Had dinner here after a very tiring spin class with a friend I haven’t seen in months. I chose this place to try something new. Vegetarian. Woohoo! Cruelty-free! Although, I’m a solid carnivore, so medj occasional lang ito. But I’d also have to agree with almost everyone when saying that if food at home was this good and clean, I’d probably go vegan.

Anyway, I had the Autumnal for dinner. Discovered this whilst going through Peanut D's review. It has a gluten-free option, but I stuck to the regular pasta, afraid I might not enjoy it as much. It was a red base pasta with sundried tomatoes, olives, and mushroom. It was a little spicy, tolerable though, just like Peanut said. And for something vegetarian, it was surprisingly good, but I think without the spiciness it wouldn’t be so good. The serving is just right; I even got to share some of it with my friend.

Pricey, but health is wealth! And how often do you find a vegetarian restaurant with good and tasty food, right? 128048

I'm really sad. Really, really sad. Is it true you're closing?

It was bound to happen. I've dined many a times here with just me in the restaurant for dinner. Maybe the carnivorous majority still isn't ready for your food. All I know is I love your food. It's packed with flavor, it's guilt-free, and it's a pity most didn't even want to give you a try.

In our last meal here the H and I were again dining alone. I'm just glad he doesn't mind that I like this place. Pictured is their gluten free chocolate cake we had a few weeks ago. I hope you open a smaller store in BGC that can sustain a smaller following.

I will keep the The Emerson, The Gaudi and the chimichurri burger in my dreams. If you haven't tried them, you still have time to show them some love.

If you ever had the urge to try vegan but not sure if it is right for you, this is the place to see vegetarian at its best. The menu is extensive. I would avoid something like Mac and cheese , o my because of mental preconceptions of what it is going to taste like. Not because it is t good. The shepherds pie was incredible. Full flavor and a rich gravy that I would challenge a carnivore to taste it against their favorite and tell me the vege version is not better. The dish photo was my friends. I was already wolfing mine down before the thought of.a photo came to mind. A picture, no matter how great, could never do justice for the flavor a waiting for you here. Go for it!

What I ordered was their beet burger. I forgot what the name is because its very long and "kakaiba" haha. Sadly, I didn't liked it. Maybe because it was my first time to eat vegan burger. Hehe. My boyfriend ordered pasta and I also forgot the name! Sorry guys! Hehehe. And to my surprise, he loved it! Natatakot ako actually kumain dito kasama siya kasi di naman siya vegan wannabe like me. Haha. I should definitely come back for their dessert!!!

While I'm not an expert on vegan dishes, I'm no novice as well. I've gone for months as a vegan but sadly, Susi didn't leave a wow factor for me and I only enjoyed half of my burger. I like the beet and beans patty something but their GF bread is just too heavy and oily for us. The moby dip and buns were almost if not the same, so imagine chewing all that down. The pasta was ok and so far the best we had. I tried their desserts too- the choc muffin and the crinkles. Those are good but way too dry. Love the rich dark cocoa flavor though and no bad sugar flavor. Since, I love veggies and vegan dishes I'm willing to come back and try their salads instead! :)
On the pic: El Chimichurri, Moby Dips, & Carb-no-nara.

After an electric cycling sesh in the morning, getting some grub is always my next agenda.

I'm pretending to be healthy so I decided to eat again at Susi.

Their Carb-No-Nara caught my eye. Carbonara without dairy, and without meat. I was curious.

It used cashew cheese and mushroom bacon.

Not bad for a vegan dish.

Although the price was prohibitive at 425 pesos. The serving was dainty. I'll stick to the burger next time.

This is a very late review.

I ordered the El Chimichurri and was blown away by how it did not make me feel deprived. In fact, eating half made me full already.

The beet burger patty is reminiscent of a falafel as I can taste some chickpea flavors somewhere there.

Chimichurri is a favorite condiment of mine so this immediately won points for me.

I like the sweet potato fries as well.

The gluten free bread though is kind of weird in texture. But, that's how it is when you use gluten-free flour, it lacks a certain structure. Good thing I have no celiac-disease that necessitates the avoidance of gluten in all forms.

Price-wise, a bit on the high side but with the size of this burger, great value!

Definitely don't take your parents (aka oldie squad) here! Unless they've got the hipster vibe going cuz mine certainly did not enjoy the SUSI experience; plus I overheard the parents on the other table complaining to their children as well haha (dined here last Mother's day - yes I know, super late review.)

I loved their complimentary "bread" sticks with mushroom dip. At first I thought it was the faux-gras appetizer we ordered. Good thing the kitchen failed to deliver that out or else we would've had two bread dishes. The parentals on the other hand didn't like the bread since it's not made out of wheat flour the texture's really different from your normal bread.

The Carb-Nonara was a sure miss. It was more like Cardboard-nara. Seriously. We couldn't finish this dish. Super bland and paperlike tasting. 128078🏻

The Gaudi was good, really clean Raw Lasagna (made out of raw zucchini). The Beet burger was okay. Tomato soup was a miss as well because it was more beet than tomato.

