127880 Went around Maginhawa yesterday for merienda, and decided to go to Snacks and Ladders because my sisters want to play boardgames. The punny name of the place speaks for itself: a restaurant serves snacks where you can also play some games.

127880 As we enter, we were surprised at the wide space it occupies. There is a big chess board outside, which you can play of course although it's better for photo ops haha. There are some al fresco seats outside too. It's a two storey restaurant, where kids and kids at heart can play different board games. The second floor is more relaxed as you seat on the floor. Unfortunately, we were seated at the first floor because it's full upstairs.

As for the food, we ordered the following:

127922 Dominionachos. Priced at 220 pesos, it's good for four people, but I find it pricey compared to Silantro's nachos. It's also not as loaded as the latter.

127922 Maruya Funnel Cake. It's not exactly a funnel cake haha, but I enjoyed it. The warm dough topped with vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup is refreshing and not too sweet.

127922 Coffee Sago't Gulaman. This is an insult to coffee. Where is the coffee??? It tasted like plain gulaman, which I can buy for less than the price outside.

127922 Strawberry Banana Iced Scrabble. It's okay, really. Banana dominates the taste.

127880 We played Uno, Jenga, and Crabs Against Humidity. Note that to play, there is an additional 50 pesos per person as gaming fee on top of a minimum 100 pesos per person for the consumables. There is also a karaoke you can rent (under the cupboard) and a foosball too (sucks you have to pay for this). There is no time limit, so I guess it's sulit if you plan to stay all afternoon.

My friend Liway invited us to play board games in any cafe at Maginhawa offering the services. The first stop was in Laruan Atbp. but the place was in full house mode thats why they transferred to Snacks and Ladders. They were the first to arrive at Snacks and Ladders. When I arrived at the place they already got their snacks... Meaty Nachos and Milk Shakes. And it's a jam-packed. Most of them are students having fun inside and outside playing their different board games. They even have a giant chess (human size) where you can also play on it. In our table, I can feel the good vibes of the cafe through its interior although its jam-packed and crowded they managed the cafe to be spacious and feel to be accommodated. I also love the staff, they were gracious and attentive to all our needs. Especially if we want to have pictures together... hahaha! 128514

We started our game through scrabble, which I won first... LOL 128514 and then, the very thinkable Qwirkle which I won again... hahaha 128514 and lastly the Jenga, unluckily I didn't win. 128542

For Php150.00 per head you can play your favorite board games at Snacks and Ladders. It comes with Php100.00 consumable on their menu + unlimited board games. A good deal right?

Banana Bohnanza Chicnut (Php115.00) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5

Cafe Mocha (Php100.00) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5

Dominionachos (Php199.00) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5

Just one thing I noticed that the parking space is very limited... around 6 cars only.

Definitely, my experienced with Snacks and Ladders was providential. I will go back here and invite more friends. 128521

Snacks and Ladders is located at Maginhawa St., Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.

A good place to play games with good food! I higly recommend to go here with 3 or more people as most of the games needed 3 or more players to play. I don't discourage couples from going here for their dates, however, since there are games for 2 players as well. However, it would be advisable to come as soon as they're open since most of the popular games (like Jenga, Monopoly, etc) are taken easily.

The nachos and the jenga cheesesticks were great!

The place opens up at 3pm and so we were waiting outside from 2:30pm. But architecturally speaking, the place looks very neat and it looks traditional. Outside, there was a big chess set that's enough for you to carry. And inside, there were shelves that resermbled a board game and there was a loft that you have to remove your footwear before going there. The loft is really cute because a lot of bean bags were arounf the tables and you have to sit on the floor. There were a plethora of board games on their shelf. The food was equally tasty!

I don't know when it started but these Board Games Cafe and Restaurants are suddenly popping out in different places in QC.

First, Ludo and now there are other restaurants that offer not just good food but also board games you can play with your family and friends.

The place is bigger that I thought. I love the vibe when we entered. Well-lit and decorated. Spacious. The wooden tables have space under where you can put your belongings. On the second level, there are more tables (kotatsu), couches, and other board games. Really cozy!

