Had dinner with my siblings and we decided Japanese! Thanks to a buddy of mine who ate here previously!
Was a little difficult to find thanks to waze but eventually found it! Go early because parking could be difficult! Place was packed mind you!
The restaurant itself is old. More like a house which they converted into a restaurant. Air conditioner w some electric fans and a tv w Filipino drama playing. The tables are covered in plastic. If it wasn't for my friends recommendation... I would seriously doubt this place.
Now to the food. We were 5 in all and we ordered for 7! The food is ok adjusted to the Filipino taste but done right. Everyone in the table said the tempura is the best and can fight the more expensive Japanese restaurants. One thing why I rated this place high was the price... This place was cheap! Paid 1700 for 5 people including drinks! Try it out!

Dont be fooled by how this place looks on the outside. Regardless of how sketchy it looks please do give it a chance and the food will definitely leave both your tummy and wallet happy!

They have an extensive menu of food choices in which we did not bother to go through as we were too hungry gawa ng friday madness traffic 128529 We went ahead and asked for the best sellers which were the california maki and the ten don (tempura don) we ordered the salmon roll, california maki, gyudon and ten don.

The makis were big in size and siksik in ingredients! The ten don and gyu don had so much rice, we had to have them for take out. Price wise this is really affordable and sulit for the quality and serving size that you're getting.

They were packed on a friday night! So if ever you're in the south, do give it a try. Pretty sure you wont regret it!

If you're from the south - BF / Alabang area - then you'd most likely have heard of this semi-hidden Japanese place with an unassuming exterior. Yep, that's Tatsunoko (formerly known as Bento-Ya)!

Food is CHEAP but hella good. Like, authentic good! Heard this was put up by a Japanese guy who used to run a canteen in Japan. And i think its been open for at least 15 years already in the exact same spot. If that sort of resiliency isnt a sign of how good the food here is, i dunno what is.

I've been eating here literally for years and this is the go-to place for delicious and straightforward, unpretentious Japanese food. My all time favorite from their menu would be the oroshi soba - soba noodles in a bowl of sweet soy sauce, with wasabi, spring onions, radish, and fried tempura batter bits. So simple yet so goooood. The flavors all blend so well and the contrast between the soft buckwheat noodles and the crispy tempura batter spell heaven with every mouthful. Dont see too many people ordering it, but do give it a try.

A special mention to their croquette (or koroke in japanese). Its a breaded and fried potato ball with ham, meat, and cheese. This, this is realllllly goood. *drools*

The other popular menu items are their california maki, salmon sashimi, tonkatsu/katsudon, chahan, and their sukiyaki - big, big serving! Those are sure winners for those who'd prefer to stick to the familiar. 128512

...this hole in the wall used to be named bento ya.

...simple no non sense interior and food is cheap.

...i would recommend their sukiyaki. For 190 bucks, they dont scrimp on the beef.

Nothing not to love here! The food is delicious, fill of flavor, filling, and ridiculously cheap! Can't wait to come back.

At first, I was a little hesitant to enter this place. It looks creepy especially with the somewhat bloody signage. But damn, food was good! And affordable too for a Japanese cuisine!

Their Chicken Curry Rice was flavorful, and stayed true to what a Japanese curry should be. There are chicken bits in that one though the veggies (potatoes and carrots) kinda dominated the dish. Still, it was very good and one that's for sharing. 127835128523127835
