If you like steak but don't want to splurge too much money then try this place. Plain old steak that is ok and would somehow satisfy your cravings.

It was way past lunch time when we went to Shangri-la. With grumbling tummies, we decided to have lunch at Tender Bob's.

Without even reading the first line in the menu, we ordered Chicken Tenders, Original Recipe (PHP220) and Grilled Salmon with Tropical Salsa (PHP395).

The chicken tenders arrived first.

One thing I love about the chicken tenders/fingers of Tender Bob's is that the chicken is actually… well, tender. Unlike other restaurants, the chicken was not overly cooked to the point that the meat becomes dry. I also love the honey mustard dip.

Our salmon dish arrived next.

The salmon’s skin was a bit burnt but I didn’t really care since I don’t eat it anyway. The salmon was fresh and the salsa added flavor and texture to the dish. There was a bit of spice though.

The mashed potato also made the dish filling. The corns on the other hand were really sweet to the point that it could serve as dessert (and I meant it in the most positive way).

Overall, it was a nice meal.

American themed inspired restaurant.

We ordered their House salad fir starter. Fresh greens with candied walnut shredded carrots on a raspberry dressing. We love it since it is crunchy fresh.

I love my Grilled Salmon with tomato Salsa sauce (425 php) Had Angus rice on the side...salsa is sweet and little spicy.. Yum! Salmon is moist and cooked well. The hubby ordered Ribeye steak, starving size and well done. He paired it with mashed potato. He finished the entire serving himself. He rated his meal as 128077128077128077128077

For me, Tender Bob is a great place to have an affordable steak for hungry tummies .

I told myself that if my team and I made it to the Asian regionals after the nationals, I'd have a satisfying steak dinner to reward myself. After a two-week semi-intensive training for a competition we joined, I never did make it to the podium. I got sick the night before the competition, and so my business partner had to take my place. I have never felt so down before, but I still wanted to celebrate for making it as far as the nationals.

Tender Bob's was not my first choice, and neither was it the steakhouse I imagined celebrating in, even if I didn't qualify to the nationals. Ramon L and I were just hanging around Shangri-La Plaza and surveying the restaurants we have yet to try, until we settled for that instead.

Compared to the other restaurants, Tender Bob's was the only full one. We had to wait awhile, but it was only for a few minutes. We ordered the Chicken Tenders Buffalo Style (Php 270), the Tenderloin Steak Hungry (5 oz., Php 345), and the Pork Chops (Php 260).

I was unsure whether or not I wanted the Chicken Tenders in original over the buffalo style (my stomach had been acting up, and I didn't want an upset stomach during my date), so I asked for the buffalo sauce to be served on the side instead. This is the dish I loved the most, except I did prefer it in original, as I found the buffalo sauce to be sweet and spicy, whereas I prefer mine to be spicy and tangy. The chicken had a crispy, bread crumbs-like exterior. They served it with a honey mustard dip that I enjoyed.

I initially wanted the Ribeye, but when the waitress told me it was out of stock, I went for the Tenderloin which is "known for its tenderness, lean, and healthy." Well, I'll finally get to say what I've been telling others -- the tenderloin at Tender Bob's is not tender. I had this done in medium rare, but I found the steak to be quite tough. When I would slice through a piece, I'd end up pounding it too much that it looks like I spat it out even before I took a bite. Eek. I didn't even finish half of this until I got fed up with it.

Mon's Pork Chops is classified under "All-Time Favorites," but to me, it was just okay. He asked for steak rice instead of mashed potato, which was good because I love fried steak rice. Like the tenderloin, it was pretty tough and needed to be smothered in sauce to be really appreciated. Mon notes that the serving size is good for the price though, but of course, we wish it tasted better than it did.

Overall, it was a disappointing meal to end a disappointing day. Anyway, that's life! You win some, you lose some. I opted to give it a 3 instead of a 2 because of the Chicken Tenders and the Pork Chops, but that's about it for me. Not too keen about going back, so I probably won't.

In my book, they serve the best pork chops! The meat isn't dry and has just the right marinade. The gravy was delicious and complementing the taste of the meat. My sister and I split the serving because of an anticipated dinner, but if we didn't have that scheduled dinner we would each have ordered the dish!

We also ordered the potato skins, which was a delicious appetizer and a generous serving.

Interiors are homey, comfort feel together with comfort food. It might cost P300 - P500 per head, it's worth a treat.

We took the dad's in the family here tonight for a Fathers Day treat. Men like their steak!

I ordered:
- Prawn Bisque: this was great! I was craving for a seafood bisque, and this really hit the mark.
- Angus Ribeye Steak: I asked for a medium rare, but it came a tad too rare for me, so I asked if they could cook it just a bit more. The server came out with a medium well instead, which was just ok for me. The plus is she gave me a brand new plate, even if I had already finished the previous plate's side dishes. The BOMB side dish (potatoes) was soo good!

The free Father's Day dessert was delicious! It was a bread pudding topped with caramel and chocolate chips. 128076

Overall, Tender Bobs was just alright for me. The steak could have been better (especially since it is a steak joint).

Really loved the baby back ribs! 128077 super soft that you don't even have to use your knife. Melts in your mouth too128523

The side I chose from a selection of 3 was the mashed potatoes + gravy. My kind of mashed potatoes!!! Lumpy yet creamy, which means they made it from scratch.

The place was a bit small, we had to wait for customers to leave so a table can be availed, so don't expect to linger after eating. It was lunch time so busy talaga.
