Madrid Fusion Manila 2016!!!! 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

Overall good experience with the place, ample lighting and ac. I wish their restrooms had bidets though. But there was an abundance of toilet paper so that's fine.

There's a Café Bene downstairs and another coffee shop as well. I wish they put a local coffee shop, fine kahit hipster na coffee shop, so we can promote our own to the thousands of foreigners and delegates who grace this spacious venue. I prefer SMX over WTC.

In the photo: Chef Yoshiro Narisawa of Narisawa Restaurant in Tokyo, the beautiful and inspiring Amy Besa of Purple Yam in Brooklyn and Malate, Chef Fernando Arellano of Zaranda, Es Capdella in Madrid, and Chef Oscar Calleja of Annua in Spain. Three of which are from Michelin Star restaurants in Spain.

Adios! 128111

This was the venue of our learning conference last February... I always think that it's a great location, albeit far from QC... The neighboring mall and restaurants keep you from getting too bored and are great options to pass the time... The nearby hotels make it a perfect location for big events with many out of town guests... In events requiring a huge space, the blank canvas can automatically be transformed... Many, many parking spaces available, so no problem in that regard... Plus it is also pretty accessible to public transportation... Difficult to sell and create ambience though; but then again any event that requires that much space will suffer a lack of intimacy...

I thought the place was just right for the conference, what concerned me during my last visit was their security... My colleague and I were seated at a half-full table on the side (being quite late to the festivities)... Suddenly, a woman took a seat on one of the available chairs... She was NOT one of our colleagues, for sure. She chatted us up, insisting that she was part of the Media people covering the conference. Please, this is not my first rodeo. Everyone seated at the table was too polite to point her out to the staff. It was only when she got a little too, umm, disruptive that the staff zeroed in on her. This particular occurence was probably harmless, but they should really do something about the security. I'm sure no one wants party crashers to their events. Just saying.

Every year, there are at least 2 travel fairs hosted at SMX. It is expected that it will be crowded yet somehow, the security or whoever is in charge of crowd control just can't get it right. A few weeks ago, the first travel fair for the year happened and we went on the first day. I arrived around noon but good thing my mom and sister already bought a ticket for me early in the morning.

My sister was one of the exhibitors and she told a story that happened to her officemate. Officemate had to get out but the security wouldn't let her because it was for entrance. When she went back and had to enter using that same door, same security personnel wouldn't let her in because it was for exit. 128563

Went here yesterday for the travel expo hoping to get good deals. Last year, i was told tons of people will be waiting outside smx as early as 7am and its was the same case yesterday, i arrive at around 930am and the line was circling smx convention like a snake line... ohhh flashback of getting an nbi clearance x3.

Long story short, i was able to get inside and went straight to the section im interested in and when im heading outside, tons of people rushed in and the aftermath is in the picture. 128533

First time here for our PAPJA convention where Psychology students from all over the Philippines come and congregate. The pic is of me and my 2 classmates and some Adamson students (behind us) 9786️ Besides listening to and learning from amazing speakers, we get to meet awesome people from different schools.

During the break, we got to explore MOA for a bit and I actually got to stay and have dinner with a friend after the convention so yay 128525

Our company held our Year End Party here last Saturday and seemed like the whole corporate world shared the same mind of conducting year end parties on the same day and same location.

Going to Pasay on a Saturday was a no joke, especially this holiday season. We spent almost 3 hours on our way here from Muntinlupa, plus the long queue to the parking lot and overflowing party peeps. We can’t blame anyone. Who doesn’t love Christmas?

Our party was held in the function rooms 4 & 5 and it was better than the hall that we had last year (1st floor area). The place was fully carpeted with cool air-conditioning and clean restrooms. Good thing our company got a good caterer as well this time. We were not able to join the raffle since we came in late due to the traffic, but we still enjoyed the night.

Good company. Good friends. I enjoyed my [last] Year End Party. 128076

September 2013. The day i finally had the guts to speak with my forever crush - Lourd Ernest De Veyra. I've been crushing on him since 1998, fancy that, more than a decade of admiration.

Anyway, i braved the beastly weather and went to SMX for the Manila International Book Fair. Bought a lot of books as always and waited in line for Lourd. For those who are nkt aware, he is a Palanca Awardee for poetry. And he has written three books of poetry (Subterranean Thought Parade, Shadowboxing in Headphones and Insectissisimo). Waited patiently and then it was my turn. We chatted for a bit - fangirl fantasies materialised.

SMX is always the venue for the bookfair. The place is huge and can accomodate a lot of bibiliophiles. It can be a lil crowded sometimes but i aint complaining. This is my hapoy place.

The Feast Bay Area sessions here for next few Sundays of the month. It's a well ventilated area. I dint like the restrooms because they were outside though. 128517

Here are some of the awesome cars that were on display at the 2014 Manila Auto Salon!
The Nissan GTR (aka Godzilla) was awesome as well as Kirsten, Carporn Racing's latest RWB.
I also liked Concept One's Subaru BRZ wrapped in fatigue green and that red Toyota FT86.

Philconstruct this november (datem is booth no. 201) and filipiniana party this december!

The place is very appropriate for all kinds of events. The escalator is so high that I couldn't go down in my first time. I have to use the elevator haha!

This has been the venue for Manila Auto Salon in the last few years. And since cars are one of my top/favorite subjects, SMX gets 5 stars!
The RWBs (Rauh-Welt Begriff) were my favorite with no less than Porsche tuner and RWB king Nakai-San gracing the event. The cars were modified here in partnership with another king, Ian King of Car Porn Racing. :)

The Used. Senses Fail. Taking Back Sunday.

These were my favorite bands since highschool. I'm so happy I saw them live. The fangirl in me screamed so many times. Hahaha.

Then Echosmith, my new favorite band. I know all the songs they sang.127908127932127926

Regine E and I have been coming here pretty often, mostly to attend wedding fairs to look for suppliers for our wedding next year. Generally the place is pretty spacious, and it's still amazing how easily they can fill up 3 convention halls full of wedding suppliers providing all sorts of services from invitations to karaoke machines. Even more amazing is the sheer volume of people that attend!

On that note, I do find it weird that security at the front entrance is so tight with metal detectors and all, but at the side entrances, it's like security isn't really present. There's like 2 people using the magic stick and checking your pockets.

Anyway, we enjoyed this trip, and will probably come back to attend more expos as the date approaches.
