I'm on a (Maki) roll with Japanese food!!! I loved the Beef Gyudon set I got. It wasn't bland unlike the previous Beef Gyudon I had from Watami. This restaurant is a little bit pricier than most casual dining Japanese restaurants but it's worth it! Service is just okay. One of my biggest pet peeves are waiters chatting while waiting on tables. I feel like I'm straining their attention when I interrupt their conversation to take my orders. :-/ Tanabe is prolly one of the Japanese restaurants out there that you might wanna check out if you feel like having good and authentic Japanese food!

✅ Ambiance - Reminds me of the Japanese restaurant in Kill Bill. The one where Uma Thurman went on a mad killing spree!

🆗 Kami Suki Nabe (mixed seafood, beef & veggies served on a paper pot) - Nicely presented and tastes ok, but too small of a serving for the price.

❎ Salmon Sashimi - Not the freshest.
❎ Di ko alam na maki (see photo) - Not properly rolled. Breaks easily. I suspect they didn't use sushi rice.
❎ Service - Everyone looks aligaga and in a hurry. Water refill never came.

Went here on a sunday. Went to Yabu first, but then we were 31st in line! 128534 So decided to go somewhere else.

Just wanted to relax.. Have some beer.. Good food. Thank God we found this place..

They have a very relaxing ambience overlooking Manila bay. There weren't so much people in that area as well so i felt sort of peace and quiet.

There menu was a bit pricier than other japanese restaurants but for the authenticity and quality of food, i'd still give it 5 stars! 128522

Authentic Japanese 9786 They still serve crispy sweet & spicy anchovies (dilis) and tofu for appetizers (we asked for extra dilis)! P1,200 for mixed sushi & sashimi enough for 3 to share! Will definitely be back!

My mom and dad started to search for a restaurant that offers balcony table reservations for the 4th International Pyromusical Competition at the SM Mall of Asia.

And poof! We found Tanabe! lol They offer authentic japanese foods. Their Salmon Sushi and Beef with mixed veggies were just spot on!

Even though it was kind of expensive, It was really worth it because aside from the fact that we have an excellent seat to watch the pyromusical, we were also served great food and great service from their staff. 128076

Japanese restaurant by the bay! It's Tanabe-eyyy! Looking for some authentic Japanese food in the metro? Try this one! They serve you the ever favorite Japanese dishes the way you want it (authentic). Ambiance's nice. You're like inside of a Japanese Bamboo Garden or a Japanese Bamboo Bar or something. Staffs are nice and attentive (and it looks like they hired half Jap - half Fil staffs, hmm mystery). Some chefs and sushi chefs are Japanese! And a lot of Japanese immigrants and tourists eat here. Worth the try! Worth the price? Hehehe. Not bad.

I have only dined in here twice and each time becomes very special.

The ambiance is very refreshing. Inside the restaurant will give patrons that mini-Japan feeling while a view of Manila Bay welcomes those who want to dine outside. The staff were very accommodating.

Their bento contains katsudon, miso soup, vegetable salads, tofu jelly and a free scoop ice cream. I also ordered their Cherry shake. They were all delicious!

Tanabe is quite pricey but the food and service are worth it.

Right when we entered through the Japanese themed restaurant, I could feel that I was going to get a dinner that will not only satisfy me, but also leave me wanting more. The side dishes were delicious and very appetizing. i recommend trying the Japanese tofu as it had a very good taste. The food were also great, be it tempura, Teppanyaki, Sashimi, etc. Though the prices on the menu were a bit pricey, we all agreed it was all worth it. Favorite Japanese restaurant aince Iseya, along Malate, closed down.
