Speakeasy Gnocchi is really good. But I didnt think the Croque Madame and Gambas are worth the price.

So I went here at around 4pm on a weekday to unwind and have a few drinks. For a supposed "speakeasy" bar, they were blasting obnoxious hiphop! This was a major turn off. I came here for a laidback drinking ambience, which is probably the reason why they charge too much for the drinks is because of that supposed aura of sophistication. I'll take my drink someplace more quiet thanks

Speakeasy's Gnocchi with a kick of lemon is the best. Try it and you'll surely love it! Credits to talesfromthetummy (IG) for the photo.

I've been meaning to try Speakeasy Makati for quite some time now and last Wednesday, I'm so glad I did. 128513

Because of its name, when you think of Speakeasy, drinks really come to mind. What people should realize though is that they have amazing food! I tried the Speakeasy Gnocchi (must try!) and I was able to taste their Truffle Mac and Cheese. Both these dishes were really good! I'd definitely order these again. They also have a happy hour deal from 5PM - 8PM during weekdays. Local beers and their signature cocktail, the Speakeasy Standard have a 50% off promo. :)

Also, it was pretty awesome because when we went there on a Wednesday they had quiz night! There were 10 rounds and my friend and I won 4 rounds. The prize for wining a round is a shaker of the Speakeasy Standard. So we got 4 shakers for free! It was so fun and even the people from the other tables and the owner were friendly too. 128522

The music isn't too loud so it's still a good place to catch up and talk with friends. Budget is around 400-600/person for food and drinks. :)

Hi guys, I'm (sort of) back! I have so many backlogs from months past, and since I have a faulty memory I can't even remember where some of the dishes I photographed originated from. 128517 On the bright side, I now have even more of a reason to eat out and explore what the culinary world has to offer! 128522

Speakeasy Makati was first introduced to me by Michael Joseph V. Since the place is just a stone's throw away from us and we tend to always enjoy our nights here, this has become our new go-to place during our rare weekends out (with or without friends in tow).

The interiors of the place are beautiful; simple in construction but classy, offset with an air of mystery and glamour due to the intricacies of the ceiling and floor. The playlist is one of the best I've ever heard in a bar as well, full of jazz songs and obscure house remixes. For a place that chose to label itself as "the" speakeasy, I wouldn't expect anything less. 128522

The servers were always very knowledgeable and quick to come up with suggestions for both food and drinks during all our visits. Since I'm not big on booze, I always go for their flavored sodas to accompany my meals. I am a huge fan of their passionfruit soda because of its sweet and refreshing taste. I love the actual fruit, so this was a sure hit for me. 128522 The boyfriend loves the more subtle and less overpowering taste of the hibiscus-flavored one, which I also got to taste and would also highly recommend.

Tip: They make their ginger ales in-house, so if you're into that then you can't get any better (or fresher) than their version. 128522

For the food, Michael Joseph V recommends their Foies Gras Burger. He told me once that he believes this dish is worth every peso he spends on it, and I believe him every time because he keeps re-ordering it with the biggest, most satisfied smile on his face! He also says their rib-eye is worth trying out, because it's perfectly cooked to your specifications and has a generous serving size. I'm not much into meat, though, so I'd recommend their gnocchi as an appetizer and either the crab fat linguine or the pan-seared salmon if you're like me.

The gnocchi in itself is all kinds of perfection! I order this in twos every single time I'm here. The delicious mixture of the delicate shell-shaped pasta, high-quality melted cheese, and a hint of either lemon or lime does it for me every single time. The crab fat linguine and pan-seared salmon are both done right, with a clean balance of contrasting flavors that only leave you wanting more afterwards.

Since my stomach always has room for dessert, I tried their version of the popular napoleones. Apparently this is one of their bestsellers, and with good reason! Theirs looks like a cronut but tastes like an eclair with a flaky outer, generously drizzled with strawberry sauce. Not a big fan of dessert, but definitely a fan of this dish.

..One good guess as to where we'll be heading to this coming weekend..? 128522

Good burger. Cocktails were a little on the 'weak' side.

It was actually my first time to dine at Speakeasy Makati and it didn't disappoint me! I ordered their Speakeasy Burger which is around 520 pesos (yes I know it's a bit pricey). However, the burger was really good, it has a large all beef patty (around 180g I think), arugula, lettuce, onion, tomato and Gruyere cheese, then topped with a sunny side egg. It also comes with a free side, so I chose french fries. The fries' dip was so good!! I even asked for a refill. Lol! I'll definitely go back here to try their Salmon salad. Oh, I also got to make chikahan with one of its owners, celebrity Gwen Zamora! 128522

I love this place, alfresco, good crowd, nice wines, great music, but best of all, its just across my place at The Columns. Last night i tagged along my friends and we all agreed to make it our official hang-out place :)
