My girl friends and I planned a lunch date here. We decided to avail BDO's discount for Gold/Platinum Credit Card Holders.

As I enter the place, I was quite dissatisfied because it's very small, compared to the buffet room of other hotels I've been to. Prior to our visit, I was really excited because of its good rating in Zomato. Selection was very limited, but I can say that the dishes were satisfying, and of really good quality.

Still worth trying, maybe I was just disappointed because I have high expectations.

Spectrum is one of the most well known buffets in the country, so as a gastronome, I can't help but dream of trying it someday. But, it being a fine dining, hotel restaurant, you probably figured out why it took time for me to finally cross it off my list.

Thanks to BDO, Spectrum is now more pocket friendly for me. BDO is offering a dining experience at this restaurant for half the price for its mastercard holders (Elite, Platinum, Titanium, Gold), for Monday and Friday dinner and lunch and Sunday dinner, until the end of the year. This is for a minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 diners.

Prices are as follows:
🔹Monday & Friday lunch P1,075
🔹Monday & Sunday dinner P1,190
🔹Friday dinner P1,225

So we called Spectrum to reserve seats for 5 people for Friday lunch 12nn. They informed us of the 15 minute grace period, after which, your reservation will be cancelled. But no worries, if you're running a little late then just give them a heads up and they'll gladly adjust your reservation.

The place looks grand, judging from their unique lightings and radiant ambiance. Hotel staff greet you cheerfully as you enter their doors.

We looked around to see the food choices available and noticed that they have limited selections, but they have a little of most of the cuisines. We also got most excited about the desserts as I think that this is the biggest station there.

🔹JAPANESE – sushi, sashimi
🔹SEAFOOD – Mussels, squid rings, clams, scallops
🔹FILIPINO – Afritadang Baka, Pritong Dalagang Bukid, Ginisang Togue sa Hipon
🔹ITALIAN – Macaroni, Spaghetti, Creamy Penne, Bolognese, Pesto, Aglio Olio, Cream, Tomato
🔹CARVING – Striploin, Porchetta, Roasted Chicken
🔹SALAD BAR – Wild mushroom salad, Asian Wakami Salad, Potato Salad, Seafood Slaw
🔹ARABIC AND INDIAN
🔹DESSERTS – Gelato, Wicked Oreo, Rice pudding, Mago Sago, chilled taho, floating island, etc.
🔹COLD CUTS & CHEESES
🔹CHINESE – Lechon Macau, Prok Asado, Soy Chicken, Roasted Chicken
🔹DIMSUM – Siomai, chicken feet, spare ribs

I found the food okay. The steak was a let down. It tasted a bit bitter. The creamy penne we had tasted so cheesy, but the pasta itself was bland. I am in no position to comment much on the sashimi as I rarely have them, but I did have a taste of it and I liked it. I guess the highlight of my meal was the dessert. I loved the thin chocolate barks, especially the ones with the fruits and nuts as it was easy to snack on and it wasn't too sweet. I also loved their wicked oreos topped with a scoop of gelato.

You have nothing more to ask in terms of their service as it was excellent.

I'm hoping to come back and have a better dining experience, since this one failed to impress me. I wish I'd have the stomach of a giant by then.

Please see the photos for a glimpse of the food available.

Breakfast date in Spectrum last Saturday.

My rare kind of buffet, but a good one since its My favorite meal of the day10084️ The ambiance has good vibes; lots of cheerful servers, families mostly foreigners, and there's this good feeling coming from the brightness of wide windows.

Everything is great, its the usual breakfast menu, its just that everything is there at the same time 128514 Coffee was served as soon as we are seated.wow! i had a blast on my first plate: bacon, scrambled egg, hashbrown, and roasted tomatoes. On the side , I also had bread and butter. For bread lovers, there are many kinds to choose from.

I also enjoyed siomai and spare ribs. But would be happier if there are more variants of dimsum (hakaw, bean curd, & chicken feet). I enjoyed the cereals, so nice to look at. Milk are on the side, you can choose if full cream, non-fat or soya. Cheese is limited, yet I also get to taste some128522

Unlike other buffet that has a wide variety of selection that is so confusing. Spectrum has intensive choices, I can say. Unfortunately, with my limited appetite that morning, did get to have salad, congee, and whole lot more.

Verdict: its my 2nd time. I still love the ambiance, servers are extra attentive, and happy with the food. Nothing spectacular yet the food choices are good.

For a thanksgiving lunch, we had ours at Spectrum which is a 10-15 minutes walk from our work place. This is my second take at Spectrum but first for a weekday lunch.

