Street Shack didn't really do it for me. The menu did seem interesting so I did a little quick research on what to eat before placing my order.

A lot of people raved about the ribs so I had that. Found it too salty and the sauce too oily. Overall, nothing special in my opinion, but at least the portions were generous.

I also saw they had poutine and wanted to try that (I, for the life of me, cannot say no to poutine). Another disappointment. Also found it too salty and its as if any set of fries, cheese (should be cheese + cheese curds), bacon, and gravy were put together. There was no harmony in the flavors. It was also a bit too oily.

Ordered the clam chowder as an appetizer. Again, too salty. That was the saltiest clam chowder I've had, and the soup seemed a lot browner than the clam chowder I'm more accustomed to. Couldn't even finish the cup.

Used to just ignore this small shack along Aguirre St. in Paranaque. Then I finally decided to check out the place and see what kind of food they serve. Highly recommended by the servers were the Jerky Pork Ribs so I tried.

The ribs is to die for..promise! and reasonably priced too at Php 228. They got this unique sauce that is so yummy that I had to order extra sauce. So next time you are in the area, check out this place and order the ribs.128522

Tonight, Anthony and I are on a mission! And that's to eat!!! A LOT! Yayyy! Can all missions be like this? 128513

First stop: Street Shack.

We wanted something light and for sharing so we wouldn't be full right away. We were looking at the pictures posted in the walls for their "bestsellers" and we can't really decide which one to pick 128517 because they all look good!

We chose this, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, because the couple in front of us recommended it and mukha siyang masarap. 128513

Lesson: DON'T LISTEN TO STRANGERS!! 128527

The philly cheese steak was:
1. The meat was tough! Very! 128078 And the only tender parts were, sadly, fats. TABA + LITID. 128529
2. It tasted more like a pizza than a sandwich.
3. It was too salty (and sweet). Basta, the flavor/taste was wayyy too much. 128529

The only thing we liked was the bread. It was soft and had a very nice taste. But aside from that, none. Nothing else worth the space in my tummy! 128527

In keeping with the name of the place, it was simple and small with a laid back vibe but it was clean and cute. There were just a few bar stools inside the shack and a few small tables outside (made out of colorfully painted car tires) plus a stack of monoblock chairs and tables ready to be set up should there be a need.

The menu had ribs, burgers, sandwiches, fries... and, interestingly enough, craft beers! Since it was our first time at Street Shack, we wanted to try almost all of their food so we ordered the jerk-style ribs (spicy with the meat falling off the bones - yummy!), the philly cheese steak (the cheese steak was good although I thought it had a bit too much bread and not enough cheese steak), poutine (fries with bacon and cheese and all sorts of fat - so good we ordered a second serving!), The Shack Attack burger (two very thick beef patties with a bit of coleslaw and dressing - we couldn't finish it so we took most of it home), choco lava cake (serving was very small and simple but surprisingly good!), and my husband had a couple of craft beers. All reasonably priced, I think!

Knowing that Street Shack has been operating for less than a week when we tried it last Sunday, my husband and I were managing our expectations. But we were pleasantly surprised! The food and service were very good! Will definitely go back!
