Yayyy!! We're finally heading home. I appreciate the nurses that took care of my sister and my niece. They really did well. And the doctors were great and really professional. 128516 We get what we paid for. 128077128077128077 The meals were also given on time. Sister at first was on soft diet and the food were okay. There's also microwave and water dispenser nearby so it's kinda tipid when it comes to food. 128514128514 Facilities were top notch! 128077128077

Back here again a day after the Icebergs time with family.

I was on the way to work when I suddenly collased on the sidewalk. Good thing it was a nice person who helped me and picked me up.

My dad fetched me to my "collapse spot" and brought me hope. Ate two small meals and we're off to ER of St. Luke's.

For some reasons, I didn't like my experience this time. So I'm only giving 3 stars.

First, the nurse's pricks-- blood extraction and IV insertion were just too painful this time. I was making sounds (about to cry, irritating sounds) while on the ER bed because it was just too painful even if there was no medicine going thru my veins anymore. I guess something was wrong with how they inserted it. My IV insertions before doesnt hurt that much.

For blood extraction, the process was too slow... And yes, it hurted so much also.

The doctor who attended to me a lot smelt like cigarette.. And I didn't like it.

When I was about to get discharged, the nurse who removed my IV was heavy-handed and not too careful while removing it. 128557128557128557 He pulled the needle too fast and I bled quite a lot this time.

Anyway, maybe the timing was just not right. I find the graveyard ER staff more gentle and careful.

Bzzz. I was rushed to St. Luke's last night due to high blood pressure for more than 12 hours and extreme headache. I could already feel it since morning but I chose to ignore and just rest, but my condition didn't improve.

It was around 10PM when I noticed that I was to that point of extreme pain that I cannot swallow things already and that I wanted to vomit everything. The medicine I took at around 5pm didn't work, and my goodness, even at that hour, my blood pressure was still high at 140/90. After an hour of striving to drink lots of water to lower my bp, my family decided to bring me to the hospital. 128657128657128657

I told the nurse I had the same experience last October 2015. As usual, all my blood tests are clear and that my cholesterol level is normal. Dr. Ken said, I'm not in extreme pain because of high blood pressure, but rather, I have a high blood pressure due to extreme pain. 128165 He tapped me on the left and right sides of my body to check if there is numbness or unequal feeling, I told him it's all fine but I really can't tolerate the headache that I could feel it behind my eyes up to my back.

He saw how the pain was consuming my energy already so he decided to inject a painkiller to me instead. I thought he was just joking because I was only expecting an oral medication... But he isn't, he injected a medicine to me and let me took a pill too-- one is to numb me and kill the pain and the other is to maintain it. The medicine injected feels mahapdi inside that I was kicking and almost close to crying when it was injected. I could feel it. 128557128557128567

He discussed to me as well that this extreme headache is actually from tension and stress, he asked what I do at work and how was all my workloads... He told me to take things easy and try to rest while and not focus too much on work.

He is very attentive tho there is an "ilang" factor cos he's a male. Hahaha. I really feel awkward when the specialist is a male especially when they have to check on me. 128514128584 I was adviced to skip work for a while and rest instead. I got discharged at around 3 in the morning.

St. Luke's has been our second home for the past 7 months. SEVEN, LONG, MONTHS. 128064 Whenever we're here, our phones automatically connect to their wifi already. HAHAHAHA 128514128584 Our hopes, faith, and emotions have been in a roller coaster during those months, and here we are, glad and grateful to have my baby sister at home last Friday. 9786

Kudos to all the NICU nurses and doctors who went all out not just for my baby sister who is a preemie, but to all babies and patients who were there. They took care of my sister so well, and yes all of them are very attentive. It's funny to think as well that some became friends with my mom, in real life and on Facebook. 128514128584

Thanks to NICU staff and St. Luke's! 128522

Another review again!

It breaks my heart to see random fathers going out of NICU crying... 128532

Anyways, the nurses told us that every "monthly birthday" of premature babies they're taking care of, they give them one balloon. 9786️ And yes, every year, they have this ball/party for their premature baby patients. How cute is that. 128513128118🏼

I'm leaving you all with this:
"This, too, shall pass." 127880

Been here for about a week because my mom was confined. The doctors and nurses are very accommodating. It was so nice to see doctors visiting my mother and some would even pray for her. It was a very chaotic and stressful week, but their encouragement whenever they visit enlightened the heavy feeling. 128522

From HRPU to OR to normal room, everything was clean and comfortable.

