We had bulanglang gulay and calamares, both good and not expensive.

After our Villa Escudero nature tripping, we decided to have lunch here so our friends can see the place as well. It was a 1.5 hour drive from Quezon to Talisay Batangas.

Our orders:

Chicken Binakol - we were expecting a Tinola like with buko, but what was served to us was a Chicken Curry like in buko shell. 128528

Puso ng saging - It was my first time to try puso ng saging simmered in vinegar and it was good, though they put a lot of pancit instead of puso to the dish. 128533

Pork sisig - Good thing they serve good sisig here. Crispy and crunchy sizzling pork sisig.

Daing na Bangus - Yummy! We got a healthy and tasty marinated fish.

Bulalo - Not on the photo since it we ordered it late and we actually should've not ordered it. The meat was so matigas and it did not actually taste like bulalo. Do not order it here. Better yet, go to Tagaytay and have authentic Bulalo.

We also ordered Carbonara for the 8-year old kid and he was able to finish the big serving in less than 10 minutes. I guess it was good. 128518

We got an average food for a pretty steep price. We paid almost 3k for all. Wow! I did not realize that when we first visited this place since we took their package, though their service was still as great as before. Kudos to their staff.

The place was so lovely. The magnificent eye-level sight of Taal Volcano was so relaxing. It was just the food and its price.

Hubby planned our stay here in Balai Isabel mainly because of their romantic dinner package. Unfortunately, there was a typhoon that day so we had our dinner in their Datu Wine room instead of the romantic gazebo setup facing Taal.

Datu Wine Room was very classic and cozy. Imagine a room with 1960’s radio, antiques, wooden interior, wine racks and lavish wine bottles. Not a bad dinner venue.

For our dinner, we had a 3-course meal with good house wine.

Appetizer – Potato soup with vegetables. Since I’m not a veggie eater, I consumed the “soup” and left the veggies.

Entrée - Steak with mashed potato, grilled shrimp and broccoli. Boy! It was heaven. It was the tastiest steak and shrimp I’ve ever had. I wanted to finish the whole steak but I’m already full.

Dessert – Frozen cheesecake topped with blueberries, whipped cream and cherry. Um… So-so.

Ralph loved their wine and wanted to have another glass, though we are only allowed to have one. He was given an unlimited Iced Tea instead. LOL! It was such a wonderful night for our anniversary. One year down and more to come! 128525128525128525

The main restaurant in Club Balai Isabel that offers buffet and a la carte. I ordered their Bagoong Rice, Chicken Binakol and Kare-kare.

The Bagoong Rice was delicious and was a perfect match to Chicken Binakol. It's cooked in coconut water but didn't overwhelm the taste. The Kare-kare was okay and would be better if the veggies were fresh.
