There's more to Southern Dairy than gelatos!

I've been eyeing to try their food ever since but never had the chance since they open late in the afternoon and we don't usually go to the other side of BF (area after elizalde because traffic and too far! 128517). Thankfully, they opened a new branch, right in front of Sensei and beside Farmer's Orchard.

Since we weren't that happy with our supposedly dinner, instead of ordering dessert, we ordered one dish from their breakfast menu.

Btw, unlike their first branch, this one opens extra earlier and serves all day breakfast goodness!!! 128513128588🏼

Ony and I tried the Sausage + Egg + French toast set which is served with a glass of iced tea. Can't remember the price anymore but it's not more than 200 pesos. Very sulit since it can already be shared by 2 persons. 128521

Anyway, we liked this dish. The eggs were cooked perfectly! #Eggporn! The sausages were good (usual sausage) and as someone who likes french toasts, I liked their version. Bread was toasted but still soft in the middle, it was not too oily and not sweet, as well. 128077🏼

Service was good. Staffs were attentive and nice. 128513 Will definitely go back for the grilled cheese and baked salmon pasta next time. And other breakfast options. 128155

Near the Aguirre Avenue gate, right after the Tirona St. stoplight. This little gelato place was jam packed with people during the summer months. It was a relief to finally get a decent table on our second visit. The interiors had the unfinished - industrial look prevalant in most new restaurants these days. Service can be improved. When we walked in we were the only ones in there and no one seemed to notice. The staff was busy with 'other' things. It would be nice if they acknowledged our presence. But, no. Only after standing for two minutes in front of the counter and said 'Hi, Ate'.

Tried the 'Banana Split' with matcha green tea, cookie spread and vanilla. The presentation was nice, but they should have called it 'Banana slices'. The flavors are there but i find it weird that the matcha was icy. For a price tag of 250pesos more or less. The serving was small. No service water. Not in a hurry to visit again but will visit so i can try their mains.

Senior cards honored but not entirely accurate. 12% Vat was still charged.

Amazing arrays of natural and classic flavors makes this a MUST STOP for Gelato lovers when you're in the South area! My personal favorite is their homemade Cream Cheese Gelato, its smooth, creamy and rich! I tried their Aglio Olio with Baked Salmon and IT'S INCREDIBLE Generous serving esp the Salmon, perfect pasta and super worth the price for a super delicious meal! Best indulgence ever!

Right after eating at Bamba, we walked going here. We each had an order of their homemade ice cream creations. Tried the Dark Chocolate and Mango Graham flavors. Both were very good. You can really taste the chocolatey and mango goodness. Sarap! Super creamy, thick and oh so good! 128077🏼Can't really go wrong with ice cream!! 127846127846

Not Your Ordinary Gelato Place

If you are one of those who have high cravings with sweet stuffs, this place is definitely a go-to.

Place: 128151128151128151128151128151

5 out of 5 hearts for me! It's not your typical urban-like establishment for it has that homey feeling to it. You feel comfortable while eating your favorite gelato or whatever dessert that they can offer.

It can also be one of those places that's great for study sessions 128521

Food: 128151128151128151128151128151

Definitely spectacular! I tried for their ice cream sandwich for I was craving for something cold with some crunch in it. And boy it's the best ice cream sandwich that I ever had! Usually the cookie will be soggy due to the ice cream melting as you dig yourself in, or it will be rock solid due to the coldness of the ice cream. But treat this piece of heaven differently! The cookie still remains its crunch while still enjoying the creaminess of the gelato.

I chose to have their Mocha Chocochip instead of their Vanilla one (that's their original combination), and its sooo good! And the amount of the chocolate drizzle is so generous!

Price: 128151128151128151128151128151

Although it's the same with other dessert places nowadays, around 90 to 200-ish, but I tell you the price is so worth if for such good food!

Service: 128151128151128151128151128151

Such friendly people! And knowing that it's family owned and the menu is made by the owner's wife just adds the hominess to it. The pace of their service is superb!

This place is one of those that I'll never get tired of going back over and over again. A must-try and recommendable to friends and family!

My partner and I was craving for a good dessert so we decided to give it a try. We ordered grilled cheese sandwich with bacon which price is very reasonable. It was ok and I can say that value for money was achieved. I ordered banana split which I can choose three homemade gelatos. We had Chocolate mint, vanilla and the salted caramel. It was really good! right amount of sweet and you can feel the tenacity of their gelato. What is also amazing is that they will not limit you from choosing on the flavors. Well, i was used of choosing for like the standard flavors only. It was perfect to end the night. I was able to talk to the owner as well, whom I must say is very approachable and is really proud on what they have to offer. Southern Dairy is along aguirre avenue who is now a hangout area for all the foodies. The ambiance was really good to chill out although they have limited seats only. Will definitely recommend this to my friends. Oh they now sell pint size of gelatos! Service is good, attentive crews and enthusiastic as well. #henrysinstaxgiveaway

Was craving for milkshake so we went to Southern Dairy hoping to satisfy this hunger for ice cream. Because, you know, Southern Dairy has great desserts. Their milkshake though? Very disappointing. At first, I thought it was just crushed ice with milk, which is the cheap kind of milkshake, but after trying their cooking sandwich to-go, we realized, apparently, their plain vanilla ice creams doesn't taste good... And to think I chose this over Milky Moustache :(

Ordered cookie sandwich for takeout, and yeah, i do not recommend you to do the same. Although the travel time from Southern Dairy to my place is only 15 minutes, the gelato melted easily. ☹️ (Plus there is an additional php10 for the take out container...)
I used to order this numerous times already, but i was kinda disappointed because the cookies were salty (which were homemade, by the way). Cookie dough gelato is okay, it's not bad, but i remember i've tasted the same flavor before and it is not that sweet.
Abby M had vanilla milkshake, and i must say that it's not Southern Dairy's expertise. 🤐

