My girlfriend and I are sick from something we are here last night.

I knew something was weird...the place was empty and you had waitresses clapping to get people to come in.

I'm not sure if it was bad curry or MSG but I feel like a mess.

Never again

Trying out this joint's Pad Siew. It's good. Will be back. Quiet hideout for distressing escape. 128526 #soi #atc #thai #foodporn #foodgram #foodpost

I'm not really into oriental food but this one is good! Their tom yam soup was great! First time to eat Thai food and I was not disappointed.

Still in search of the best Thai resto in Manila besides Benjarong...

We ordered Fried Spring Rolls, Tom Yam Gung, Pad Thai Vegetarian, Chicken Satay, Bagoong Rice and Pandan Iced Tea pitcher. Our order was good for 4 but there was only the hubby and me! And yes, clean plates!!! 128055128061128055

While waiting, we were served some chips and spicy peanuts and together with the pandan iced tea were a nice start.

The pandan iced tea was served with shaved ice and it tasted (and looked) like mild sago't gulaman (without the sago and gulaman). 128513 Refreshing but not overly sweet.

Next came our soup and while it is generous with 5 pieces of prawns and had the right balance of sweet, sour and spicy, it somehow lacked that distinctive burn on the throat.

The fried spring rolls is the usual lumpiang shanghai, nothing spectacular.

I got the vegetarian pad thai knowing I would be eating all the prawns from the soup. 128513 It was a good one except that the noodles were thinner than the usual pad thai I know.

Hubby got the bagoong fried rice and while he was able to finish it (serving was for 2), he said it could use more sweet pork and minus the salted egg. He said he's had better though.

Last came the chicken satay which had 2 sauces for dips, peanut sauce and some sweet clear sauce with cucumber and onions. Chicken was tender and we liked the peanut sauce better.

Overall, good experience and we would come back if craving for Thai food.

My sister and I were walking around ATC yesterday. When we got to the cinemas area (near North Park), there was a strong fish stench. We followed it since we wanted to know what it was. It wasn't in Cabalen as we thought. It was coming from SOI, a Thai restaurant! It was the smell of bagoong! The waiter said their exhaust fans broke thus the smell. That's what led us to the restaurant.

We were walking for quite a while and got hungry. So, we decided to try this place. I was also craving for Pad Thai and they had it! Perfect! We ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Fried Spring Rolls. It was pretty good! Really tasty! I wish they used thicker noodles though. Aside from taste, I really loved the presentation of the food too! I'd definitely like to try their other dishes some time. I saw different types of rice (including bagoong rice! haha) and other appetizing viands! :)

Tip for hungry people: Follow your senses! Hahaha :)