Love the ambiance here though! Especially during lunch we sat by the window. :)

I hope more and more organic resto will pop up!
I love the ambiance! Veranda type is perfect! Country type style within a city 128077
Section where we ate is in the corner just perfect if you don't want to be disturbed and just right for girly chitchats or a romantic date!

Food 128523
The Alcott- tomato stew with Kale, Spinach, garbanzos, shitake mushroom- loved it! Although I think brown rice didn't go well with the dish.

Guinotto it's a risotto type dish where quinoa and scallop are the main ingredients, it's heavy but it lacks additional toppings to balance the taste

Dessert- Strawberry muffin tasted bland probably because of the wheat which is ok for me because I don't like it too sweet

Dark choco ganache? Can't remember but the dark choco goes well with susi house blend coffee. It was just so strong that I palpitated and was awake until the wee hours! 128563

Over-all I'm going to come back to try their brunch 128077

This place is probably the most researched and well thought out healthy menu I've come across. My boyfriend and I are getting more and more health conscious so organic food is a big thing for us now but I was never really into vegan dishes especially since we're very much into protein rich foods. Susi however has changed the way I see vegan dishes.

If my house cooked the way Susi does, I don't think I would mind being a vegetarian! They are so creative in the way they are able to imitate certain ingredients like cheese, chorizo, bacon, scallops, and burgers by using VEGETABLES and spices. They ACTUALLY taste like the real stuff and that really impressed me! It's a very interesting menu that you just wanna try everything.

I recommend the appetizer with three sauces paired with their gluten free bread (everything here is gluten free by the way!). Their carb-no-nara is pretty cool too (all their pastas are made of quinoa and non-GMO corn), their shepherd's pie, and the chorizo sandwich. My favorite is the scallop quinotto though. It's a quinoa teriyaki risotto with mushroom "scallops" that really taste like scallops!128516 Cool uh?

Their gluten free bread is used on all sandwiches so if you plan to eat a sandwich, don't get an appetizer that uses the same bread cause it's pretty heavy and kakaumay if you eat it all the way. That's my personal tip.

Also, order a side of their mushroom "bacon." it really tastes like bacon.128514

Finally for drinks, their vanilla coconut shake is the bomb.128077

Love the ambiance. Great place for a light and cozy date or an intimate catch up with friends. Also a good place to be alone.:) Very chill.

Best part about Susi though is that everything is an absolute guilt-free meal and it's filling.128076 Looking forward to trying more dishes. I have my eyes on the Mac and "Cheese" next!

Susi serves vegan gluten-free food, and delicious food at that. The Mac & Geez was delicious, you would barely notice that it doesn't use actual cheese. The pasta was chewy and al dente - almost the same as traditional pasta but this one is made of quinoa. I only wished it had a little bit more of the smoked paprika.

My friend ordered the sea shepherd pie which she said was really good - she'd go back for it. We shared an order of the smoked mushroom pate with some warm gluten free bread - the smoky flavour was subtle but overall the pate was great. We finished it down to the last few bits.

I also tried the vegan dark chocolate cake which was TO DIE FOR. It was pretty dense and heavy, so I ended up taking home the other half for dessert the next day.

Definitely coming back to try their other food items!

Vegan and gluten-free!

Susi, which I think is a direct translation of being a "key" to sustainable living.

I'm no vegetarian, most definitely not a vegan, but I do try to eat healthy when I can. If my food tasted like this everyday I would would not mind crossing over. Gluten-free? Wow, they make it sound so #soshal.

I ordered The Gaudi. A raw (meaning uncooked) veggie lasagna with zucchini, cashew "cheese", pesto and their own marinara sauce. Served cold like a terrine. I've read a lot about zucchini lasagna so I decided to try this one. Did not disappoint! I love, love, loved it! One bite pa lang and my taste buds were rejoicing.

My cousin ordered The Emerson, a lentil loaf which went well with my lasagna. Of course she gave me 2 slices. I love lentils and this was like eating a good meatloaf.

My lasagna's serving was a bit small. We actually laughed when it was served to us. But with my extra 2 slices of lentil loaf, I got just the right amount of busog after the meal. My cousin almost couldn't finish her order as she found it very filling. If you're a hefty eater though baka their portions will not be enough for you.

We came in before the sun set. The dining area looked like a small, pretty sun room. Towards the evening I found the lights a bit too dim. The server said talagang ganun lang sya. So mejo pang date ang vibe?

I will most definitely be back. I was so happy with my food I told our server to give our compliments to the owner and the chef. Yes, a bit pricier than normal but they make it up with fresh, clean flavors. I will return to try the beet burger.

It's the best place to have a completely gluten-free and vegan meal. The food is tasty and full of flavor. It's super filling and will keep you full for hours!

The place is really cozy and reminds me of NY. I love the first floor dining area, with all that light 128522

In this photo, I included Mac n Geez, Mr Phoenix and Eat Your Feelings. Other dishes you should try are Bella Note and Berry White.

So good! Not cheap though. A typical 3-course lunch will cost you around P1k/person. Main dishes cost P250-P550. Best to get there early since lunch and dinner brings in packed crowds or make a reservation.
