It’s my second visit to a booming Korean hub near my house. There’s 6 that I know of within 3 buildings around me. This place serves basic traditional Korean. Their food is mostly fried but am glad they serve fresh stuff like Bibimbap. That’s what I had tonight.

For a price of Php 190 for beef bap it was expensive because of its serving size. Not much beef. The bulgogi though was generous and very tasty. Really taste like Korean food from its origin.

Last we had the Bingsu which had milk, almonds, rice cake and graham. I love the ice. It’s like powdered snow! And good price at Php 150. It can serve 2 hungry dessert lovers.

Oh check out the interior and the special promos they have everyday. I took a photo 128522

Place is clean, cool interiors and cozy atmosphere.

Donkatsu tasted like a microwave dinner, lacks flavor and it wasn't juicy. Chicken was underwhelming, but the Bulgogi was good. Their Kimchi was one of best that I've tasted, a little sweet and it didn't have that metallic aftertaste.

Price was worth it, given that they have huge portions.

Service was excellent, they had friendly and accommodating wait staff.

I tried Sopoong's new dish, the Jjajang Ramenbokki. It's a combination of Jjajangmyeon and Ramenbokki with super savory taste. The bowl is huge at P250 and is very filling, I hardly finished my bowl. I'm actually not a fan of Jjajangmyeon but this, I felt, was worth the try and it did not disappointed.

They have lots of other good stuff in their menu and I'm tempted to try them all. :)

Dropped by at Sopoong in Emerald earlier today to try their Kimbap (Korean seaweed roll). I ordered half Vegetable Kimbap for only 50 php. They served it with free miso soup.

After run munchies. I think the last time I ate Korean Food was December 31st and I was really craving for bibimbap. There are about 5 Korean food joints near my place but Sopoong Food House is the one that's always packed.

Set up similar to some Kenny Rogers branch where you order and pay at the counter, settle and wait for your food to get served.

It's not my first time to try their Beef Bibimbap but they made a few changes. (1) They're very generous with the rice and I think it's too much for the amount of fresh and sauteed vegetables scattered around it. I did not enjoy the perkiness of the flavors because there's so much rice. The magic is in the Gochujang sauce. I don't know if asking for extra sauce is free because I didn't try but in the case you dine here, the bibimbap needs extra help (2) Nori. I think this is a good addition because it adds a different element.

"Wala gaano beef" - SAD

I also think they need to provide their customers the option on the doneness of the egg. If they do have that option, I think it would be nice if they proactively ask.

Lastly, (last na). They need some sesame oil. I love dolsot bibimbap and just a few dose of sesame oil will make this rice bowl more satisfying.

I was still able to finish it because it's bibimbap.128514

I tried their Sesame Ramen, checked if they serve it mildly spicy but they don't. So I kinda put myself in a challenge to eat the Korean dish even if it was super spicy. What happened was I ate more of the noodles. Anyway, it was a nice experience, plus they are open till midnight, so convenient for those craving for ramen at night.

As I was having my me-time last Saturday, I suddenly craved for a Hot Korean Ramen 127836128055 then I thought of this korean stop along emerald ave. that I've been wanting to try 128513

Upon entering the restaurant, the servers are very courteous and very warm as they greeted and assisted me to my seat. 128077🏻

I had their Sopoong Ramen for 114php (99php without egg) and half order (6pcs) of their Veggie Kimbap for 50php. All for 164php!!!128561 Who wouldn't love that?! 128525

For the taste, their Ramen is obviously just an instant noodle garnished with strips of carrots, cabbage and pieces of shitake mushrooms which definitely gave a korean kick to the noodles 9786
And for the Kimbap, your 50php is definitely worth it. 128077🏻 great combination of veggies.

Sopoong is definitely a good stop if you're craving for a korean quick fix. 127836 And let's not forget their uber affordable menu 128184

Will definitely come back here 128077🏻9786

SHAVED ICE FROM HEAVEN.
Yes. That must be what Soopong's Injeolmi Bingsu is!
The milky shaved ice with cookie crumbs, sweet red beans, nuts and sweet rice definitely takes this cool dessert to a new level. The milky ice tastes mildly sweet that goes in perfect harmony with the rest of the ingredients.

Shaved ice: more like shaved frozen milk. The texture is so fine, you can imagine you're eating cold cotton. When it melts in your mouth, the cool, creamy taste of the milk seeps into your taste buds, and that's it. Next thing you know, the bowl is almost empty and you're starting to think whether to get another one or come back another day :)

Price: Php290

Soopong is one of several Korean restaurants that have recently sprouted in the Ortigas Centre. Yesterday I waa able to visit the place upon the recommendation of friends and it did not disapppoint.

I sampled their beef Bulgogi toppings and i like it. The meat was very tender and juicy with a tinge of garlic flavor. It was perfect with the small serving of kimchi that was served as a side dish. I hope they could make kimchi servings a bit bigger though.

For dessert I tried the Injeolmi Bingsu, the korean version of halo halo. Shaved ice with milk topped with red beans, bean powder, almonds and walnuts. I loved it because of the light flavo. The milky flavor and the crunch of the nuts was a good substitute to the sweetness which one finds in other desserts.

Sayang I forgot to take photos due to my hunger and excitement. I'll just probably do it next time.

There will always be that friendly neighborhood restaurant that would bring you back memories that you're fond of, and a recent discovery would be this quaint Korean restaurant just walking distance from our office building. It really reminded me of this small hole in the wall restaurant in Myeongdong where we used to have breakfast in during our short stay in Korea. I loved the food there, and this restaurant closely resembled it. I have been here thrice since my initial visit and my usual order would be their Happy Bibimbap, which is basically all-vegetables. However, I order an additional egg to go with it. It costs less than P150 and the serving is good for sharing. This also comes with a complimentary bowl of delicious Seaweed Soup. Talk about a good find, right?

You may also opt to have it for dine-in or take out, but on weekdays, they're usually a full house. They have a good variety of Korean dishes—all priced at an affordable rate and their staff are extra friendly and attentive. Definitely seeing myself dining in/ taking out at least thrice a month– thank God for treasures just like this one!

Not that pricey, servings are so so. Staff are very nice. They serve the foods in less than 15 minutes, depends on your order I guess. We had Bulgogi & Donkatsu (Php250) Beef Bibimbap (Php 190) and half Gimbap (50). They have 20% off everyday for a certain meal. Served with a very tasty odong soup128522

I'm not learned when it comes to Korean Food but there was just something that pulled me into this place. Must have been the cheery atmosphere and the food photos staring right at me.

Not a fan of spicy food, i asked for the least spicy dish. Everything was spicy according to the servers but you can lessen the amount of sauce you mix into the Beef Bibimbap. The beef was cold but that's how the dish is really served. You have to mix everything together. The spice level was ok the first few bites but eventually my lips were burning up. Wish there was more meat in the dish.

Seaweed soup kinda tasted like miso soup. The Royal Tru Grape brought back childhood memories.

There were several Koreans dining in and taking home food. A good indication that this place is serving the real deal.

I wouldn't mind coming back hungry and adventurous. The staff's warm welcome and cheerful greetings as you enter and leave the place is an added bonus.

First discovered this after coming from Chef & Brewer. Their ramens are very affordable (Php99~up). They're targetting the nearby office lunch crowds and some condo residents.

Well it kinda tastes like your usual instant ramen but it tastes kinda tastier and richer (?) lol! Their mildest soup is Soopong Ramen (in photo). It was filling and comforting after having a couple of beers.

Waitstaff are all attentive and service is fast. They deliver within the vicinity.
