Talaandig School.of Living Traditions is established the 1990s. It among the first SLTs instituted in the country. It serves as a haven for learning and preservation of the Talaandig culture and traditions.

At a very young age, they learn reading, writing and arithmetic alongside traditional Talaandig values and mythologies, dance techniques, and music. The knowledge on the Talaandig people including their roots and identity are disseminated in the form of entertainment such as storytelling, chanting, music and instrument playing.

It was in 2106 when I first came here and have spend a week of immersing and learning their culture. There were workshops on how to do Soil Painting, where we literally went up the mountains to look for a good soil. Flute making, arts and crafts with beads, playing their musical instruments that they themselves made.

When I came back a few weeks ago, I am happy to be reunited with my Talaandig family. It was a swet reunion with music and lots of laughters! There were alot of improvements now like more bamboo houses and artworks that are found in the community.

It is the same warmth and sense of family that keeps us all together!
