Their Chocolate Beer (Premium) is a brewed roasted beer with dark chocolate. It's ctually Cerveza Negra according to the waiter. To me it tasted of carbonated champorado drink sans the milk.

Visited the newest pub in Kapitolyo late last month mainly because of their chocolate beer.

The bar opens at 4pm so we decided to visit early to make sure we can score a seat and to avoid the crowd. True enough, almost all tables were occupied as early as 5pm. There were around 3 sets of table for 2 outside and tables for bigger groups inside. Be careful when finding this place though as the signage is not too big to be noticeable. It's as if it's trying to hide itself from the stretch of restaurants along Kapitolyo. Good thing my brother has a keen eye when it comes to beer. Lol.

The place is small, but I like the ambiance it gave. I would compare it to Rue Bourbon. They have this almost similar vibe. We decided to sit on the bar facing a large flat screen tv. It happened that Cristine (not sure if I spelled it right), gf of one of the co-owners was the one in charge as the cashier. When asked why Black Boar, she said that Pub names are commonly made up from senseless combination of words. She was nice enough to accomodate all our requests and queries.

We ordered 2 of their Chocolate Beer for Php99 per glass. When asked how they come up with the choco beer, they said that most pubs nowadays offer the caramel flavored ones and all other flavors except for chocolate. The chocolate syrup they used is s home-made one and is non-dairy because most people think that Choco Syrup and Beer wouldn't make such a good match.

I don't like beer even the caramel flavors or other flavors I've tried in Rue Bourbon or Tipsy Pig, etc. But I guess chocolate beer will do for me because the bitter taste is lesser. The choco beer smelled like cocoa-ish maybe because of the fact that it's non-dairy. One of the owners also offered us a free shot of The Black Boar mix which he made himself and I liked it.

Their food menu is something that I would go back for. Hihi. Everything is less than Php400 and you would be surprised with the serving! Also, all were served freshly made and hot!

🔶Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings - 127775127775127775127775127775- around Php260 and
served with lots of parmesan!!! I love chicken wings and I swear, theirs has the most generous serving of cheese. Haha.
🔶Sweet Barbecue Chicken Wings -127775127775127775127775- i think they used rib sauce which was a little awkward for me to be used with chicken, but it still tasted good!
🔶Calamares - 127775127775127775127775127775 - ftw! Can serve 4 pax for only Php280 if I'm not mistaken, serving is big, and comes with a garlic mayo dip! This one's super sulit!!!

I would love to try their Sausage Platter and House Chorizo next time. :) The music could be improved. I just hated that the table next to us is louder than the music. They play feel good old songs which made the visit perfect for chillaxing. They don't accept reservation per table for now, but they do reservation for the entire place. But who knows? You may want to try to contact them thru fb or instagram and inquire. One of my friends tried to visit recently and the place was jam-packed!

EDIT: Added the food menu in the photos. See the last one.
