We're suckers for trying new restaurants. Yes i know that Teddy's Bigger Burgers has been in Manila for a while but we don't frequent Makati. Jumped at the chance to try it in their recently opened Shangri-La branch.

Things looked promising. Lovely decors and Hawaiian vibe. Nothing popped out from the menu so we settled for a Bacon Me Crazy and a Macaroni Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The burger was average. The sandwich was too mushy. My mistake for not reading the menu well. I intended to order the Shrimp Sandwich, the photo above the Macaroni Grilled Cheese Sandwich 128513

Service was A OK until it was time for dessert. Hubby was bent on the Peanut Butter Skillet Brownie. It took a great deal and several follow ups before it was served. They couldn't give us a straight answer but it seemed like the order wasn't placed at all. They could have handled this better.

An expensive meal for so so food and not so great service. I highly doubt that we will give this place a second chance.

I don't like to eat burgers, but teddy's bigger burgers is something I constantly crave for now and then. I despise brioche buns and was absolutely relieved to find out that they serve potato buns instead. It's soft yet firm enough to retain its form, and doesn't stick to the hands? I had the cheeseburger and it was divine cooked medium well. Goes well with mustard and/or ketchup.

Garlic fries didn't taste oily and complemented the burger well. Their iced tea probably had a peach-like taste to it which I also loved.

I'll definitely be back for more burgers (only for this joint) and also to taste their milkshakes and pancakes.

Once upon a time, a genius discovered another way to enjoy beef. He turned it into beef balls and flattened it. Then he placed it in between two pieces of bread and added a few vegetables for crunch and that creation is one of the reasons why most of my posts have #dietsomeothertime and #fatkidoutside. *sigh*

Hello, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers!

I recall that the first time I saw this joint was almost a year ago. The line was crazy and it discouraged me to try it out. I was not willing to wait for over an hour under the summer heat. But thankfully, they opened a branch in Shangri-la a few months ago and I got my chance to try their famous burgers.

I went with Teddy’s bestseller, Kailua burger (PHP347, big) while my mom got the Hawaiian Style (PHP287) and my sister ordered the Bacon Me Crazy (PHP268, ¼ lb.). We also ordered shoestring fries (PHP88) as a side dish.

While waiting, my mom got a complimentary dessert in celebration of Mother’s Day.

First to arrive was my Kailua burger and it was yummy. The medium well thick patty with teri sauce, swiss cheese, grilled onions and mushroom is a winner! The bun though wasn’t that good as it gave up on us after a few minutes.

My mom liked her Hawaiian Style burger as well. I’m not really fond of pineapples on anything savory so I didn’t bother to try it.

My sister’s bacon overloaded burger seemed good but she didn’t share. She didn’t even let me take a photo of it! Oh well. (In case you’re curious, it also has cream cheese, cheddar cheese, grilled onions and truffle honey.)

Last served was our shoestring fries which was so oily to the point that we couldn’t enjoy it. :(

Overall though, it was a pleasant dining experience. I’ll visit again to try that Bacon Me Crazy burger that my sister didn’t let me try.

all the hype on hawaiian burger franchise in the phil- sad it did not match to expectation- 300-500 pesos burger price range. tried blue cheese and cheesy bacon. No onion rings and service was bad. For a sunday lunch crowd, only 30% table occupancy rate i guess it was a warning already. watch out friends!

When at Teddy's Bigger Burger and if you can’t seem to decide on what to order just like my daughter, stick to the Teddy’s Original. 5 oz. patty, onions, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and ooey-gooey cheese. You’ll never go wrong with this baby! 128077

When at Teddy's Bigger Burgers, order some Tater Tots to pair with your favorite burger.

Bite-sized crispy and very flavorful potatoes. If you ask me, this is way better than fries. I didn’t notice that I’ve been popping these tots into my mouth non-stop, making me a tad full even before by burger came. :)

Order some and tell me what you think. :)

This is my 100th review!

Food
Yummy! Teddy's Cheeseburger is love! It's huge enough and really good. The well done patty is still juicy and well seasoned to my liking. I just don't like the dressing - it's too much I think that it runs out when you have a bite.

Service
Fair.

Another dish that should not be missed that has Teddy’s 100% USDA Ground Chuck patty without buns but tastes just as awesome as their incredible burgers is the Western Loco Moco!

You know a meal is unbelievably delicious when folks talk about it even hours after you’ve consumed the dish. That is exactly the effect that this Western Loco Moco had on us. Close your eyes and imagine Teddy’s juicy patty, fried egg, onion rings + crispy bacon on top of steamed rice smothered with special Loco Moco gravy! The very flavorful gravy that deliciously sticks to the back of the spoon is just to die for! I really went loco!

Elvis Burger

This burger is inspired by the “King of Rock ‘n Roll” because Elvis Presley loved his burger with peanut butter, bacon and bananas. Kinda weird, right? I was weirded out too when it was served to us. But when I finally had a taste of this unusual burger, lo and behold, it ROCKed my world (pun intended)! As we all know peanut butter and bananas go well together but what you probably didn’t know is that the sweetness of the two ingredients actually work well with the saltiness of the bacon and the patty. This is a true stroke of a genius! Even my son went crazy over this Teddy’s Bigger Burgers specialty. He requested that his patty to be cooked medium to get maximum juiciness!

Diablo burger. One of their best seller burgers. If you like spicy get this. But I the level of spiciness is mild for me. :) love the jalapeños, baby!

Until my next food discovery.

Love,
E

My girlfriend and I are not huge fans of burgers. We do enjoy a burger once in a while, but we don't crave it as often as we crave for pizza or buffalo wings or for me, ramen. Burger joints have been sprouting left and right, and we do try some of them, because the foodies in us urge us to do so. So far, 8 Cuts is on the top of our list, a close second is Charlie's, which I think has deteriorated when Chef Robby Goco left.

I've been reading about Teddy's Bigger Burgers since it first opened its branch in Makati. I wanted for us to try it but the proximity and the traffic there is hell. But when a branch opened in Shangrila, we went there right away.

We didn't go for the Teri burger which is their signature burger according to the staff. We don't like Teriyaki sauce on our burger. So we got their cheeseburger. The simple it is, the more you'll get a taste of the beef and the buns. Th moment our teeth sank on the burger, the flavors started bursting in our mouths (parang porn-ish..anyway). We asked for a medium-well patty and they did it perfectly. The girlfriend particularly liked the buns because it's not 'buhaghag'. We later found out that it's a potato bun. How the hell do they make that? And whatever special sauce they used, it surely was superb. Plus Grabe the size of the burgers. We only got yung big and we were so full na. And they only serve one size of drink which is effing large, you can actually share it with someone. The fries and their onion rings aren't bad too.

We love Teddy's but 8 Cuts is still king for us. Teddy's is now close second. As in Sobrang close. Charlie's needs to bring back their game, or baka yung Wings with Punyeta sauce na Lang ang babalikan namin doon.

Oh before I forgot, I love Teddy's playlist! Sarap magbeach!

The beef is good. I don't like other burgers that have a lot of extenders. With Teddy's the patty you get is all beef. You get what you pay for

Basic burger house decor. I ordered Teddy's Basic Burger because I wanted to taste the beef without any distraction from their variants such as Hawaiian, bacon, mushroom, jalapeño, cheese, etc. The beef was very tasty, veggies were fresh, bun too flat like it collapsed when they assembled the burger. Price a little high compared to similar Brothers burger. Worth trying once.