To play, you have to pay 50 pesos for gaming fee and consume at least 100 pesos worth of food per person.

We ordered the following:

Dominionachos
Tuna Cream Pasta
Chix It Poppers
Grilled Parcheesi Sandwich

Drinks:
Banana Bohnanza Chocnut
Gotcha Mocha Hansel
Rack-offee Sago't Gulaman

FOOD: The food and drinks are okay.

SERVICE: The crew are accomodating.

We enjoyed the place and tried several games such as Uno Stacko, Quick Cups, Cards Against Humanities, Balance chairs, and Mapominoes.

I list down the things that annoyed me during our stay.

1. There are missing pieces in some of the board games.

- I really wanted to play Game of the Generals with my friends but there are missing pieces. Two blocks are missing in Uno Stacko.

2. Some players don't return the board games after they use. Some placed it under their table. Board games are scattered in the shelf.

- S&L should have made some rules like: Return the board games after use. Use it with care. Check if the materials are complete before you put them inside the box, etc.

- No one would play with worn out cards or board games. Taking care of it, making sure it's in good condition and investing in protective covers is really a must and will increase it's usability.

3. It's incovenient to get some of the board games because it's behind some of the tables where customers are playing.

4. You are on your own. You get a game and play with it. If you know a lot of board games, good for you. If not, you can read the instruction ( Some game instructions are difficult to understand ah!) or just play with the games you are familiar with.

- I can't help but compare it to Ludo where players will recommend games and teach you how to play it. Everyone there, knows a game or two that they can share to the customers.

- They should have at least one game master who will roam around, check the customers, ask them about their experience, recommend games, etc.

The place was great! The snacks were okay but i do love the strawberry shake since its like scramble with the mallows and powdered milk. I recommend that you ask for a game that will suit you and your friends well. 128522

This place is the perfect getaway after a stressful day. A lot of boardgames fill this beautifully designed wooden board game cafe. I think it is the biggest board games place around, the staff are very accomodating, but sometimes you have to think if you really want to stay in a place full of noisy kids and even rowdier kids-at-heart. The food was okay but our stay here was definitely enjoyable.plus they have a huge snakes and ladders board game. Try it! It's open from 3 pm-12 Mn.

*Palatability*
Dominionachos
P199
The menu says serving is good for 3-4 and indeed it was! I was surprised with the generous amount of nachos served, i'd have to order for sauce again. It is oozing with cheese and ground meat. Although the menu says it had mango salsa, i didnt get hints of this flavour. Overall, it was just okay. Nothing special.

*Price*
Knowing that this is located at Quezon City's most famous food strip, the price is affordable even for uni students. Prepare to chip in between P150-250 when hanging out at this place.
A P50 gaming fee per head is also charged but allows you to play unlimited board games. You are exempted from the fee if you didnt play any games at all.

*Personality*
If you are looking for a place where you and your friends can hang out, this is the place to go. Whether young or young at heart, customers would love to experience playing board games with their friends trying to beat each other out. There was a vast collection of board games, 80% of which I am not familiar with. Haha. Their tables have been designed for playing as each side had a pocket.
The staff is accomodating and is attentive to your needs.

Go here for the experience, not really for the food.

A good place if your killing time with friends and family, surely you'll need lots of time to play those fun and brainy board games that they have.

You can indulge in their snacks too i liked the nachos and their shakes, a bit small on their servings for their other dishes but all were delicious:)

Definitely coming back for the game called cups hahahha im pretty sure about the name :))))) super fun!

Went with my friends to hang out here one Sunday afternoon since we were all free. Aaand board games + good company and hopefully good food and drinks = a great time!

The place has some parking spaces in front leading to the doorway. There are some tables and chairs outside in addition to those on the inside. Plus, there's a second floor filled with low tables, beanbags and pillows. Perfect for a more laid-back vibe. I also love the fact that the stairs doubles as a shoe deposit area with holes under them. Post-its with messages decorate the wall upstairs and there's a huge snakes and ladders game hung up as well (functioning!). Board games are stacked onto wooden shelves around the place and they have a pretty good selection of games. Aside from the board games, you and your friends could also avail of the karaoke or foosball area. You initially have to pay 150 pesos for use of the board games, 100 pesos of which is consumable for food and/or drinks.

