Just had the Rwanda Abakundakawa today. It's got low body and high acidity. One of the earlier Starbucks Reserve, this introduced their entry into the 3rd wave coffee phase. So they have 4 reserve coffees from which to choose, besides the usual Starbucks coffees, teas and drinks. Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Papua New Guinea. Ask the barista and they'll take you through the flavors and taste profile of each reserve. They now serve each coffee in a different cup (see the pic), plus on a tray. I hadn't been here in a few months so it's a nice new touch.

Nice place, albeit inside a mall. Good place to hang. Especially when the wife is shopping and I just want to kick back and read my Phil Star. Haha.

Ordered the new Teavana from Starbucks, ( I forgot the full name) ,

127818 Ice Tea with Grapefruit honey (not full name)
127865 Ice Tea with Pomegrenate Pearl (not full name)
127856 with slice of heaven cake

The new drinks are very refreshing and the pearls really not so sweet and not so sour, perfect (unlike other pearls out there) the pearl is burst in your mouth :)

And pair it with Heavenly Cake, perfect :)

Go try it guys!

I felt so parched from walking in BGC, and luckily, I passed by Starbucks High Street. I thought of giving into the fad on Teavana - Starbucks own fusion drinks. I ordered Iced Matcha and Espresso Fusion coz I was so drawn to its gradient effect. Lol. I was so excited to take a sip and maybe I was expecting too much coz I wasn't blown away by it. It's just a so-so drink. I guess two strong flavors can create one bland drink sometimes. But maybe I'll give them a second chance.

I had some time to kill and i needed a break from all the walking (blame it on Pokemon Go). I decided to try one of the features drinks. I wanted a lil red hence i got the Strawberry Yogurt Variant. It is way too sweet!!!!! I taste an iota of yogurt. It is refreshing nonetheless, i hope they tone down the sweetness.

[Disclaimer: Post is for Starbucks Reserve and it is located on the 3rd floor if I am not mistaken.]

Starbucks Reserve. Reading the additional word made it sound so premium and upscale. Well, it doesn't really mean that Starbucks will charge more here. It is just that they have other coffee selections in these branches.

As a non-Starbucks fan, I was forced to have a quick lunch here as I had to report back to the cinema area in 10 minutes. (We had an event then.) I could have had lunch at Family Mart or got some Jamaican patties but I wanted something heavier (and not something with a scent that sticks to your clothes). So off I go to Starbucks Reserve.

The place was quite packed when I got there so it got me curious if they offer anything mouthwatering.

Well, I guess foodies who are into coffee would appreciate this place better since there are some fancy beans available here. My taste buds are, sadly, not so sophisticated. I wouldn't really know what coffee is from this place or that or how to properly describe each bean's scent. Earthy? Flowery? Roasted? I could only describe it as sweet, bitter, creamy, with a tinge of caramel, watery or yucky.

Since I wasn't in the mood to explore, I went with my favorite Caramel Latte and Pesto sandwich.

I asked the friendly barista to heat my sandwich and I got to enjoy my hot meal with lovely gooey cheese! 10084

Quite pricey but definitely good and filling. 128518

Went here to try their calamansi cake. And it was more of an cheesecake than calamansi, i guess it just has some hint of calamansi but i kind of like this cheesecake than the one with blueberry.

I ordered gree tea frap with 2 pumps of sweetener *the normal would be 4. I believe the barista mistaken it to be 2 pumps more. 128544 Only realize this when i took my irst sip at office after taking this pic. 128545

Christmas Panettone Cream Frappuccino was delicious!

We came in here as we had 2 hours to spare before our movie. We tried enjoying the breeze in the park however a group of smokers sat on our left and a solo smoker on our right. Hay. We went back inside to enjoy clean air conditioner air, if there is such a thing.

We ordered the Panettone for our son because I refuse to give him anything caffeinated. This one is just all creamy white goodness. He loved it. That's him acting all macho and grown up with his mala James Dean long sleeved jean polo and chugging his milkshake. Feel free to pronounce this the Italian way, which is without the long O.

My MOO (My One & Only128046) had his iced black americano with a peppermint brownie, which he said was so bagay he ate most of the brownie for himself. Thank you to the barista that offered sugar free vanilla to my green-tea-soy-milk-latte-with-5 scoops-of-matcha. I told him I've been asking for a sugar free substitute in other branches and got tired of asking. He's the only one that said it's possible. Hallelujah!

Funny how the red cups are such a big issue in the US. Some group is trying to create a big fuss, including The Donald, that Starbucks is trying to be too culturally sensitive by making the cup plain and that they should put "Christmas" back in the cups. We live in such a crazy world. You can't please everyone.

