Finally, I found a barbershop near my place that meets my haircut requirements. The barber who cut my hair knows what he's doing. When I asked him to do his magic for a really short hair he gave me a fade cut that's perfect for my chubby face. I also love the music playing. More than a month since my first haircut, my hair still looks good even when longer. Will need to do a visit again one of these days.

I've been going to this barbershop in Cubao lately bec of my boyfriend. This barbershop is for men. It is located exactly at Cubao Expo.
When you go inside, it will give you a different vibe. You feel so welcomed because the staff are accommodating. Sometimes you have to book a reservation esp during weekends because they're always fully booked.
The barbers are courteous and very friendly. They are experts and they dont just do haircuts but they also do massages. They're very professional. The Manileño package is P350, comes with haircut, scalp massage and drink of choice. You can choose from scotch, beer, coffee or juice). If you dont want the package, then you can just have the basic haircut for P250. Their famous haircut is the "pompdour" style which would make you feel soo handsome after!
They have a retro-vibe interiors. They also have 2nd floor, where you can wait. They recently opened their mini cafe upstairs which serves special brewed coffee from Ifugao and other places. The coffee costs P100 comes with free chocnut!

When it comes to my hair, I'm kinda finicky. I used to go to Gary of Salon de Manila for my regular cuts then I changed address so I had to find another good stylist and found Garon of Essensuals by Toni and Guy. He's still my stylist for cuts that are non-average.
However, since I'm usually sporting a really short hair, I realized, the salon's rate is not really practical for the little hair they take out of my head. So I looked for good barbershops.
I've had a number of hits and misses until my bestbud recommended to me this hipsterish barbershop which is sort of a hole-in-the-wall if it was a restau.
The barbershop's name is Talas Manileño and it's located inside Cubao X. It's a really small place with the feel of a hipster-vintage yet classy barbershop, something that you know would give you a bang for your buck and they're not expensive at all.
For Php280, you get a really good styled, guapo, talas cut with a quick massage to boot. Mang Ernie did my hair and I have to say it's the first time that a barber really got what I wanted for so long and I didn't even show any photo pegs! (I always show pegs to barbers for fear of botched cuts). You will also be styled with their own brand of pomades that have really good hair hold.
They also have packages for the more maarte guys. The owner of this small and hip barber shop is Jericho Rosales. The one manning it is his brother. If you want to get accomodated without waiting for long, you have to call first and set an appointment.
Otherwise, you can always walk in and wait or walk around the other hipster shops inside the X while waiting for your turn.
