i was very much looking forward to dine here since I've read in a review that they serve good Japanese food at such affordable price. I was fooled. Even though I was really hungry that time we ate there, I cant find even a bit of "delicious" grain or crumb in my other. I had to apologize to my bf for dragging him here and feel even sorry for myself for expecting too much. Will.not.come.back.

Surprisingly good Gyoza! Oyster Butter is a classic here. Also had fresh Salmon Sashimi with a cool bottle of SML! :)

Suzukin EDSA is a franchise of the 1980s Suzukin Japanese restaurant along kamagong.

I learned about Japanese food in the early 1990s by eating here together w/ my CCP officemates. It's a simple, almost karinderya type restaurant w/ affordable food. I loved the miso soup, oyster butter, yasai itame, ebi tempura, ebi maki there. Even after resigning from CCP, I'd make it a point to drive to makati just to eat at Suzukin. That's before I discovered Seryna, now my staple and favorite Japanese restaurant.

A few years ago, I remember wishing they'd open a Suzukin branch in QC - wish granted. But how different this branch is from the original Suzukin.

The food is so bad I didn't even finish it. The oyster butter was too salty & didn't taste like butter. The miso soup tasted far from miso soup. The yasai itame was soggy. The only passable dish was the ebi tempura. Everything was so disappointing.

I'd drive to kamagong next time.