Back here in the Philippines though, let me share with you a few ways to be kind, based on my experience here. Little things you might think are unimportant but are so common in developed countries and can certainly create a big impact here:

1. People that exit a room have the right of way. If people are coming out of an establishment, let them come out first.
2. Hold the door for others, even for strangers. Don't just exit and let the door close onto people behind you. If you are exiting and people are coming in, be polite and hold the door for them. Hold the door especially when you see people have a tray full of food and drinks. And do say thank you to the person that holds the door for you.
3. Clean up after you go. Seriously, the trash bin is less than 10 steps away.

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. - Dalai Lama

Enjoy the red cups!

Venti coffee... I like the ambiance here one of the best interior of Starbucks I've ever seen. Big and spacious... Super cold place that match the hot temperature of the coffee!

I would like to Reserve the right to not go back to this place. I don't taste the difference between crap and reserve crap. Why do I get suckered to go here every time! Oh wait because Odell R buys my coffee and it cost me FREE Ninety-Nine! 128540When will a real McCafe hit the BGC!?

Exceptionally nice staff. Mark was my barista and gave me a brief history on coffee, the pour over brew system, let me smell a few of the reserve beans, and explained the notes I should expect to taste upon enjoying the coffee. That in itself was whole-heatedly enjoyable, more-so than the coffee itself, which was a bit over-roasted for my taste but had a nice punch to it that is allowing me to write this review at 4 in the morning.

Finally went to a place that had a Starbucks Reserve Cafe, so of course I had to check it out.

Other than their offerings of unique roasts (and by that, I mean roasts that are not commonly found in a Starbucks Cafe), the place is exactly the same as of your run-of-the-mill Starbucks branch.

I perfectly enjoyed my Panama Carmen Estate brew, though for roughly the same price, I would prefer to have my specialty-roast coffee from places like Craft Coffee Revolution, since the ambiance and staff are more homey.

The novelty of Starbucks Reserve is lost on me... I still prefer coffee with bells & whistles on it (in the form of syrup, milk, foam and cream)... I got the Toffee Nut Latte to go, which was a made a little too sweet for my liking...128513 But it's all good...128077 The place is a bit more relaxed than the usual bustling Starbucks branch... Plus, the baristas were very nice, a bit more chatty and chill...128522

It was my first visit in Starbucks Reserve and the place looked nice. They also offer unique drinks but I just ordered my usual White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino for P160 and Sticky Cinnamon Bun for P70. For me, the cinnamon bun is big and is good for sharing. That was why I was not able to eat the whole thing.

I will definitely go back here and try the drinks offered in Reserve.

This is probably the first time I splurged on a Starbucks drink because I was craving for it 128563128563 So I went ahead and ordered the Toffee Nut frappe 10084️ It was still the good old toffee nut drink we love 128525 But it was a bit pricey though. For a grande drink, I spent P180 128555 Ouch.

Planning on to try the Christmas Cookie drink next time! Seems interesting 128541

Absolutely LOVED this visit.

If you're at a Starbucks Reserve, get their Reserve coffee! And if you're at this branch, why not sit at the bar and chitchat with the barista?

I did that and got myself a free drink!!! Is that awesome or what?? Alex the super kind and friendly barista, asked me what my favorite drink was and when I told him I usually get their Vanilla Soy Latte, he told me to try this one:

Iced white mocha, no water, americano, with soy milk. He made it for me - for free! 128525128525128525

That junk is strong but oh so good! I got it again the following day at a regular Starbucks and still liked it!

I also got their iced Peru Chonti and I think that kept me up until 230 in the morning haha. What's amazing though is that you can't taste the bitterness! At least not for this one. They said there should be a hint of hazelnut in there. I'd like to say the same but who am I kidding I didn't taste it. 128514 Not a coffee connoisseur clearly.

But yes - 5 stars!!!!!127775127775127775127775127775

First time to try Starbucks Reserve coffee. It was an educational experience. Except that I can't remember much of what the Barista said.

So they only have 4 of these Starbucks Reserve branches and serve only 4 drinks (on top of the regular drinks that they serve of course).

Sadly, only 1 flavor was available during my visit. The Brazilian (something) Rio Grande.

Okay I'm not going to comment much on the taste because I'm not really a coffee expert. All I can say is it was strong!

The best part about the experience was the barista demonstrating how it is prepared differently. They use the "pour over" method which is simply putting the ground beans on some sort of ceramic funnel then pouring hot water over it. Sounds simple, but she explained so much that it was information overload. Kudos to her for knowing it all though. 128077

I also had the double chocolate muffin to go with the coffee which was PERFECT! I love the chocolate chunks scattered around the muffin.

I probably wont try the special coffee that Starbucks Reserve has again. Just not into the brewed coffee thing. But still, it was a good experience. 128522128077
