While Chinese cuisine seems cliché to a lot of Filipinos, Tao Yuan stands out with its exemplary service and delectable selections. Whether it is the staple Yang Chow Fried Rice, or their take on 2-way Peking Duck, one will definitely forget his/her diet plans and cholesterol guilt when feasting upon them. If MSG might be an issue to you, this place (like most Chinese restos) still has it, but at a "tamer" concoction.

Haven't been to RW in a while and I must say, the parking system is much more organized now! Shops are clean and most have newer stocks than the one in malls.
Anyways, off to tao yuan. It was my first time but it's one my husband's and his family's fave restos and their go to dish is the laksa (in picture). One order is 388 and it good for two 128077🏼 we also got an order of yang chow fried rice and spicy Szechuan beef.
Service was superb, our server never left our side and served the soup expertly. The rice was delicious! Ulam Na! Haha! The spicy beef was good too. The laksa though was tdf! At first I thought it was too spicy but it grew on me 128518 the best though was at mr raffles in BF pero sad they're closed Na.
When we were about to order our dessert, our server said we had complimentary mango sago! Yay!
A bit pricey though, total bill was 1300+ but worth it IMO 128513

I'm crazy about cereal prawns though I hate fried seafood.this one tasted a bit different from the Malate branch which, was better but it's sweet and perfectly crunchy none the less. 150/prawn, I guess we can call it another guilty pleasure of mine since I'd finish 6 of this alone easily! haha 128514

I love singapore-chinese fusion dishes and Tao Yuan does it really well. Ever since my friend celebrated his birthday here, I've been craving for the chili crab and cereal prawns. Too bad the cereal were oos (again!)128548. Good thing the chili crab with fried mantou was theres to save the day. It was really delicious and done just the way I like it. Not too eggy or leaning to a sour taste. It was actually very rich & flavorful. The crab was not old or the frozen kind. Although, the bak kuh teh was too authentic that it had the herbal taste kind. The version I like is that of the Malaysian kind. As for the hainanese, I had no idea they make such a good one! The rice was really fragrant and flavorful. The boys had two cups each! Lol. Kaya #dadbod eh haha Anyway, even the free almond jelly dessert was yummy. I love that and theirs was almost creamy and just perfect.

The only thing I didn't like is how the food wasn't served accordingly and it did took a little over longer. Also, the bathroom is horribly dirty & smelly. I think the Malate branch is better but I don't mind having a nearby Tao Yuan closer to my avail. 128513

Chinese food? Kahit everyday!!!! 128539 More so when it's a fine dining like this. 128525 I'm too shy to take a picture of the food eh. 128556

I remember we were also here two years ago when hubby celebrated his Birthday. And just last month, there is this another important event to celebrate also. 128516

We had Hainanese Chicken, Hainanese Fried rice, and Assorted Chinese cold cuts platter which includes Jelly Fish, Century egg, Pork and Chicken...
The combination of these three is the best for me! 128571

The Hainanese chicken with ginger & chili paired with delicious Hainanese rice, oh and it smells so good, much more how it tastes!
Everything was just awesome plus this free fruit dessert on the picture....Ahhhh, thank God, I'm soo full. 128523

In one of the looloo eatups, Peanut D posed a poll question: "Which types of food/dish turned out to be just a fad". Being the shy guy I was, I couldn't voice out "Hainanese Chicken Rice" in front of the other looloo reviewers that I just met. In the same way that I can't ask her for the looloo hoodie and umbrella to shield myself from the heavy rain pouring outside. Nakakahiya kasi9996128513.

Tao Yuan serves the best Hainanese Chicken Rice. It's just unfortunate that they don't include the rice with the chicken anymore. They're separate orders now. 128532

It may be a fad for some, but for those who truly love authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice, they will always have Tao Yuan at their side. 128522

LOVED the Hainanese Chicken at Tao Yuan. I can't exactly pinpoint what makes it so much better than the others, but I just know that I love it so much. It's so far the best Hainanese Chicken I've ever tried in the Metro. But for the record, I still love Wee Nam Kee's as well. :)

The fried spareribs with garlic were also really good because they're not tough at all. I also liked how they've topped the dish with so much crispy garlic. Yum!!!

Make sure that you guys order their Laksa, too. It's tasty and the pungency did not kill the entire flavor of the dish. The hotness or spiciness was just right.

We also ordered the steamed broccoli, bird's nest, singaporean mango lapu lapu (which was good too by the way) and rice. All of these other dishes we ordered were good too but for me, the first three dishes that I mentioned stood out. :)

Was too early for my friend's party so I decided to give in to my cravings and went straight to Tao Yuan.

It was a party of 1, so kind of awkward that I got 1 order of Fujian Rice all to myself 128523 Takaw lang! Haha! Thank God some friends arrived early and helped me out tho we still couldnt finish it.

Service was great. Hostess was welcoming and didnt give me that look na "mag-isa ka lang" haha! The servers were helpful and friendly.

