Tapsi ni Vivian is our default dinner place when we want quick, affordable food.

They were extremely busy and packed last Saturday night that even the new parking area was full. Luckily, a parking slot opened up as we were waiting in front of the restaurant.

They were focused on dispatching orders and there was a bit of a wait before anyone could take ours and we could sit down. Almost all tables were occupied anyways or needed bussing out.

We each got a Tapsilog. The tapa was still as good, slightly salty, slightly sweet. I immersed them in the vinegar and it tasted even better. We love how the tapa makes the vinegar flavorful as well that we put it on our tasty garlicky rice. Hubby's fried egg was dry but mine wasn't.

The Ampalaya with Egg was seasoned just right and the bitterness was manageable. The Lumpiang Togue wasn't crunchy anymore but hubby found it ok. The Crab Relleno looked burnt and overcooked but the filling wasn't. It still tasted great especially for the price. I forgot to ask for catsup though.

It was a full house and there were lapses in service. They didn't give us utensils when they served the food. They must have been stuck in the dishwashing area as we asked 3 times. No complimentary soup. They probably ran out because I saw piping hot bowls of soup being circulated when we were done. It took a while for the soy dish, calamansi and sili to arrive. By the time they reached our table, we had already poured the vinegar into one of the serving containers.

Total damage for this meal was around P400 including a can of soda and 1 cup extra rice. Despite the hiccups in service, we will still go back for their delicious and affordable dishes.

*the airconditioning units weren't turned on. Come to think of it, we've never seen them turned on.

This place used to be known for their bulalo. Not sure why people are raving about their tapa when there isn't anything special about it. Their bulalo has become bulablah. Nice to go here when you're drunk and need a finishing touch 128540 by that time, the taste won't matter.

To-go place if you're craving for some Tapsilog. The beef is sweet but just right and the meat is soft. My sister order sisiglog but she said that it was too salty for her. But for the Tapsilog, it is a winner!

The tapsilog's at P100. So-so. They've changed the marination and added more tapa. The bulalo's not worth its price because it's too salty and oily with lesser serving. What's good about this place? It's open 24hours with ample parking space.

Too lazy to prepare dinner at home, we stopped by here after work.

On the table
Tapsilog - overly sweet that day even after dipping the tapa in suka. Fried rice still super good
Nilasing na Hipon - not that crispy and nakakasawa
Upo Guisado - seasoned well
Crab Relleno - it doesn't look like much but it was really tasty and for a whopping P50 only!

This is still one of our go to places for quick and affordable meals. And did i mention that the complimentary soup is very tasty!

I was really disappointed. 128545
I ordered liemposilog, the liempo that they served was cold and it was almost spoiled! And lastly, the staff was rude. 128544128544

It was a very cozy place with lots of silogs to choose from. The servings are fit to how much its cost. At 90-115 pesos you already have a full meal of the silog of your choice. You may also choose other dishes from their counter. It is a self service restaurant just like any fastfood places.

Would you just look at that sinful, vein-poppin' "utak"? 128540

Just looking at it made me look up to the heavens and pray. Pray that I'll still live after eating this. 128513

Tapsi Ni Vivian has been around for ages. It's most especially famous to party-goers and night owls. When I was younger, we frequented one of her branches for a quick, late-night tapsi fix and it always satisfied us. They are best known for their silogs. The tapsilog is a bit similar to Rodic's of UP. Apart from the silogs, they also have other dishes that you can choose from. They usually offer dishes that would remind you of home and my favorite is their porkchopsilog. 128077

I used to love this place but maybe I've had a few more of the similar dishes in other places so I already have something to compare it with. It still can compete, but in my books, it's not number 1 anymore.

For those who are completely drunk or hungry and the rest of the world is already snoring, this would be a perfect spot. 128076

It's cheap, too! 128077

Just 2 stars for this particular visit because of the food we ordered.

We were surprised to be able to park last night at almost 7pm. I wasn't that hungry so i just had some of the sisig. The server asked if we wanted onions which we mixed up with the sisig. We didn't enjoy it though because it was oily and there was a lot of fat.

Hubby's lumpiang togue was so hard to cut. Makunat na but they gladly changed it upon our request.... But it was still makunat

Their fried rice is the bomb. I can eat more than one cup (secret na lang how much more 128513) on a grumbling stomach.

The complimentary soup was good. I think it was the broth of their bulalo.

I'll stick to our favorites next time

I've read lots of good reviews about Tapsi ni Vivian so i was so excited to try it. But i was so disappointed. Nothing special with the tapsi. Too pricey. I was so shocked when we got our bill. Their lumpiang toge costs 35php per piece and it is small. I thought it was just 15php for its size. My face was like, " you gotta be kidding me. "

So disappointing.

I generally like TNP and their silogs, pero my first time in the Cainta branch I was so grossed out by the amount of bugs in the food.. They weren't big bugs but they were the size of an antik with wings. Love their tapa, Buko Pandan and Lechon kawali.. Sana next time walang insect toppings. :(

A new branch of Tapsi Ni Vivian is now open since February this year near my place (actually, it's 10minutes away lang). Like the original branch near Sta Lucia, it's also open 24/7. So luckily, on my way home from NAIA 3, I was able to pass by for some Filipino breakfast food. Don't get me wrong, the Korean food I have been eating the past 5 days have been nothing short of awesome but nothing beats the comfort of Filipino food at 230am. Agree? 128513

I ordered the tapsilog and the isaw platter (I missed them cholesterol haha) and it was okay. Won't jump out of my seat for it. I don't know if I'm biased or if I'm sleepy but I think the first branch's food is better. I don't know. 128529

What's good about this joint is that it:
✔️ has good service
✔️ has good lighting and good spacing in between tables
✔️ ample parking (well it's just 8 slots but if it's 230am there's no competition)

Improvement points:
✔️ it's too expensive (I paid 235 for a isaw and tapsilog order) 128078128078128078
✔️ food isn't as fresh (well it's 24/7 I'm sure most of the items were from last night but if it's already matigas, why serve it still?)

Glad to have tried it but won't be coming back anytime soon... Unless I'm lasing and I'm needing Filipino recovery food 128514
