One of the things I look forward to on Sundays is the "Feast" we do after The Feast. Since mom joined us a couple of months ago, it has been part of our routine to spend few more hours together outside our home, and of course over something we're good at doing - kwentuhan over food. 🤗

For today, we thought of visiting our kuya and our niece. Fetch them from their house, and went to The District Imus. We didn't want to go farther because we had to drop them back to their house. Since there are limited restaurant choices, and my other brother made me crave for Japanese as well, no other option but Sumosam.

We were greeted by the staff and one enthusiastically led is to a table fit for six people, and immediately provided a booster seat for my niece. Menus were provided for each of us, and we ordered the following:

128523 Kani Pomelo Salad - this was my choice. I loved this. Feelt healthy until i munched on the tasty crab sticks! 128539
128522 Spicy Tuna Salad - this has been a favorite, same with the next.
128523 Spicy Caravan - oh we just love this spicy maki! We had two orders (8pcs per order).
128522 Chicken Teriyaki - this isn't really mine, but tried anyway. Saraaap. Mapapa-additional rice if I pushed it.
128523128074 Salmon Ebiko Don - loved this as well. One because it has rice. Two because the salmon is fresh, not malansa. I love the shiitake mushrooms in it. Malasaaa! 🖒

Other orders I didn't try were Sizzling Salmon, and Ebi Tempura.

Great food, great service. Hope other restaurant staff would have the same service enjoyment as the staff here at Sumosam. It made our lunch a little bit more fun because they made everything so easy - taking orders, food service, extra requests and bill out. All were attended to smoothly. 🖒

We never fail to order their curry katsu. It's not too spicy and have the right amount of curry in the sauce. Kids love their ramen. Place is also great for casual dining.

I'm a huge fan of Japanese food! I go crazy over them and I could eat Japanese food everyday! I can barely remember how many times we've been here so here's my ultimate fave - the dynamite: it's a kind of maki that has small pieces of salmon sash and crispy salmon skin on top, it comes with a really yummy sauce and it's a bit spicy(i love spicy food) but you can ask them to put less chili powder if you don't like em too spicy. I always order salmon sashimi, gyoza, cheesecake(yummers) and i have this new fave the 'squid karaage'(i'm not sure if it's karaage or kakiage) i super like it! it's like a calamari but a lot tastier and the dip is amazing(you can always ask for more dip). Their japanese fried rice is also good as well as the tempura ramen(mom's fave). They also have steaks but i haven't tried it yet cause i've tried their beef bento and i didn't like it that much. And if you're on your diet they also have salads(try the california maki salad it's yummy!) I love the ambiance and the staff cause they're super nice, i just don't like it when my hair and my clothes smell food after eating. and they recently have a wifi and it's fairly fast, just ask the staff for the passcode.

Hubby and I had our dinner here last thursday our first choice was at Wee Nam Kee, but sadly they had a Company reservation that time. So we ended up here.

The last time we were here is their soft opening. We ordered Sizzling Chicken, Katsudon and California Roll, for our drinks we ordered the usual Red Berry Iced Tea.

The Sizzling chicken was tasty but too much onions and the rice is too oily, the Katsudon was ok, and the California Roll too.

The place was packed and all the staffs are busy attending their customers, and one of the staff who served us had forgot to refill our Iced tea, I'm the one who asked pa for the refill.

Flavorful and 'whapak'! Ang mahal! 128561 May i gulat-gulatan ang drama namin ni husband when we realized before checking out that the gyoza and bacon enoki are a lot more (as in totally) expensive than our main course! Kaloka itey!

The miso soup 127861: one of the best i've ever had. The crunchy seaweed and serving (good for 2 at 60 pesos) make the difference.

Gyoza and bacon enoki 127843: both tasted really good. The gyoza was not extraordinary but it was soft despite having it fried. The enoki was difficult to chew and swallow 128560. Yes, mahirap. Imagine us asking for a fork and a knife to handle those suckers! Bwahahaha! But the sauce was pretty good...close to Tempura's bacon wraps.

Jap carbonara: i ordered it coz it intrigued me. Ano naman kaya ang lasa ng carbonarang may tempura at seaweed? Ano kaya ang feeling ng china-chopstick ang pasta? Ayun! Pak! Pasok sa banga! Yummmeh! Ngyorap! I was literally telling my husband to eat some while i was putting some on my mouth. Dramang pg lang ang peg. Haha! It looked weird but it was worth the courage to order. Creamy and complimenting.

Hubby's voltron chilidog: bread was soft in the inside, crunchy from the outside. Hotdog was nice, chili was sweet! Hahahaha! Try it.

Mango yakult with grass jelly 127865: hey yo yakult fans out there! Try this! Sweet, tangy, and yummy. Its flavor lingers. Dont drink this while having the enoki...mabubulunan ka lalo. Hahaha!

Ganap ang service. Winnie cordero sa pagiging hospitable, not overrated.

Btw, we went to sm southmall branch, not the district.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants although this is not so authentic Japanese. Went there lunch time with hubby, baby and uncle. We ordered kani tempura, fried gyoza, tuna sashimi, japanese rice, tofu steak and beef teppan. Beef was medium rare, and tasted great. They served huge chunks of tofu with slices of mushroom and beef mixed with a very special sauce. Pricey though, food starts at Php 250

Service wasn't so good, waiters lack proper training especially in handling foreign customers. The 3 Iranian guys beside our table had so much to complain. Either their food was not cooked well or the order was wrong. I could not count how many times they called someone and asked for assistance. Sumosama service and servings is way much better in SM Southmall Las Pinas.

This is a fairly new franchise in The District Ayala and I am hoping they change or upskill their servers.
The food is okay though 128077
