PROMO ALERT ‼️

I was so early for my work today so I decided to go Starbucks for my daily caffeine fix. I wanted to order their new drink, Tahitian Vanilla Macchiato, as I've tasted this last week courtesy of my friend.

While ordering, the barista told me that today is Macchiato Monday and their Tahitian Vanilla Macchiato is on promo - double upsize. So I only paid for the tall size instead of paying for Venti. This drink is actually good. I'm not surprised that the taste will be okay as I used to like Tahitian Vanilla ice cream from Carmen's Best (though I think they use Madagascar Vanilla now). Be sure to tell the barista to lessen the sweetness of this drink. It can get sooooo sweet, I kid you not.

P.S. The below are the promos for this week. You're welcome. 128075

** Macchiato Monday
Complimentary double upsize of Tahitian Vanilla Macchiato

** Teavana Tuesday
Complimentary double upsize of Matcha and Espresso Fusion

** Wind up Wednesday
Complimentary double upsize of Starbucks Cold Brew

** Tribute Thursday
Complimentary double upsize of Starbucks Tribute Blend brewed coffee

** Frappuccino Friday
Complimentary double upsize of Valencia Orange Cocoa Frappuccino

It was a long but productive day and I can only thank my homies from foodsocietyph Jairus d and Ruth D for being more than just foodie friends.

Back from our Tagaytay work + fun trip, I waited some more for the hubby to finish one last meeting before he officially declares weekend! I got too bored so I decided to get a drink from SB and I ended up using my SB card stars to try their Salted Caramel Mocha Crumble.

Grande, over ice - mocha drink topped with whipped cream, drizzled with caramel sauce, topped with crumbles and salt. I would like to say that it was good but I can't lie and I don't wanna fake it. It was just okay. There was nothing salted caramel about it. Caramel with a sprinkling of salt will not cut it. Or if the drizzle was supposed to be salted caramel, well, it was not.

2 Stars for the drink + 1 for customer service in this branch!

My latest obsession is matcha. Since I came back from Japan, I have been craving for it like crazy. And do you know what's funny? I used to hate matcha with fervor especially the hot green tea, it's so bitter I think it's one of the biggest offenses against mankind.

Then I went to Japan and things change. Maybe the Japanese does it better, I don't know. But now I look for matcha ice cream, matcha cake, matcha cookies, matcha chocolate, and now my latest obsession, matcha latte. Nope not preggo.

Starbucks has two versions of it, matcha latte and matcha espresso. It is under their teavana flag ship. I went to Bonifacio Stopover where Starbucks is opened 24/7 during a break in the office. I'm a night shifter, I went there at around 3:00 in the morning with some officemates.

I wasn't prepared to see the queue when I got there, it was too freaking long. I'm not sure if this is the usual scene on this Starbucks branch or people are just trying to complete the Starbucks stickers for the planner. The baristas weren't as quick as those who are working at Starbucks SM San Lazaro (seriously, the baristas there are freakishly fast!) so it made waiting time longer.

So I ordered iced matcha espresso. It looks pretty because you can see the gradient of green and brown, of matcha and the coffee when it's served. Of course you got to mix them in so you can get that matcha espresso flavor. It tasted more coffee than matcha, which in principle should be good, but to me it tasted a bit off. I realized I want the matcha latte better.

Starbucks manager was rude. I was just asking what's the update on an item I may have left at this branch, and he answered with a bitchy tone, "Teka lang ha! Mag-isa lang kasi ako dito!" Hello? There were 3 other staff members.

Bitch at the cashier did not offer to cancel my cash transaction to charge my coffee to my Starbucks card. Also the Chicken Pastel Empanada took too long.

Starbucks recently launched its Teavana line. I experienced Teavana in Ontario, Canada, during my vacay late last year, but it's a stand-alone tea store. So, good job, Starbucks people!

