On our last night in El Nido, we decided to try this place out. Again, highly rated and very near our hotel. Place is non descript as you can see in the photo, almost looks like a bar 128518 but staff is nice and accommodating (enough).
I got the shrimp in lemon butter sauce and onion rice (as opposed to garlic rice, how clever noh?). Hubby got the squid curry and garlic rice. I went across the street to get a banana avocado shake haha.
Food arrived quicker than I expected and it was really good, had to order extra rice! One downside though is there are a lot of mosquitoes, even though I was wearing joggers, they managed to bite me under the hem!
Aside from that, food is fresh and affordable too, i think it's php220/dish and php40 for the rice. Overheard the table behind us ask the waiter if they use powder in their chopsuey 128529 hay...
If you're in el nido, this place is a good choice 128077🏼

One of the popular El Nido eating places so we had to eat here but it didn't meet my expectations. :)

They said their specialty was the grilled stuffed squid, so I got it (170) and it was okay. But i have to give it to them, it was perfectly cooked. Nothing outstanding though. Then, i also got their shrimp cooked in lemon and butter sauce (200) and i liked it. :)

The bf got their goulash (250) and the pork steak in pepper sauce (280). The goulash was spicy and yummy but nothing like the traditional goulash we like. The pork steak though was yuck. Don't get it.

The servers could get a little more attentive and nicer. The ambiance can be improved as it looked and felt old.

But hey, we're in El Nido, anything tastes good here. :)

We just finished our island hopping tour and were famished. The receptionist at our hotel recommended this place and it was within walking distance. The place is small and unassuming. Luckily when we arrived, there weren't too many diners so we were seated immediately. We ordered their seafood curry and garlic rice. There is no AC so even though it was approaching the evening it was still a bit hot inside while waiting. AND wait we did because it took them quite a long time to bring out our food. We noticed other diners waiting impatiently as well. As we were waiting we noticed there was now a line of diners waiting for an open table. I felt bad for them since it seemed that most of us waiting for our food hadn't received our orders yet. When the food finally arrived I was a bit underwhelmed. The seafood curry was ok, but not great. There was an abundance of seafood but I wished there was more crab, and less mussels. I like mussels but there was just too much of them and less of other stuff. The garlic rice was average but for this dish we probably should have gotten the plain rice. Overall, this place was just ok and it may be the only decent place in the area since as we left the line of people waiting grew... or maybe they were just first-timers like us.

On our last night at El Nido, we decided to have dinner at Squidos. My boyfriend saw Seafood Sinigang in the menu so we ordered it plus 2 plain rice. We told the crew that we'll just go back to our room to get something and when we came back our orders are ready to be served. There are only two tables available that time, a long table for a big group and a small table good for 4 persons, we choose the latter. But it is kinda hot in there and the ventilation is not reaching that side of the resto. We asked the staff to move one of the fan a little closer to us but another customer requested ahead of me so i said it's OK.
We moved to the long table since its more comfortable there. While we are happily eating, a big group of customers came in. I was suspicious that we will be asked to go back to the small table but i push away that thought because i was too hungry. A minute later, one of the staff approached us and say, "Ma'am hiyang hiya po talaga kami, pero kung okay lang po ilipat po namin kayo dun sa isang table." I was stunned for a minute and i wasn't able to reply. Everyone is looking at us, waiting for our decision. My boyfriend obviously didn't want to move because i know how hungry he was that time. I don't want to be rude but i guess anybody wouldn't want to be asked to moved to another table in the middle of a meal. I just told the staff that some of them can occupy the other side of the table if they really wanted to sit together. I think they noticed i was a little annoyed so they didn't insist. We just continued to eat in a normal pace because we went there to enjoy our food in the first place. 9996

So, after my nobela, i will now say something about the food. 1285141285179996️the seafood sinigang consists of fish, mussels, shrimps, squids and clams plus lots of veggies pero ang konti ng sabaw! 128516 i think minadali syang lutuin kasi matigas pa ung ibang seafood 128517 broth tastes "ok lang" we asked for patis, calamansi and sili - broth tastes better! Haha.

Although we experienced something chenes at Squidos, it is still one of the nice restaurants to try when you feel your stomach grumbling after a whole day of island hopping 128516

El Nido food ranges from 300-500 Php per dish/order--without drinks. That's why it turned out to be such a happy surprise that we spent only around Php 250 per head in our lunch at Squido's.

For some reason, the whole coastal town did not have squids to offer in their restos EXCEPT for Squido's. Hence, we ordered Calamares and stuffed squid. The squid was yummy and wasn't rubbery, as most squids are when cooked wrong. 128076

Value for money, check! Yummy seafood in El Nido, check!