We treated our inlaws here on their wedding anniversary.
We ordered the following:
Drunken suahe - cooked in front of you.
Roast peking duck
Blue dotted Garoupa (my father-in-law's favorite)
Hainanese chicken.
For the price we paid, I could have ordered 6-7 Crab Sotanghon (big ones) at Fook Yuen :)

Food tasted great! Espcially the beef tenderloin and yang chow fried rice. Yay for free dessert!

Super fast service but the down side was the order taker, she has an attitude and was not that knowledgeable and accommodating.

Tao Yuan's Beef Tenderloin in Special Sauce

Tried this dish weeks ago while waiting for my cousin to arrive at the airport.

We chose Resorts World Manila as this is the closest place to the airport.....and this seems to be the perfect place to have some time for leisure and pleasure while waiting....128516

Dinner time....at Tao Yuan. We ordered several dishes. There's soup, rice, vegetable, entrée, dessert.....but the beef tenderloin in special sauce was truly the best! It's like you haven't tasted beef before. Try it and you'll know what I'm talking about.128523128523128523

The beef tenderloin in special sauce, there's that chewy-chewy goodness with sweet sauce that complements the beef, as a whole. Perfect combination! It's hard to explain how good this dish is. If only my taste buds can speak...128069

I would definitely love to come back for more mouth watering beef tenderloin --- our fave Yshkael C 128077128077128077

Having dinner here now. Our waiter was sleepy. I even asked him "inaantok ka na ba?" I tried ordering their drunken shrimp to which he said that minimum is 300 grams. I asked him how come it's not in the menu because it is only written 168/100 grams. He said ganun daw talaga. And tatawagan nalang niya supervisor niya. He was very arrogant and rude. I will have a talk later with the supervisor. I suddenly lost my appetite.

If you crave Chinese food, you can try this one because they serve flavorful and yummy cuisines. But I must warn you, service here is "blah". Made me wait forever only to find out that my order has not been placed. So I was not surprised to read some previous post complaining about bad service. Clearly, their staff must be trained to handle grace under pressure when they welcome huge number of customers. People go here because of great food, but if they do not improve their service, they will eventually lose customers...

The hainanese chicken was good! Especially with the toyo-chili-ginger DIY sauce! 128076 The roasted duck had crispy skin and was tender. The yang chao was delish! We also got some veggies, which tasted good too. The free dessert was too sweet though. If I remember correctly, it was lychee with something-jelly. 128513 They have good food... However....

The person who was taking our order wasn't very pleasing. 128530 She wasn't smiling and it was as if she was annoyed. Also, there was a moment when a waiter was just staring at us (or our table) as if he were waiting for us to hurry up so he could clear our table. 128530

May I just say they offer one of the best Hainanese Chickens around here?! So cliché to even say it melts in the mouth, but it does!!

i loved their string beans as well!

But 3 stars because of the receptionist. Here's the story:

We went at 7PM to be listed. She asked us to wait because we're next, the table was being cleaned. Mom said give us 5 mins, we were just going to the casino to call Dad. When we got back after 10 mins, the table was clean, waiters were placing plates already. Receptionist asked Dad to look at the menu and "pre-order." Dad wanted to wait to be seated because we were next in line, diba? After 5 minutes, Dad asked, "Pwede na bang pumasok?" She said, "Not yet, Sir.". EH WALA NA NGANG TAO SA TABLE, malinis na, may plates na, utensils nalang kulang. My dad was getting impatient, so he walked in and sat down. I followed him. My bro went after me. We were greeted by the manager with a menu. After a couple more minutes, I wondered where everybody else was, kasi kami ni Daddy nag-oorder away na. I looked behind me and saw that the receptionist was holding the door, my family and the other family waiting for tables were in front of her. I raised my hand to them and asked them to join us. After a minute, wala pa ren. I stood up and went to the door myself. I asked them, "Ano pa ba hinihintay nyo, Pasko?". And Sheldon G said, "Bawal pa daw pumasok, ayan nakaharang sya sa pinto". I turned to the receptionist and asked her, "Bakit ayaw mo pa sila paupuin?". She said, "Hindi pa po tapos yung table i-set-up.". I said, "So anong gusto mo, umalis nalang kami?"

WAIT LANG PO 我的屁股!

I ate here with my family during Chinese New Year, the food was guhhhreaaaaat. Yumyum we had Roasted Peking Duck. 128523 Pricey but it's not a cheapipay tabi-tabi Chinese resto so yeaaah. Good for big occasions (especially if you're chinese!) because they've got BIIIIG space. But you have to have a BIIIIG amount of money ready to burn as well.

The only flaw i saw was they kinda have bad service.

That's all! But i loved the food. YUMMEH QUACK-QUACK 128036

Ordered my favorite sweet and sour pork... Just the perfect taste for Chinese New Year.
I liked the Hainanese rice with it.

Surprisingly, after I was satisfied by my meal, the server gave me complimentary lychee almond jelly for dessert... Good finish for free!
