Food's ordinary, nothing to rave about. Ordered: Chami, Salt & Pepper Squid and Cold Cuts. Servings were small. Paid Php700+ for the 3 dishes.

My family's a fan of chinese food. And we would scour places just to be able to try new things. Being near the Greenhills area, we looked around and found this place. Non assuming and definitely chinese-looking, we tried the place out because it just screams authentic Chinese.

Salted Fish Fried Rice
lots of spices and cut vegetables to compensate the saltiness of the rice. The fish flavor makes it a lot tastier than any fried rice I've ever tasted.

Assorted Cold Cuts
A regular staple in Chinese banquet, favorites such as roast chicken, asado, century egg and lechon macau. This is just the appetizer, a tease to a festival of taste about to lay before us.

Steamed Lapu Lapu
The freshness and softness of the fish, light soy sauce, and loads of scallions and cilantro leaves makes this dish irresistible!

Steamed Shrimp
As a shrimp lover, nothing can be more tastefully gratifying than fresh-from-the-tank steamed shrimps. I just love the naturally sweet taste of these! Once peeled, I like to soak them up for two minutes in the delicious dipping sauce before I eat them.

Chinese Crab & Sweet Corn Soup
This creamy egg-drop corn soup is a regular in Chinese households. I grew up drinking this stuff.

Overall, I love the food. We all enjoyed and their food was really prepared well. There are just some maybe that’s my taste bud is not used to eating. By the way, I have to mention that their staff were all friendly and nice. We will definitely go back to this place to try out the other dishes.

I've always given high praise for Taza de Oro's sweet & sour fish. Dinner was composed of take-out the other night and I requested for my favorite sweet & sour fish. It did not disappoint.

Fish were all crisp and evenly breaded. Breading was not too thick and not too thin that it was falling off the fish. Their sauce can get a tad sweet but a little hot sauce will fix all that.

Side note, when ordering for take-out, remember to ask them to separate the sauce from the fish so that the fish is still crispy.

Since the Starbucks in the immediate area closed down and Akiba Cafe started opening at 9am, I found myself in need of a new place for my morning fix.
Coffee here isn't good, but the tea is bottomless and the food is decent.
Featured here is their halo-halo congee. Various internal pork organs in steaming hot congee. Really refreshing especially if you enjoy eating liver, stomach, and intestines. Everything is cooked well. Reminds me of how some places in China serve it up. Probably the most authentic Chinese dish here. If you are into Chinese street food, this dish is a good option.

A family favorite from the Chinese menu is Xiao long Bao. So glad to know that Taza De Oro is now serving a delish Xiao Long Bao. :)
One order consists of 8 pieces.

The wrapper is not too thin, but you can immediately taste the jelly soup of this dimsum once you shoot a big bite inside your mouth.

This restaurant is accessible to those who frequent greenhills. Just along Ortigas near Xavier school.

If you wish to visit Taza de Oro, dont forget to order their Golden butter chicken as well.

Pray, Eat and Love.

Cheers,
The Food Scout

Golden butter chicken won my heart when I tasted this dish in Taza De Oro. From afar, you can smell the butter and crisp of its meat and skin. It's the kind of Chinese restaurant that isn't too pricey yet good quality of food and service.
Aside from their Golden butter chicken, you should also give your stomach a taste of their Hot & Sour soup and their Sweet & Sour Pork.
Wide range of choices for Chinese food enthusiasts. Better head to San Juan and see for yourself. Oh, and bring your family or friends since their serving sizes are not only good for one but for more. Two heads are better than one!
It's best to go on weekdays to avoid queue and difficulty in parking.
The Food Scout approves of Taza De Oro! :)