Didn't take picture of the food or the place since I'm a bit disappointed so Ill just share a picture from one of the beautiful islands of El nido.

After reading some reviews on where to eat at El Nido. It looks like everyone is talking about Squidos so I recommend this place to my friends.

They own 2 branches one at this looloo address and one at the hilltop. When we arrived at this address we are told that their buffet was served at the hilltop so we took another ride for just less than 10 mins.

The next challenged was going up to the restaurant. You should expect number of steps since its "hilltop" just enjoy the good weather and think of it as an exercise before having a buffet.

Eventually, we made it on top. The light was disturbing. Imagined having dinner under disco lights. It was too dark with different colors of lights. From this part you have a choice to dine here or go down dying. Hahaha.

There are just a few people that time. Considering that its an affordable buffet in El nido for only 250php. More or less 10 dishes are available. Starting from vegetables, pork, chicken, seafood and pizza. Nothing tasted remarkable. Except, on their home made pizza. I just had 1 plate and didn't go back. Thats how disappointed I was.

When we went down looking for a ride was the next challenged. Good thing that the tricycle driver waited for us which was also eating during that time.

We told "kuya" sosyal nag buffet and he replied that its for free. He said that Everytime that they bring customers at the Hilltop they will get a free food. Good job on that to the owner! 128077

Had lunch here. The restaurant is bahay kubo style with varnished hardwood tables and chairs. The attendant was jovial and conversant, even suggesting dishes for us to try. We ordered tapsilog and seafood pasta. Of the two dishes, their tapsilog stood out because of the tender beef strips and their special sauce. The egg was cooked nicely. Reasonable for its price (140PHP). The seafood pasta has generous serving of squid and small prawns on spicy sweet marinara sauce. It's okay. Might even be good enough for two persons for its 450PHP price. I will definitely come back here for the tapsilog.

We had our last dinner in El Nido here. We were told it's one of the more popular restos on the island coz of it's over-looking deck, good food & great band.

It probably took us 10 mins. to get there from the market via tricycle. From the entrance you have to trek a "few" flight of steep stairs to get to the main restaurant. Another friend & I were fast enough to get there & we told the rest of the group that it's closed. Their reaction was epic, they stopped and looked at us in disgust with mouths wide open. Hahahaha! Of course it was a joke.

After the unexpected workout, all we're thinking was the food better be worth it. I got myself a calamares. The rest ordered buttered shrimps, adobong pusit and other stuff I can't remember. Food was delicious and cooked from the moment you order it. So be prepared to wait for several minutes. Serving is good for one, but since we were in a group we got to taste what everyone else ordered.

We were not supposed to order drinks but they don't have house/service water. Negosyo talaga! It's just the way how we do it here, they said. We restrained ourselves from complaining. The last thing we want to happen is for a "secret ingredient" be added on our food.

While waiting, we asked where their over-looking deck is. They pointed at this pitch black veranda just a few steps away from us. Wow, ang ganda! The market folks nonchalanty forgot to tell us that there's nothing to see at night. Nakaka-baliw! Apparently, you'll see the entire El Nido from there in the morning. Ah okay, nag-imagine na lang kami128517

The band started playing as we were ending our meal. We didn't watch but we can hear them. They were playing old/classic songs from bee gees & air supply. Old school di ba!? The server said most foreigners dig those kinds of music. The singer was good, as in plakado! But we left after only two songs coz we're leaving at 4am the following day.

Going back, it was a challenge to find a tricycle. We walked a few blocks down before we found one. We're a big group (9 people) so walking in the dark became bearable.

The place was dimly lit, hence the absence of photo in my review.

One of the best conversations I had with a complete stranger on a leisure trip - Pinay loving french owner. I love the artsy arrive of the restaurant, too. Cozy and warm.

Squido's is, no doubt, one of the best restaurants in El Nido. This restaurant keeps up with its reputation of serving hearty meals at reasonable prices.

My friends and I loved it here. The food is simply awesome. 128525 However, our second dining experience made this review less one star. 128532

The first time my friends and I visited this place was right before their dinner service, so we had the place for ourselves. The food was served after 15 minutes, which was usual for freshly-cooked food. :) But on our next visit, dinner the next day, we had our orders on our table after more than hour! 128561 Since we were too busy chatting, we didn't notice how time flew fast. We just realized it when our glasses were almost empty. We were too lazy to argue with the manager and move to another resto, so we just waited for our orders after frequent reminders to our waitress.

But when we got to gobble on our orders (coz we were that hungry, LOL), we forgot how long we waited for our food. It was so great, just as awesome from our first visit. 128525

Must-try's are their stuffed squid and buttered shrimp. Yum! Make sure to beat the dinner crowd and be there before it gets full. 128521
