...and for many reasons I love staying at SOMERSET MILLENNIUM MAKATI because it's "somer" relaxing, "somer" comfy, and "somer" breakfast is delicious. #loolooweeklychallenge

Quick staycation to get us thru the next few weeks!128513

We bought a voucher from Deal Grocer for a one bedroom suite overnight stay... This already included breakfast for 2 people the next day... We were choosing between this and another hotel, but the location was really good so this won out in the end...

Staying in Makati over this holiday weekend was pleasant, uneventful and quiet... Just what we wanted- a break from the hustle and bustle of daily activities...

It was difficult to check in. They didn't want to let us park without having had checked in already... So we parked on the street, checked in, parked and brought down our things. It really felt counterintuitive to ask your guests to do this. I'm just happy that it was a Sunday and we didn't encounter any problems at the very strict Makati streets...

Somerset is a serviced residence, encouraging long-staying clients. They went over their rules with us and I found it tedious. They don't automatically give you toiletries, you have to request for it. And they only give one set unless specified... They don't renew this set if you stay for more than a night... They don't have robes available at the rooms either...

The room had a small kitchenette, a dining area, a living room and a separate bedroom and bath... They provide complete utensils in case you decide to cook. The suite had two TV sets, one in the living room and one in the bedroom... This let me watch ANTM in peace!128517

The bathroom had a tub and there was a separate shower... The tub doesn't have hot water but at least the shower does... It was just sad to take a cold bath in the tub. 128513

The bed wasn't firm... They provide a total of four pillows, but not the kind we liked... Much too "down" for my taste... A/C was also weird btw... It would alternate between warm and cold... Really weird...

Calling the staff was just a nightmare... It takes them 1-2 hours to answer your call... My bf's request of a fresh towel (he used his when he took a dip on the pool) was never delivered to the room... Wifi was also spotty and not working properly... Some of the electric sockets in the room weren't working, another weird thing... My bf thought he was charging his phone, but apparently he wasn't...128544

The pool on the 10th floor was sooo cold... I could barely stand on the steps... And they don't provide towels in the pool area either...

Breakfast at their restaurant was okay. They have a buffet set-up with limited choices. Remember you have to request for stuff before they provide it. At least the staff were nice...

Overall, the stay was okay... Better suited to long staying guests I suppose. But I wouldn't recommend it to those looking for a quick staycation.

Not sure if I'm reviewing the right place. Hahaha is this the one beside Manila Pen? 128540 Anyway...

After staying overnight at The Pen, my relatives moved here so they can have a bigger space during their last week in Manila. We visited them several times after work so I got to see how nice the rooms were. Spacious and comfy. It has its own kitchen, separate bedroom and a living room. You can also cook your own meals since they provide the electric stove and microwave. Even plates and other utensils were readily available for use. 128522

We booked via Agoda which turned out to be cheaper than booking thru the hotel's sales agents. 128513