One great thing about this buffet is its ambiance. Very classy, sophisticated, and great customer service. They have a variety of food offerings as well. One I love the most is the steak section. I always love mine in medium rare and I get what I want; in reddish, big and chewy cut. Their potato salad at the salad section is also recommended cause it's not your ordinary potato salad. It has a certain spice that removes the "umay" taste. Cold seafood section is another fave of mine and I'm glad they have mussels cause you can never go wrong with baked ones. Baked, cheesy and slightly toasted ones. It's so good!! They have shrimps on that area too but very limited. They have Arabic section for those pita wrappers, kebabs and Chinese section for those lechon macau, dumplings and alike. Their Filipino area is small but has the classic Kare-Kare and ginataang tulingan. Japanese area is also small but have enough california maki, snd a very spicy tuna maki. Sashimi is limited as well. Pasta are made to order with four different pastas to choose from and four different available sauces.

Dessert area is a great place to stay at. Though I miss the old honeycombs section, I still enjoyed the dessert area with various cakes, cake slices, thin chocolate slices and ice cream to choose from. They also serve complimentary coffee and tea along with the buffet rate. But all other beverages are on a separate tab.

A buffet is best judge by its food; quality and options. For quality, I'd say they're at the top class. Freshest ingredients for those dishes. For options, I'd say they're very limited. For the amount you're gonna pay for here, in terms of food option, you can get more at Vikings or Buffet 101. But am I recommending this? Still a yes! It's worth a try. I heard their Sunday brunch is great so you might want to check that out. And currently, BPI, BDO and Citibank offers 50% off on lunch and dinner depending on days at Spectrum so you might want to catch that promo. I guess it's only Php 1,100+ with the discount.

My 2nd time in this place and unlike the first, it did not disappoint.

Sure, the selection isn't as wide as say Spirals or Circles, but this is one buffet that emphasizes quality over quantity. So much so that they ran out of some items on the buffet.

Why it give a 4? I guess because I wasn't expecting much, given my last experience here. So I was pleasantly surprised.

For one, their seafood station wasn't bad. Quite impressive, actually. Lying on a bed of ice were various kinds of shellfish which were served fresh. There were mussels, clams, some squid like thing, and get this--- diwal! Always wanted to try diwal and boy was I so excited to have my first taste!

The Jap/Chinese station looked well stocked, although I didn't really bother going there since I was in a carnivorous rampage.

I made a beeline for the carving station where they had porchetta and striploin. Deyyyyym 128523 Had my meat cooked medium and it put a smile on my face.

The desserts were also good, although unfortunately, they don't do sugar free here.

Will I come back? Sure! Somehow the dinner buffet is more delicious than their lunch buffet though. Then again, like traffic, baka it's just a state of mind.

We availed of the citi promo of 50%off on Wed & Sat. Regular price for dinner was P2380, discounted price net is P1190. I thought the buffet was just worth P1190 and i would never pay full price for this buffet. There was limited selection - my friends and i were "yun na yun buffet area nila noh?".

My favorite was the sushi station. Everything was so fresh and they had a wide variety of rolls - different rolls with tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, cream cheese (yung mga effort gawin). I also liked the desserts station! They make their own gelato - i liked the vanilla. The coffee pannacota was also good. They also have chilled taho. I thought it would not be good bc it's already mixed with the syrup in the ref but it tasted good. The bread and the cheese (cheedar!) was also good.

✅sushi rolls, bread with cheese, buttered garlic shrimp, chilled taho, vanilla gelato, coffee panacotta, fruits, lechon macau, ambience & service (it was a good venue for a reunion/get together with classmates)
❌ pizza, steak, i heard from my friend that pasta was so-so.

I will only come back if there is a 50% off promo. It's what the buffet is worth.

Food was okay. Nothing spectacular. My favorite is the bread roll and the black forest ham cold cuts. I will probably not come back though. It didn't wow me. I didn't even bother taking photos.

Saturday lunch. And someone did not tell me that its a buffet, coz its a surprise daw. Yikes ! wearing a body hugging dress is not a good idea. Hmmm if you know what I meant. Anyway, another first & happy to fill in my hungry tummy. Lunch buffet opens at 12 noon.

Spectrum has wide & big windows, making it look brighter as we enter. Crystal decors hanging in the ceiling is eye catching. The place is smaller compared with other hotel buffets. I made a quick scanning as we enter, I notice quality selection of food.

Started with their Appetizer section. They have enough of what I am looking for (salad, bread & butter) Happy with my salad. Cold cuts & cheese are also in there. Choices of cheese are limited.

