We loooooooooooove Sonya's Garden so much! The relaxed, chill, and nature-y vibe, the food, the pastries, and just simply everything about this place. 128525128525

Whenever we visit, it's a must that we buy from the panaderia. Our favorites are the Cheese Hopia and Spanish Bread. The Pandesal and Adobo Rolls/Pandesal are also good. And oh, the fresh "organic" salad, too. With edible rose petals just for 150 pesos. 128077🏼

Most of their pastries are kind of pricey. For example, the cheese hopia and spanish bread are 150 pesos each. But I swear, it's worth it! And it's not all the time that you get to visit Sonya's Garden. 128521

My brother planned a weekend lunch in Tagaytay for parentals' Anniversary. Hahaha! We chose Sonya's secret garden thus mom wanted organic and fresh greens, no meat, more veggies. It was a little far from the city so when we got in Tagaytay, it was already past lunch time. Please do come in early 'coz there are times when it gets rough because of heavy traffic. The place was far from the main road so you might get lost too. Be attentive to signage.

The area was big. It was not just a dining area but they also have function rooms, boutiques, bakery and other shops. The place has green house effect matching the natural vibe. The food choices was few. They have freshly picked greens, homemade dressings, toppings that varies from nuts, fruits, even flowers. You'll get to eat flowers. They also have pasta that you could choose from two sauces. No meat. They use mushroom as an alternative. Sweet potato for dessert. We were a little disappointed knowing the dishes because it was that few and not so good.

After our lunch, we decided to roam around and took some photos 'coz the place was nice. We also bought ourselves some breads, checked out other shops mostly were fragrances, home remedies, home furnitures and designs. They also have spa area where you can extend your relaxation.

We also went to the proposal area. It was such a simple yet beautiful place to propose. Filled with flowers, romantic set up, dinner just for two. So lovely! 10084

I have been targeting to visit a hidden yet well-known “gem” near Tagaytay for quite some time now. Fine, it has been years, two or three years to be more precise. But for some reason, my parents were always busy and my friends were not very fond of out of town adventures. But this a couple of years back seemed to be nice to me as I finally got to cross out one of the items on my to-do list—a trip to Sonya’s Garden.

I am the type of person who plans out my own birthday. I make sure that I will get to eat good food on my special day (and the day before and two days before that too as I just love birthdays). Hey! I don’t think it is being a spoiled brat or anything like that. I only get to have the right to demand to be special in one out of 365 days! Anyway, going back to Sonya’s Garden…

As mentioned, I have been pestering my parents to bring me there on my birthday, for my mom’s birthday, for my sister’s birthday, Christmas, and yes, even Halloween! And every time, I fail to convince them. But this year was different. My friend N and my mom had a secret connivance and decided to surprise me by having my birthday lunch there. It would have been a superb surprise if only my mom didn’t tell me 2 weeks before the actual lunch. [Surprise… FAIL.]

Anyway, we left Manila before 10 a.m. as we wanted to be there by noon. The place was a bit hidden so we all had to keep our eyes open as soon as we went past a coffee and bread place.

Finally, SONYA’S GARDEN. :D

It was really a… garden. The place had this relaxing ambiance and the surroundings were really pleasant to the eyes.

As soon as you sit down, the servers will serve the salad, various toppings, Sonya’s salad dressing, freshly baked sesame bread, spreads and dalandan juice. (They only offer eat-all you-can salad and pasta at PHP610 per head and special order of chicken.)

The salad was indeed fresh and I enjoyed sprinkling my greens with shredded boiled eggs, mangoes, nuts, turnips, tomatoes, and cucumber.

I fell in love with the bread. It was served warm and it went well with the dips. I love the white cheese, basil pesto, bruschetta tomato topping, and mushroom pate. Other dips served were anchovies, black olive tapenade, and fresh green peppercorn in olive oil.

Next served was the pasta. There were two sauces—sun dried tomato and chicken cream with mango sauce. I prefer the red one as it was richer in terms of taste and the white sauce was a bit too creamy for me.

My sister’s eyes sparkled when she saw the ratatouille as it was her first time to see it. (Quite different though from the cartoon version.)

I enjoyed munching on the salmon belly and the shitake mushrooms. I skipped the others—black olives, capers, and peperoncini.

Next served was a special order of roasted chicken (PHP495). It sure was cooked well. The meat was tender and quite juicy. The serving was quite generous too.

To cap our lunch, we were given a cup of tea and a slice of chocolate cake and turon. We were too full though so we hardly touched the dessert. I had a bit of the chocolate cake though and it was moist and not that sweet.

We spent the next 30 minutes or so taking pictures of absolutely anything we see… pretty.

It sure was one great lunch. Big thanks to my always loving family and N.

This is a romantic place for me. This is perfect for a date or to bring someone you want to impress. This place serves perfect food, some looks ordinary but it taste extraordinary. This is also a perfect place for proposing haha or other celebrations. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant, but maybe a request that they should bring their restaurant or open up more to the city so we won't have to go across the world. Try their teas and cakes, it's perfect combination. They have unique cakes and the tasteful tea. It's not full of sugar or something but it's really tasty and juicy.

