Just tried this place jn Session Road and we really enjoyed it! Ordered the Sinigang na Hipon and Bicol express with a "platter" of Java rice. The serving was really nice and the "platter" of the java rice was really cute.

The sinigang had the right amount of sourness but I was looking for more spiciness from the Bicol Express. The waiting time was also quite long but nevertheless, the food was really good. Would definitely recommend!

The best puto bumbong that I've ever tasted. 12807610084 Puto bumbong cost (50php).
They also have different filipino dishes like Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Pancit and etc.

The best way to beat this cold and wet weather is hot soup. And what better place to have comforting home style soup than Solibao.

Solibao, specializing in Filipino cuisine, has been serving its Baguio residents since 1972, and has been one of the local favorites.

I was too lazy to cook today, but I was wanting for something warm and comforting. And to satisfy my want, I ordered their sinampalukang manok (₱225). I've always enjoyed this dish from them. The tanginess from the tamarind and tomatoes of the savory broth, the tenderness of the native chicken, and the crunch of the sweet vegetables serves up a delicious contrast of flavor and texture.

I had also ordered pinakbet (₱225) for takeout. I love how they use Vigan bagnet instead of sautéed pork. Bagnet brings out more flavor, and adds extra texture to the dish. Also, the ample amount of garlic they put gives it an extra kick.

Solibao has been there whenever I have cravings for delicious home cooked meals. Yes, there are carinderias and other Filipino establishments that serves similar dishes, but the food Solibao has is like a warm blanket on a cold day; like today. Solibao's food, to me is the true definition of Filipino soul food--it feeds the soul.

When we went to Baguio, an article on 15 amazing Baguio eats has been doing rounds on social media. The curious in us were trying things that were convenient for us to try. Mind you, the traffic was crazy so we were stuck in the vicinity of Session Rd. and Burnham.

It was freezing when we chanced upon Solibao. Their puto bumbong instantly came to mind (yep, because of the food article). They had a take out counter where you can also eat in hurry. We saw the bystanders eating puto bumbong and boy it looked delish. It did not disappoint. I kid not when I say it's the best puto bumbong I've tried. Pure ube, generous topping of muscovado sugar and butter! It costs P49 for 3 strips and my husband was able to chug in 4 orders haha!

I ordered kare-kare and crispy dinuguan. Everytime we eat at filipino restaurants i always order kare-kare and i really dont know why. The price range of the food is cheap and their serving is good for 2 persons. :) i didnt have a chance to taste their shawarma.

If you want to have Filipino food in Baguio, Solibao's a good place to go to. It's good and cheap too.

Try their pancit luglug and puto bumbong! :) they have puto bumbong shake too, if you're adventurous.

Long wait for food that does not deserve the wait. The lechon kawali was probably the most okay among all that we got. The kare-kare which was highly recommended was disappointing, bland and watery.

I feel bad for them. I hope it was just a bad day in the kitchen.

We had our brunch at Solibao after a 5-hour drive from Manila. The restaurant is located in the midst of the busy Session Rd.

Although I find the waiter to be attentive, I am not really impressed with the service. No repeat order and expectations as to how long do I have to wait before my food is served was not set. I ordered Pork binagoongan with garlic rice. My hubby ordered beef tapa with java rice. When our orders were served they mixed up the rice. The binagoongan doesn't really taste like it has bagoong. But the vegetables that they serve is superb! Fresh, crisp and totally delicious.

If I am to go back here, I'd still drop by at Solibao only to order Vegetable meals.

after a looong 6 hr drive from manila, lunch was at solibao. ordered kare kareng bagnet, chop suey, sizzling bangus, and puto bumbong for dessert. ditch everything except the kare kare! my dad's kare kare (with fresh ground peanuts and malagkit) has always been my standard; i've frowned upon juanita's version, amongst others, but solibao's did not disappoint! thick sauce, crisp veggies, and crackling bagnet. Our total bill with iced teas for all( we were 4): P1150.
