Went here a month ago and now we're planning on going back again 128516 This hidden gem in Eastern Visayas is definitely one of the best places I've been to.

The place is located in Basey, Samar. We went straight here after our arrival in Tacloban airport. Commuting is a bit hard though from our experience. From Tacloban airport we took a jeep and a trike going to the New Bus Terminal, then a jeep again going to Basey (that passes through San Juanico Bridge) and took habal-habal going to Sohoton.

At our arrival, we paid certain fees and the guide gave brief instructions to us. We took a pumped boat going to Sohoton Cave. The view was amazing! When we arrived, we were greeted by a group of locals singing. From there, we were given helmets for safety.

The entrance of the cave looks like a cathedral. So lucky we were the only tourists that time, no other noise, you can hear droplets of water and bats inside the cave. There were many stalactites, stalagmites and other limestone formations inside the cave that really amazed me. From animals formation, to religious and body parts. Even some limestones can also produce different sounds. 128076🏻 The tour inside took about an hour and a half.

After the cave tour we headed straight to the Natural Bridge, which is a 15-min kayak ride. You can either do the rowing or you can ask a guide to do the exercise for you. 128539 We chose the later so we can enjoy the view and take pictures.
The place is so surreal and so peaceful. We stayed here for an hour doing swimming, cliff diving (my favorite part) and of course, taking a lot of pictures.

Hope the Sohoton Cave and Natural Bridge preserve its beauty. 128522

A sidetrip during our fieldwork. The place is great - very peaceful.

Better have your imagination prepared or you won't enjoy your visit.

Also, be sure to arrive before 5pm. Boats are no longer available beyond that time.