Southern dairy is one of the newest dessert places along Aguirre. But, they not only serve dessert! They also have other stuff (snacks) like pasta, fries etc. aside from the gelato, they also have dessert creations like banana splits and the like.
Saw this place the other night and decided to go there after ruins. Interiors are industrial chic but still with a homey feel. A couple of tables outside and a few more inside. Staff was warm and accommodating. They churn their own gelato and you've a bunch of flavors to choose from. Really wanted to try the quezo de bola but they ran out! Tried the mango graham instead.
Our orders arrived and they were pretty good! However, it's not gelato imo. Very good ice cream, but not gelato. It did not have the consistency and creaminess that you would usually find.
Still, a cute place for dessert. I also want to try their Parmesan fries 128513

Thanks to Looloo reviews, I ordered their Baked Salmon Aglio Olio. Eet eezz guudddd! Big slice of salmon, and a good serving size of pasta, its a steal for P195 (with free iced tea pa!).Then we also got the Vanilla Cookie Dough gelato and Matcha White Chocolate gelato (P90). Their gelato's not too sweet, just the way I like it. And the matcha one, you can really taste the distinct flavor, so if you're into matcha, you'll like this one 128076128077. Will definitely be back, perhaps to try out their new offerings - Smores Parfait, Mango Graham gelato and Butter Cashew gelato. Sounds yummy eh?128521128076

I had the strawberry shortcake! I love the fact that it has real strawberries and was surprised that it has cake bites! 128541 It was okay, better than expected. Not too sweet, which I think is a good idea. 127856

I wish I had a taste of their chocolate flavored ones though. But I can't since I still had tonsillitis then (Yes, I defied doctor's orders of staying away from sweets.). And I was scared what too much lactose can do to my stomach hahaha as I say, when you go South, you forget and leave your lactose intolerant in the North. 127846128540

Gelato date w Ony while waiting for mommy. For a little less than 100 pesos, you get to enjoy a scoop of their yummy gelato. Have it in a cup or cone or both!!! I wanted it in a cone but because it might melt fast, we asked for it in a cup and just put the cone on top. 128513 Best to have it in a cup since the ice cream melts really fast.

We tried the Strawberry Shortcake (for Ony) and Chocolate (for me). We liked the yummy chocolatey flavor of my chocolate gelato more than the strawberry shortcake. But both were good!! You can really taste the flavor and does not taste artificial. 128518 Another good thing is that they are not too sweet!!! Yayyy!!!! Will definitely come back here for the Salmon Pasta and Grilled Cheese!! 128513

Just beside Dusadee is a new dessert place. BF homes is starting to have dessert places opening from buckys counter and outre, now comes a Gelato place name Southern Dairy.
The place got that rustic vibe that looks cool and inviting. I also love the simple and eye capturing design of their logo. I first thought this would be a steakhouse 128513. The inside also just small I think 2-3 tables and counter table. Cool place to tambay and chitchat. Only downside would be maybe they don't have a washroom.
We just went here for the gelato since we have just finish dining in Dusadee but per feedback the pasta serve here are good. For the gelato we try the Matcha White Chocolate and the Strawberry Cheesecake. The Matcha tasted similar to the matcha of scout honor. Their matcha also have that powdery texture to it that I like. For the strawberry cheesecake it was really good. It wasn't sweet and doesn't have the umay taste. I love the gelato here but I think they can still improve it. Their gelato melt very fast and you can feel some ice crystal in it.128517 Maybe improving in proper freezing or churning it longer in a slower speed not sure not an expert hehe.
Overall I love to try more of the other gelato flavor and pasta. 128518128076

Finally got the chance to try the "kitchen" in "Southern Dairy Gelato + Kitchen". 128513 The burger was just so-so for me but was overshadowed by their salmon aglio olio and carbonara. Now those 2 were good! The carbonara was interesting in that they tried to stick to how carbonara was originally made - no cream, all egg. The egg yolk kind of curdled and formed solid pieces around the noodles so the execution still needs a bit of tweaking. But i'm not complaining 128540

The salmon aglio olio was my favorite. 128077 Reminded me of a similar dish at Conti's and the salmon over pasta they used to serve at Z's in the Valero area of Makati. The salmon was baked really well and that cheesy crust on top was like icing on the cake. The juices from the baked salmon influenced the taste of the aglio olio beneath in a good way. Its as if everything fell into place and worked. If theres anything to come back for in their kitchen... this is it!

Props as well to the gelato cookie tower. Right as we were about to take pictures it started leaning like the Tower of Pisa. 128517 i found the cookies a bit tough though, but their matcha white chocolate and buttermilk cream cheese gelato offset any gripes i had about the cookies haha.

Doesn't seem close to a gelato at all... But it's good enough ice cream if you'd tell me it is actually just an ice cream.

Love the taste, flavor is a little short.

Best part is, it's close to home and they close really late! Good option when you're into a midnight sugar rush!

Hmmm... I know it aint IG worthy! haha! The place was pretty ok, it was a cozy place to chill. However i give 2 for their plate presentation, it doesn't really look appetizing. But the ice cream separately , was heavely! 128076🏻

The cookie cups!! So good. Tried the buttermilk cheesecake gelato. Also so good. Their gelatos are yummy actually. For your average dessert price too (Php ~100). Facade's simple. I thjnk it has that cow/barn theme. Opens every afternoon daily