As for their menu, they offer some snacks, rice bowls, pastas, pastries and desserts as well as cold/hot/alcoholic drinks. Prices are mostly in the 100 to 100+ peso range. I decided on their Strawberry Banana Ice Scrabble for 109 pesos, and their But Wait There's Smores for 159 pesos. My friends got french fries for 79 pesos, some drinks as well and the crispy liempo rice bowl for 139 pesos.

The strawberry banana drink was a definite no-no for me. It was too sweet and tasted really artificial. 128534 I could barely finish it. The smores and liempo were okay. Nothing to really write home about their other drinks as well. The fries had a super small serving for 79 pesos. 128546 One of my other friends recommended their nachos but we weren't able to try.

Staff were fairly friendly but often forgot our requests so we had to keep asking them.

I'd say that this place is one of the nicest-looking board game places I've been to but their food and drinks are kind of meh. Buuut it's still a really good place to hang out with your friends and pass time in a really fun way! I'm gonna have to give them a 3.5.

If you're here to play with your friends, then visit this place. Me and my friend were a little bit hungry and tired after our enrollment so we decided to go here. We ordered their Flirty French Fries (79), Burger Steak (139), and Banana shake (109). We were first hesitant on buying the burger steak but we were so hungry and when our orders arrived, we were so disappointed. 128531 It didn't taste good and it was overpriced!!! We should've just eaten at Jollibee diba... 128557 Their french fries was good but WTH 79 pesos for a very small serving?! Seriously... IT WASN'T WORTH IT! Lastly, the shake was kinda good. Sana puro shake nalang binili namin 128557

For their service, we were pissed off bc I told the waiter to transfer us upstairs (since it was packed when we came) when there are available space BUT SHE DIDNT TRANSFER US tapos yung mga mas late na dumating samin, pinaakyat sila agad WTF 128545 The waiters are also slow and they were not attentive with the needs of the guests 128078 The only waiter that was very attentive was this guy who I presume is the son of the owner... Kudos to him! Pls fix your service and your food 128544128544128544

PS Seriously, I really want to come back but I don't think it would be worth it... I'd rather go to other board game places you know... And one more thing, it feels like Maginhawa have so many places to eat but their quality is not maintained. Quality >>> quantity

If your looking for a place to hang out and possibly play some board games, then this is the place for you. Snacks and ladders offers a wide array of board games to choose from and they have a big place for you to play. For unlimited games, your minimum order is 150, wherein only 100 is consumable, while the 50 is allotted as gaming fee. There is also a separate fee for the futsal and for the videoke.

They also offer foods and drinks, but for me and my friends, the foods are overpriced for its taste and quality. Then, the serving size is relatively small too.

The staffs are also not attentive. She already served some of the orders without giving utensils. Then, when you ask for watet, it takes time before it arrives, same with the tissue. Yes, they are minor flaws, but they are expected and mandatory services for this kind of business.

Birthday salubong of bebe boy hehe 10084
Went maginhawa trippin last night and this was our first stop. If you'll go there in groups, each person must pay 150php for you guys to try their board games. This rule is such a bummer bc we went here to chill lang naman not to eat talaga bc this was just our first stop.
i ordered their banana chocnut but didn't get my order right bc when we were asking the server what this drink is, she said it's the gotcha hansel so I gave it to my friend who ordered hansel. In the end, I had the hansel and he said banana chocnut was soo good I was so jealous hahaha chos
Gotcha hansel tasted like hansel literally. I mean you can still feel the powder of the cracker after every sip. Their straw is made of paper so after a few minutes lanta na yung straw mo. We asked the waiter for a new straw three times bc of that
If I were to choose between the Appraisery and here, I'd still go to Appraisery kahit na mas malaki yung place dito tsaka kahit na S&L has free wifi.
