Shabby Chic! That’s the first description I had in mind. After a year, we went back to Boracay from April 5-10! Yes, that’s 6 days! (Before the temporary shutdown). I discovered this place with IG post of fellow looloo-er slash blogger, Cai. Its just so nice and highly instagrammable
Upon our arrival, Its not the usual hotel, that has a lobby. It is situated in a building and occupying the 3rd floor. Sol y Sombra has only 5 rooms. As soon as we entered, I’m happy with the place. Its clean and so nice!
They provided toiletteries, towels, and hair dryer. Our room has 2 queen size beds.. with clean sheets. Airconditioning is good. And most important, comfort rooms are clean with heater.
The place is near, Shoretime (Station 1). Its not in the beachfront. But we find it accessible, since the beach is just across the hotel.
Hotel staffs are accomodating and polite. They got everything we ask (massage requests, adaptor, new towels, etc!)
Price is reasonable. For our 6 days, we paid P22,200 (4 pax)

Going to Boracay for the past 7 years has been my yearly thing so last summer, we decided to go not for Laboracay but just to chill. We booked April 27-29! #TitasofManila
We wanted to try something new and instagrammable so we booked at Sol Y Sombra, located at Station 1. It's not beachfront but it's like 15 steps away from the beach.
Total room rate: 14k for 2 nights
We've arranged pick up ahead of time so it wont be a hassle when we arrived at Caticlan jetty port.
We had a hard time looking for the hotel because it's actually upstairs. It's just a small hotel. The reception area is on the 2nd floor as well. The first thing I noticed was the isle chandelier, it's really beautiful The front desk staff was also very accommodating. She even asked if we wanted something to drink!
When we entered the rooom! I was like ->
Ayoko ng lumabas! Haha! We had 4 beds and the room was perfectly designed. I loved every corner!
The hotel is also accessible to ministop convenient store, medical clinic and ATM just downstairs so after our night party, we can still buy stuff and even go the clinic if needed! Lol! Good thing there's no hangover 🏻
It would be better if they will have more rooms or expansion downstairs. It's always fully booked because they only have 4 rooms in total. You really need to book ahead of time.
