The only legit Jazz Cafe in Manila that it was even recognized by Herbie Hancock, a known musician in the genre as told by Noli Aurillo(plays mean jazz guitar tunes regularly in the cafe). 127926

Even before we got to the place, a friend was in contact via sms and made a reservation for us. They spoke casually and conversed in a funny way, accommodating in a sense that they notify of light rains and ask if we're still arriving then we got to the place that's so 'Tago' as the name literally translates to, you won't even notice its a cafe if it weren't for a few blue lights from inside.

It really was just a small house decorated with few lights, paintings around, chairs and stools then the play area with instruments. It's homey even if there are some leaking areas that were obvious and they notify beforehand too since it was raining. It has been around for 7 years and built by owner Nelson G. who plays the drums too. We were seated right in front of Noli and had the chance to converse with him the whole time, he got to know us, our names and spoke about music so passionately and up til we left, he remembered! He actually went to every table in between and spoke to everyone. 128588🏼

Now, the food was good especially the pizza we had!
Wen Apo- Vigan longganisa and Bagnet pizza had thin crust and was crisp, the longganisa may have a few colder bited but it still tasted good with the crispy bagnet. 128076🏼
other than that, we had Sticky fingers( potato fries w/cheese sauce and longganisa again) good for pulutan but the meat pieces were little and the cheese sauce was the watery kind. The owner himself cooks the food btw.

Restroom though was small and had no flush and they had a sink but no water coming out.

Jazz is easy to listen to with all the different kinds, it tends to be like a lullaby to my ears whether it's slow or fast paced. There's always a first but there's not always a second. I know for a fact that i'll be back here 128522

If you're into an intimate crowd of jazz music lovers, then you will definitely love this place. Food and beer are affordable too :)
