You can call me Chuckie, your chocolatey buddy. Yeah, that was my usual line back in College. It's just to emphasize that I truly love chocolates.

Angela Marie C was #FeelingBlessed and #FeelingGenerous last time that she gave us XXV and Funky Monkey from The Bakeshop by EDSA Shang. Between the two, I like the XXV better. The Funky Monkey was too sweet for me, and I'm not a fan of marshmallows. Nevertheless, both tasted good for me. Besides, hello free chocolates! 128513

P.S. More XXV please. 128586

To celebrate 25 yrs of EDSA Shangrila Hotel, they created:

• XXV •

This is their special edition chocolate bar. It's made of milk chocolate & cashew sansrival. MYGOODNESS. This is the kind of chocolate I will gladly order again and again and again. Not too sweet and has this rich chocolatey taste. I am the type of person who just wants plain chocolate. But tbh, didn't feel like there was cashew in it. So naging instant winner to sa akin 128077🏼128076🏼

We were also able to try Funky Monkey. It has marshmallows & crispies. To those who love marshmallows & crispies, you will surely like this. It's good but not a fan of marshmallows though hehe 9996🏼

Thank you Angela Marie C for letting us have a taste of these amazing chocolates!!! 128571

To commemorate EDSA Shangrila Hotel’s 25th year they created —

• XXV •
Special Edition Chocolate Bar
Made with Milk Chocolate & Cashew Sansrival

It’s soooo good. There’s a lot of chocolate in that bar. It’s smooth and creamy and chocolate-y. Not overly sweet. I loved the chopped cashews.

We were also able to try their own

Funky Monkey 128018

Made with marshmallows and crispies. The Nestle crunch bar has nothing on this.

Thank you Angela Marie C for hooking us up with these goodies 100841008410084

Thanks for the styling EJ B 128522

This is a salted caramel cake by edsa shangrila manila, the bakeshop! :) One sad thing, I couldn't really taste the "salted caramel" flavor. What I could taste is chocolate idk why. But on the plus side, it's still so delicious!! 128522

This is Edsa Shang's banana bread!! This is the best banana bread in town and I'm telling you, you went regret buying one! They have 3 options for their banana breads: chocolate, walnut, and plain. I recommend the chocolate one!! And btw the chocolate and walnut costs 230 pesos while the plain costs 180 pesos. They have a 30% discount 8pm onwards, fyi. 128521128512

Superb coffee... I love the chocolate eclair, the ensaymada and of course the ambiance!

I like the chandelier in the lobby, parang butterflies na maliliit... Specially now it's fully renovated! Simple is the best...

Please please! Whenever you have the chance to stay in Shang please grab one of these in their bakeshop. It's the chocolate fudge. 128525 They also have vanilla and fruit. Although I think nasaktuhan ko lang 'to. They usually got the macarons.

Been craving for their macarons since it's always flashed on their screens. Went to their bakeshop to grab some macarons. 128522

As we entered, place was so inviting since chocolates, breads, cupcakes and other sweets are all over the place. They also have souvenir items like postcards, pen, and the like. Their macarons are only mocha, pistachio, and strawberry. We got all three flavors. 128514 I'm really not impress though, but it still taste good. 128076 It's shell is crispy.

128205 My reviews are based on my experiences. Places are not all glam and glittery, they have flaws and cons, so don't expect stars poppin' on my page. And praises about this and that.

We have our own opinions and I guess that makes Looloo interesting, we could share our thoughts and comments about a thing or two. If you happen to hate what I said, no offense. That is what I think. That is what I know.

No hatin', just start eating. 128522

" THE bakeshop "

The bakeshop, true to its name,it is the bakeshop of Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. Once you enter the main entrance of the hotel, it is so easy to spot it at your left. The bakeshop sells of course a lot of different bread and chocolates. Occasionally they sell cold pasta, salad and sandwiches.

I got french macarons because it's my favorite. So I asked for their best seller and it was PISTACHIO, the taste is awesome. You can taste the real pistachio nuts and a after taste of creamy sweetness. Then the usual flavors are the mango and blueberry.

The only thing I don't like is it's too pricey, 80 each for a macaron. I mean all of the flavors here can be found on other stores that offers macaron.

PS. To preserve their freshness, they don't recycle any of their breads and salads. So
they have this PROMO which is every 8pm, everyday. They will make you choose if you want 50% off on each bread or the Buy 1 take 1. Chocolates and expensive pastries like macarons is excluded to this kind of promo.

For the few who love freshly baked Pretzels, EDSA Shangri-La's The Bakeshop makes the best! They have Salted, Cinnamon and my favourite- Cheese. Pretzels have this smoky flavor I always seem to crave. Best eaten of course with Beer!
