I'm now writing this review beside my son and I believe his review already captures what I wanted to say. I just want to say how much I loved this place and how it made my 60th birthday so special.

Photo above is during my birthday dinner "under the stars" set up by my sons with the help of the resort. I will never ever forget that night. :)

I believe it's safe to say that South Palms Resort is my ultimate favorite place in Bohol. First time we went here (around last year), I already fell in love with its beauty and outstanding service!

So for my Mom's 60th birthday, we decided to fly to South Palms and have an amazing four-day weekend there. I love how the accomodations are cheap and yet will make you feel like you're staying in a 5-star resort somewhere in the Bahamas!

Here's a list of my favorite things in South Palms:

1. Very, very friendly staff. They will address everything you want and need. And they will surely make sure everything's accomplished with a big SMILE!
2. Their Cucumber Lemonade. It's a must try!
3. Their insanely great beds and comforters and pillows. They're definitely my favorite things about their rooms. So comfy and I feel like I'm in a hotel!
4. The buffet. Almost everything is delicious! You'll surely be excited to wake up every morning for the buffet because they serve a mountain of unlimited bacon!!!
5. The incredibly peaceful view. It's priceless!
6. Their pools. The infinity pool is my personal favorite!

Here are some tips:

1. Their beach, although very nice, is unfortunately heavy with sea urchins. You don't have to buy expensive aqua shoes because they have aqua shoes rental that's around 170/day.
2. You can request for a dinner set up by the beach or anywhere you want. The resort resto will surely get boring and you'd want to have a different view for dinner once in a while.
3. Kayaks and surfboards are free for everyone!
4. Have a massage in the afternoon or morning. Evening massages tend to be a bit mosquitoey.
5. Lastly, maximize the resort's incredible line of services. You'll be surprised with the many free stuff that come with your stay!

Our stay in South Palms was totally 5-star. I recommend this to all of you guys who are actually getting tired of your usual summer escapes. Bohol is such a wonderful place and your visit will mean so much to the people.

4-11088110881108811088️ only because of the ambience, the private beach and amenities.

What I didnt like:
- the service
- the food (no buffet for lunch only dinner even when there are sufficient guests. Taste-wisebstillmlk
- 6pm curfew for swimming at the beach
- some villa rooms are quite far from the restaurant, hope they can provide buggy service for pickup and drop-off.

I had a lovely 2 night stay at this resort last year. The resort is quite big, with a nice pool area and gorgeous beachfront. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, with the usual amenities and features that you would expect.

Service for the most part was pretty good, except when we checked out. The process took forever and we had to wait a while for our turn as it seemed quite a few other groups were also checking out at the same time and they only had 2 people handling check out.

A big minus point was the lack of beach / lounge chairs. For a big beachfront property such as this, with a large guest capacity, I think they need to add a few more. If you make the mistake of sleeping in, all the available beach chairs are gone and you have to hunt for staff to request for extra chairs.

Apart from that, should you require refreshments while relaxing on the beach, there are usually no wait staff nearby to accommodate your request. You have to make the long walk to their poolside restaurant and order from there - for a 5 star resort and considering how much they charge, I'd expect service to be fantastic. I don't think I pay as much for Boracay Regency Resort (in Boracay, in case you missed it) which is another huge property with a long beachfront like South Palms - yet I never have a hard time finding someone who can take my drink/food order.

Again, I stayed here last year when it was still relatively new so maybe these are just teething problems. I hope service quality has improved as this resort has the potential to be really great. It's got the nice facilities and the pristine beachfront; now it just needs to provide service at par with other 5 star resorts.

When in Bohol for that much needed vacation, South Palms Resort Panglao is always a destination to keep in mind because the place provides an oasis of relaxation and delightful comfort.

South Palms Resort Panglao (formerly Bohol Beach Club) is located in the south end area of Panglao with over a thousand palm trees and the longest white beach in the entire Panglao island.

The friendly Boholano hospitality can immediately be felt as soon as you arrive. Refreshments are served and cold towels are given to you once you alight your vehicle.

The tropical-styled villas are designed by the Boholanos themselves.

Hungry? Oceanica Restaurant serves local and international fare. This is also where the breakfast buffet is served.

South Palms Resort Panglao offers all sorts of relaxation. Their spa service is a must try, too!

South Palms Resort Panglao is just beautiful!
The view of the beach alone is worth the visit.

When at South Palms Resort Panglao, I highly recommend that you order the Sloppy Joe Pizza at the Coast Pool Bar. It’s cheesy, meaty and really good! I wish South Palms Resort Panglao was just a short drive away. I’m starting to crave for this as I write!

Amazing place to stay in for a short vacation. Apart from the pristine beach (though I find Bohol beach Club's better because sand seemed finer, no seaweeds or rocks), the great food and cool amenities, what really stood out was how professional and friendly the staff were. They greet you with a smile whenever possible, they initiate help by asking if you need this or that, it really made me feel like a princess!

Buffet (lunch/dinner) costs 800 per person, the food was great and selection was wide but don't expect Vikings or Yakimix kind of variety.

Rooms cost 10k per night. 2double beds. Nice set-up. Only downside were the mosquitoes when we first settled in. The duvet was super comfy! :) no smoking inside the rooms btw :(

They have a full gym, gaming area (pool, foosball, pingpong table and a full tennis court).

Overall, the experience totally made our stay worthwhile. Perfect for affluent families on vacation ;)

This is the best beachfront resort in Bohol. It's amazing how big this property is. Even though there are a lot of guests, you would still get some privacy. Food is ok, it can still be improved but the service time is really quick, which is unexpected in these types of resorts. The staff still needs some training on communication skills and a bit more sharpening on their customer service skills, it seems most of them are newbies in the hospitality business. Rooms are clean, I hope they continue to be this way. I really hope they designate smoking areas though, to preserve the place. Overall, our stay here was very relaxing and we really made the most out of the beach. I would recommend it to families who love swimming and playing in the sand.
