaw refill
3. Chicken Teriyaki
4. Spicy Pechay
5. Adobong kangkong
6. Beef Salpicao

We all picked frozen iced tea for our drinks.

The food was so good that we all asked for a shameless extra rice. 1500Php for 7pax was very sulit! Hands down to the food and the generous servings. Only thing i didnt like though the placee ia too small and doesnt have an exhaust so prepare to get a bit smelly.

I wish we didn't eat! So pricey! and staffs like hate their work. BIAS! Is that the word? For them giving special treatment to foreigners they're getting friendly but when it comes to filipino customers its like "please don't eat here!" (TaKe note! They are filipino!) So disappointed coz they r recommend for pineapple chicken and i didn't like it. Too sour. Im sorry.

Just to add: thumbs up for your BULALO! 128536
