Another one of those pre-00's restaurants that thrived before the onslaught of foreign restaurant players. Tempura used to be king with their variety of tempura dishes even coming up with cheese and wasabi coated shrimp tempura. Unfortunately they already pale in comparison to other restaurants that serve the dish even if it is not their specialty. They are now in a smaller space, the ramen is OK but forgetful. The salad is as remembered, so it would still be on our 'to order' list if we visit again. But the tempura although properly coated was bland unless dipped in the tempura sauce. I have to commend the size, it was plump and crisp. We came in 15 minutes before closing and they still maintained good, commendable service. Will visit if on a budget or in the mood for nostalgia.

Senior cards honored. Recommended with reservation. For those who knows them, pre-Tenya years.

I love their ebi bacon maki and their ebi tempura. I didn't like their molten lava cake since it was dry and the chocolate filling was not satisfying.

Hubby & I used to frequent this place for their sushi, sashimi and agedashi tofu - As hubby learned to cook through the years 128513, he was able to prep these faves of ours at home. So last week, when kiddos craved Jap while we were in ATC, we decided to visit them again. Sadly, they don't serve agedashi tofu anymore. But everything else we ordered (in photo) was spot on!!

No picture for this one because I was hungry and just wanted to eat right away.

I ordered their Tori Karaage with 1 cup of rice. I found it normal. It was crispy but nothing really special. I liked the curry sauce though. I liked the kick that it gave the chicken every time I dip the chicken into it.

Also ordered miso soup. It's not free and it was not as good as other miso soup I tasted.

I also found the service not so good. I think it was slow especially when asking for the bill with SC discount.

I was actually craving for Yabu, but mother insisted that we eat here since it was closer to where she wanted to go to.

I find this place overpriced for the the quality and quantity of food they put out.

So I had my usual Salmon Sashimi and Maki. While everyone else had a bento box set and sukiyaki. The mayo they used didn't seem legit, in fact it tasted like lady's choice. Which was kind of disappointing since you look for that sweet mayo blend in Japanese joints. I guess they just ran out? Who knows.

The attendants in this place love to stay by the desk and chitchat that they don't realize that the few tables that ARE occupied are calling their attention. It took forever to get our bill and twice as long to get our change. Talk about slow. 128529

Instead of going to the usual Sushi and Japanese buffet which is normally crowded during peak hours of lunch or dinner, we decided to go to Tempura Japanese Grille instead. I become fairly satisfied with our ala carte order of tempura, california makki, and sukiyaki. Just enough to satisfy my Japanese cravings!

I've been craving for Sushi all week. Good thing this place is just so close.

I love how spacious the place is and how quick their service was today.

They also have group meals that is perfect for family dinners and barkada hangouts. But today, I'm going solo.

This was the 'I'm craving for Sushi week' and mom wanted to have a Tempura so it was a win-win situation. This is one of my favorite places for Japanese food, it's close to my house and the food is just awesome not to mention the prices are really great!

The place is really nice it's not that crowded so It makes me wonder why 5 waiters have a difficulty serving us. Oh well, you can't have it all.

P.S. The door isn't automatic. There's a hidden button. LOL.

I loved their Gyu Wafu Steak and Kaisen Raisu. The Ebi Tempura is also more filling than that of other Japanese restaurants I have previously tried. The milk tea was OK.

Considering the tight-crawl spaces, I'm guessing that this store can be crowded at certain times of the day.

Service was not that good. Serving time was longer than what was expected yet the crew always seems to be in a hurry.