Went here for our team dinner the other night because my boss thinks its the best place to bring our foreign sponsors to try something fresh and organic that's not far from Manila. She was probably right - the ladies loved the place, as much as I loved it myself.

It was a very refreshing place to unwind after a long day. And if you wanna eat healthy, this is the place to be. The salad was very nice (specially the edible flowers they added) and filling. I normally don't put dressings in my salad but I think this would be an exception. Also, the mains were tasty, not overpowering but just right.

My favorite though would have to be the tarragon tea and the slice of chocolate cake. I didn't expect the tea to be that flavorful, but it was! And the chocolate cake wasn't too sweet and heavy.

They said it's nicer here in the mornings because you can go around the gardens and enjoy the nature feels that this place offers. Also, you can spend the night here! They offer bed and breakfast services, too. Imagine waking up and having a healthy breakfast with such a relaxing view. Hm, will probably try that next!

We had buffet lunch here after our Taal Volcano trek. The restaurant (shown on the pic) was so lovely. Buffet spread, though not extensive, was filled with healthy & organic stuff 128077🏻 I never thought healthy & buffet can actually go well together128540

Salad station had mixed greens picked from Sonya's garden, fruits like mangoes, jackfruit & pineapples, tomatoes, eggs, cashews, several dressing, etc. Sonya's Super Secret Salad Dressing is a must-try!128076🏻 Good thing you can buy it from their store.

Pasta station offered two kinds of sauce: tomatoes in olive oil and chicken cream with mango. Both were good. Salmon belly, ratatouille, shitake mushrooms & black olives were also available.

Dessert station had sweet potato (minatamis na kamote) and banana roll (turon with langka). They also serve a slice of chocolate cake to your table coupled with a cup of tea. Tarragon tea is also a must-try.

This place is a sure treat to whose who love luscious green gardens. Apart from the restaurant, Sonya's garden also offers bed&breakfast, spa, bakery, store & garden of course 128540 There's even a proposal garden128141 Place would also be ideal for weddings & pre-nup photo shoot 127800

Surprisingly, seemed like there were few people who wanted a massage this Valentines. Anyway, had Sonya's signature massage. Almost perfect except for the fact that my masseuse put baby oil on my face and my hair 🙄

This buffet place is worth every penny. You can enjoy fresh salad, red and white pasta, shitake mushroom, fried salmon, turon, sweet potato, fresh dalandan juice, tarragon tea and unlimited bread with mushroom pate, kesong puti. It also comes with a slice of moist chocolate cake that you will surely like. Plus, ambiance is cool and cozy.

The buffet seems overpriced, especially for the limited variety, upside is that their pastries and breads are quite delicious.

I'm here to rave about their Panaderia, not the main resto. Haha I'm not really fond of breads but I love their spanish bread so much that I can eat 5 in one sitting. They got other yummy products too like cheese hopia and pinwheel cookies.

P.S.
Their bakery is cute too!

A health buff and nature tripper's paradise, Sonya's garden has always been endorsed as one of Tagaytay's must-see treasures. The relaxing and calming ambience of its diverse gardens, coupled with its freshly picked greens served on your table show how such greenhouse can indeed be an investment for both tourism and your tummy. To those meat lovers out there, don't worry. Salmon belly is included in their buffet.

After our lunch at Mesa Sky Ranch, we went to Sonya's Garden to have our massage and buy our favorite Spanish Bread.

The rooms are spacious and it has a shower room where you can take a bath before and after your massage. Each room has a small cabinet with lock & key to place your bag and other valuable items.

Actually, I don't remember how relaxing it was because I fell asleep. My masseuse woke me up dahil stretching na lol. Then I was given a tea, its flavorful and sweet. Sabi nung receptionist its a herbal organic Tuisili daw. Anyway, masarap sya.

After the massage, we went to their bakery to buy our favorite Spanish bread.

If you're a rabbit foodie watching your weight, you'll like it here. Rabbit because most of what you'll eat are leafy, organic, healthy food. 128048

I am a rabbit (in more ways than one. heh.) and I love this place. 128522

I've been coming here for years, mostly to eat but sometimes, we indulge in the serenity that their accomodation offers and my love for it hasn't changed. Well, I noticed that the food is a lil bit off now, it's not as fresh as before (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). Maybe because we usually go there on lean days. But since Mama Sonya's dressing hasn't changed its quality, it still somehow compensates for the lack of energy the leafy thingies have.

There are slight changes in the place, the Panaderia is now in the parking area and a new organic boutique called the Apothecary replaced it in its old location. Apothecary means a medical professional who prepares and sells medical stuff, by the way. In modern layman's term, a pharmacist. However, what they're selling there are not drugs but organic home and personal health alternatives. If you're a millenial, you'll probably love this. 128513

Apart from the two new stores, the garden that I love remains the same.. still colourful, still fresh, still green, and naturally peaceful. 128522

I went here for the lunch buffet a couple of weeks back. The place was quite hidden, but worth the "trek" to Tagaytay from the Metro. The food was definitely different and creative, combining textures and flavours that at first glance might scare some people. (Personally, I enjoyed it!) Come with an open mind and a camera. Wish there were more flowers in the garden.