Sushi & Sashimi section is a favorite of mine. Aside from my ever favorite Salmon sashimi. I tried their best seller, Salmon Skin. I love the crunch at the middle.

Seafood station has limited choices:shrimp, mussle, and clams. But i'm happy with the plenty of shrimps! They never ran out of it. Best when you request to have it cooked with butter, garlic and lemon.

I'm delighted to see their dessert station. Ice cream, eclairs, cakes, mousse, pannacotta,! But since I 'm full, i had berry sorbet (love the sweetness). Also Got their salted caramel panacotta, white chocolate bits, trail mix covered with dark chocolate, and honey truffles.

What's best on this place?
128077🏼 less crowded compare with other hotel buffet
128077🏼quality food selections. I'm overwhelmed everytime there are many choices.. So this place is good for me
128077🏼attentive servers
128077🏼my first time with my constant date.. Naks 10084

Just like what they say "Masarap talaga pag libre." Hahaha Last week I went here with my officemates to celebrate our CEO's birthday. They have different dishes from pork, beef, seafoods and many more but I think there are limited choices compared to other buffets. My favorite is the dessert section. There are different chocolates, cakes, ice cream and even filipino delicacies.

I have been trying out the buffet of different hotels in Metro Manila and I've decided to dine at Spectrum, availing of their 50% discount with BDO mastercard. Ambiance is classy and relaxing. Service is equally good however food selection is limited. I enjoyed the japanese station but it would be better if they will also serve tempura. There's pasta station, chinese station, meat carvings, filipino station, salad, fruits and dessert. Overall, we had a good dining experience.

Consistency is probably the most important ingredient for any restaurant. This is of course after finding what finally works for most pallets. This gets harder with variety of choices, case in point, buffet.

It is almost my 10th sponsored Zomato meet up and quite frankly this excited me the most given my raving experience the first time.

From the last visit, Spectrum expanded almost double from its original quality filled set up. It was just one straight line of goodness as I fondly remembered. Yes much fewer but I took time to savor each dish.

Now to put it more blunt, they probably wanted to catch up with what Spirals or even secondary buffets (i.e Vikings, Buffet 101 and Yakimix) are doing. Volume of choices attracts. It does when you're ready.

Spectrum should have stayed with fewer picks and making it a point they are made perfect. Dishes that create long lasting impressions and not forgettable ones like I had today.

There are a number of points to improve on besides the obvious of making dishes more captivating. It's also staff competence and know how. It's also even the minuscule detail of labeling each and every food. Simply put, we need to know what's in it before we spoon it to our plates.

Shocking dish was the Chicken Tandoori which was served so dry and tasted like charcoal. The best I had was in the carving station, the Prime Rib. They didn't have mint and horse radish ready though which should be a standard when serving.

I do find the brunch ranch concept slightly interesting. And a a customer appreciate the staff even wearing the theme presented.

Good place to get fat! You'd definitely go back for the Meat and Sushi station!

The cold and fresh shrimp was good

Try the ice cream too!

Pricey? Yes! But it's worth the price. They sometimes have 50% discounts for credit card so ask first before you make your reservations. Was able to avail the discount thru BDO MasterCard.

I always look for the dessert station first in any buffet place. And of course, The Spectrum did not disappoint! They offer a wide variety of food with its international buffet selection. I especially love the sushi station (as always). More salmon please!

Food selection is not as extensive as other buffet restaurants, but you get quality dishes here. I love the fact that out of all the meat (beef, lamb, pork) I've tried, none of them was tough or rubbery. And they were all equally flavorful. Plus points also for making sure that the selection is always refilled or replaced with a full casserole/plate/bowl/whatever container they were.

The place is very classy but a bit cramped. They must've tried to put in as many chairs and tables as possible (happens every time, though).

Ps. This is the only photo I have. Haha~ Berry sorbet and green tea ice cream.

Had dinner buffet here for my birthday.

I like their custom pizza, ice cream and chocolate stations. The other dishes...not so much.

I skipped the Japanese section btw since raw food is a no-no for preggies. I tried the other sections and it was just okay.

I read in other blogs that there is a honey dessert bar, but didn't manage to find it that night 128553 Is it just offered during breakfast?

I had high expectations for Spectrum since this is the restaurant of 5 stars hotel - Raffles and Fairmont. Unfortunately, i find their buffet spread limited compared to the other hotel buffets we already tried.

The chef in the ice cream station was very masungit. I tried to take a photo of the ice cream station but she instantly called my attention when I started to open my phone . Thus - I have no photo of it. 128529 Oh well, maybe it's really bawal to take pictures of the buffet spread so I just let it go.