Kudos also to doctors who responded well on a "call of judgment" when my mother was inside the operating room. That one tragic moment, we were caught in traffic and there's no one to sign the waivers for the necessary procedures... But then, they used their initiative and called us instead and let one to witness through phone that we agreed. 9786️ They wanted everything to be fast so my mother would be saved... And now, my mom is at home, alive and well. 10084

It was a roller coaster week. Now, let's start over. 128522

The customer service here is excellent. From the receptionist, cashier to the technicians of the MRI. It's like they've all just started their shifts, or could be just good training.

Staff are briefed properly to give instructions. You have to feel real sick or deaf to not get their thorough instructions. And it's not delivered robotically, mind you.

Inside the tube, you're given a set of headphones to help tune out the sounds. It would be nice to have a selection of music to choose from next time. The sounds coming out of the head phones were classic songs from the 60's. I felt as though my mom were supposed to be taking this procedure. You can also choose to focus on the rhythmic vibrations (think meat grinding sounds, your neighbor banging a screw driver against a big tansan and a continuous hum of a washing machine that sort) and imagine yourself at a raw EDM festival with you as the DJ. Wait for the beat to drop.

There should be no unnecessary movement during the procedure since the machine is sensitive. It will take about 20 minutes to finish but will have to go through another round if you move a lot.

Results come a day after. That's pretty fast. It's not easy running a hospital.

Twas my second time to bring a family member via the emergency room and when I got in with my patient, Isobel, the receiving area was jam packed. As usual, I started getting annoyed. They asked me to leave my health card and wait. I am not a fan of the word wait and my patience generally leaves my system whenever it happens. I kept whispering to my kid so she'd cry and get noticed. After a while we were called so I felt a little relieved. The nurses were very nice and accommodating. After we signed the forms, Isobel got her hospital bracelet and we were told to wait for further instructions. In less than about 5 mins, we were assisted by a nurse and brought inside. Doctors started checking on her to see what was wrong. I was impressed because things happened way faster this time. At times I had to leave to check on my niece who was waiting outside and when I'd come back, I'd see some nurses going about and talking to Isobel.

The first time I was there with my mom everything was horrible. This time around things were definitely working better for me.

Not used to being the patient and I do not want to be biased... But we had a previous experience (just this year) at a different hospital... I was sooooo angry at the service and the staff... I couldn't believe that is how they treat their patients... So, I asked my parents to transfer their care to SLMC-QC, which they should have done (IMO) years ago... But I understand their loyalty to their doctors... However, after the horrible experience, they became very much willing to transfer here... I looked for trusted doctors, who were adept at giving advice and heartfelt care to their patients... Helps a lot that I came from the institution... I must say that the experience was waaaaaay different from what we previously encountered... The procedure and results were faster and service was very efficient...

Great job! And that's from a patients' perspective already...10084128076128079128077

P.S. So sorry about the light at the end of the tunnel feel!128513

I was confined at St. Lukes from Friday-Tuesday morning. I had an operation Saturday morning. Im happy i choose St. Lukes. Everyone is sooo nice! Doctors, nurses, guards, receptionists, everyone! My nurses are the best! They are very prompt in attending to my needs, very friendly, courteous and gentle. My night shift nurse, Gregg, who inserted my dextrose kept on saying sorry coz i was crying the whole time, that's because im afraid of needles. 128517He even comforted me the night after my operation coz i can't sleep well.
Everything is provided to us, processing of papers and room designation is super fast. My healthcard's room limit is for a small private room only, but there's no available room that time so i was given a regular private room for the same price. 128077 cleaning of my room is on a regular basis, my meals are delivered early, bedsheets, blankets and hospital gown are changed everyday. I was taken care of very well during my confinement, they have the best service! 128077128077128077

Brought my sister to the ER two days ago.
The security personnel was nice.
Nurses were friendly and always smiling.
Doctors were also nice.
The er was packed.
i think they need to add more space to provide more room for the patients.
They do have a waiting area outside the er for the extra "bantays" with ac and tv i think.
our er stay this week was definitely pleasant.

Visited my bestfriend since she had her surgery. Good thing she's recovering very well! Praise God! It's been a really long time since I last visited St. Lukes. Surprised that despite of that, they maintained the old building very well. Hope they could renovate in the near future! Love my bff's room. Very spacious!

One of the BEST or probably the BEST hospital in Asia. Very neat, clean and on point. When I say on point I mean every patient is a priority.

Priority with proper care as well. I know this because I had my clinical duty here. I am a student of St. Luke's college of nursing so our clinical duty is going to different hospitals and this semester we went to SLMC.

All I can say is, if you have the money to spend and I mean A LOT to spend, go here and your health will be nurtured and cared at the highest level. If not, then don't.
