Sumlang Lake in Daraga is one of Albay's most visited tourist attactions in recent years. A 14-hectare lake that was once covered in water lilies, residents of the area cleaned it up and it offered a different view of the majestic Mayon Volcano.

Entrance fee to the lake is P10 per head. People can enjoy a relaxing afternoon here and can rent a balsa for just P25 and cruise the lake. These bamboo rafts are made of abaca and there are chic chairs attached to it. There are also kayaks and paddle boards available for rent.

My friends and I visited Sumlang Lake on a (very) hot afternoon. Regardless of the heat, we enjoyed the cruise on the lake and we took lots of pictures! Sumlang Lake in itself is already a beauty, but with the picturesque Mayon Volcano as its backdrop, it just added to its charm.

Considered as an ecological park, people can bring their own food and enjoy a picnic here. There were lots of families and barkadas who did just that when we were there. It's a great outdoor bonding activity.

If you ever find yourself in Albay, make sure to add Sumlang Lake to your itinerary! 💯