Entering this branch last weekend, it's got Teavana all over it. From the main menu, posters, tent cards at the pick up point, an entire shelf of tea accessories, it screams Teavana! We ordered the Iced Matcha Espresso. You'll see it arrive in three layers, the espresso, milk and Matcha. Shake and mix it, it'll give you a subtly sweet matcha Espresso latte. I liked it. The matcha was good, strong. I'd probably prefer it a bit sweeter, but least it's not sweet outright and you can just add syrup or Splenda. Espresso's also strong but it's the Matcha that comes out after you give this a good fair shake. People might find its Matcha notes and coffee flavor strong, but I didn't.

Starbucks also launched a Pomegranate drink which is black tea based. Haven't tried that yet. But the matcha is good stuff. Bitter and only subtly strong enough, but that's what green tea really tastes like.

Starbucks also sells Teavana for retail, in 4 flavors. Buy 2 get one pack free from Sep 16 to 20. This is a nice branch, one of their newest branches, good design, layout, and has a nice lighting accent. Good service, too.

Their new Teavana drinks were good to try. I had the Iced Hibiscus Tea with Pomegranate pearls while Cindy S tried their Matcha and Espresso Fusion drink.

The iced Hibiscus tea was not too sweet. The pomegranate pearls were interesting though. They're like bubbles exploding with flavors. However, I still like their iced English Breakfast tea better. The Matcha and Espresso drink was good. I liked the matcha flavor in this. If you can't decide if you'll have coffee or tea, then go with this one. Combination of both! 128541

P.S. To complete their Teavana drink line up, Starbucks also offers Iced Shaken Black Tea with Ruby Grapefruit and Honey.

The new Starbucks cards came out yesterday, Aug. 08!!! I love the Manila card! Showcasing our very own Jeepney in very girly hues of pink, purple and blue, I love the touches of black and the overall design!

I'm also crushing on the SB Cebu Card!! But but but! Huhuhu 128557 Any kind soul from Cebu?!? lol

Got the chance to drop by Starbucks today to pass time and to let the volume of vehicles subside. Afternoon class suspension on a rainy day = hellish traffic!

I got the Manila Card and decided to get the Siren Card as well. The Siren Card was sleek and simple - black canvass with gray Siren. Both can be availed with minimum 300 load.

I decided to try their Strawberry Fruit Jelly Yogurt. This was good. Yougurt based drink, strawberry syrup, strawberry preserves and strawberry jellies - not really wow but it was okay. Kinda wish though that there was less of the jellies and stronger yogurt flavor.

Hubby got a grande Ristretto Bianco. This reminded me of flat white. It was a little more milky though than I wanted it to be but I liked the smooth and silky texture.

After having the salted caramel coffee, I went to Starbucks to meet my friend. Like what I’ve said, I wanted to have something strong that night, but my friend refused, so I just ordered their Basic Black Tea with 2 pumps of strawberry syrup. I stayed there for almost an hour since my friend had to finish his meeting first. While waiting, the two men in front of me caught my attention. They ordered the same drink like mine. That was awesome!

This Belgian Chocolate Chip Cake of Starbucks is the BOMB! I swear it's so sweet and it's so good! 3 layers of moist Vanilla Sponge cake with chocolate chip pieces layered with milk chocolate ganache that's the best ganache there is! I mean, it's like eating a melted bar of milk chocolate! My kind of ganache! To finish it off, it was frosted with Belgian Milk Chocolate. As if that's not enough, they even covered the sides of the cake with mini chocolate chip cookies! Argh! So much in one cake!

I tell you, one slice can get cloying if you don't like sweet cakes too much but for me, it's a milk chocolate and chocolate chip cookie lover dream come true!

Went here last night to buy coffee and tuna pandesal. 1278389749

The place is just small but really pretty. It's cold and the "feel" is very relaxing and quiet. This is perfect for late night study sessions or for your alone time. Was supposed to take a picture of the place but kuya guard was like "bawal po!". 128563128563128563 Oh well!! If you want some quiet time, this is a good place since it's not that "public" yet. 128518128521

Looks like any other Starbucks but this place is more serene ( oh well, maybe only a few still know that there is a Starbucks at Bonifacio stopover) I hope it remains peaceful and only a few " studious" students around
