Seriously now, guys i think The Black Pig has been waaayyyyyy too overlooked as a breakfast destination. Just take a look at these pictures! That plating, my goodness! I think these shots pretty much speak for themselves and sum up how beautiful the breakfast selection is at The Black Pig.

And they don't just look pretty, they taste great too! In terms of price, most of the items don't go above P500 and average within the P250-P350 range. Not bad at all!!!

I could really sense that a lot of attention to detail was placed in the presentation, ingredients, and overall quality of the dishes. Nothing, absolutely nothing, came out haphazard. When I ordered and thought I knew what sort of waffle, egg, and sausage breakfast would be served... wow, was I in for a surprise or what.

They've got something for about everyone on their breakfast menu: savory, sweet, healthy, pork, pastry... you name it! Breakfast starts at 8am and ends at 11am Tue-Sun. This is one relatively unknown morning gem i'd highly recommend!

Celebrated my 20th birthday here with family. Everything was great! Service was impeccable and the food was delicious.

Honestly expected servings to be on the small side, but they were huge. Great value for money. We ordered the Pork Collar Char Siu as a starter and had the Black Pig Charcuterie Board, as well. It was a good selection of meats, and we paired it with a pitcher of sangria to share. My brother ordered the Pork Belly, which was lovely. Tender and flavourful pork. I had the Striploin, which was great too. We also ordered the shrimp risotto, which tasted like the ocean haha. They surprised me with a chocolate hazelnut praline at the end of the meal.

The place is real pretty too! And they serve breakfast now!!!! Definitely coming back for that and their tasting menu.

Celebrated by Lola's 91st birthday here with my family! We were ~25, but we were all seated in a spacious, private-ish section of the restaurant.

I'm not sure of the names of most of the dishes we got since my Tita ordered in advanced, but here are my best takes on them -

Bread Basket: I think I'm notorious for my bread obsession. They served focaccia, a pandesal-like type, and a harder, complex-looking bread. I filled myself up on these cause they were that good. My table even got an extra one.
Organic Garden Salad: I loved this, and even my cousins that are anti-veggies seemed to enjoy (or at least, were able to swallow without puking) this! We had it with chicken, but you can also ask for shrimp!
Chickpea Biegnet and Mustard: If French fries and popcorn made a baby, it would be this.
The Black Pig Charcuterie Board: I felt very fancy eating this haha the components on their own are great, but when you eat them all together, it's a whole different story!
Mushroom Risotto: Not too fond of very creamy risottos, but this was an exception. But it did have an umay factor.
Slow Cooked Pork Belly: I don't normally like pork, so I was wary of this dish. But of course, The Black Pig would have excellent pork. The day was very melt in your mouth in ways that would make Gordon Ramsay proud.
Braided Ox Cheeks: First question: which cheeks of the Ox did they use?! 127825 HAHAHA kidding aside, I highly recommend this.
Rack of Lamb: My favorite for the afternoon! Fork tender goodness. I can't even.
I'd skip the dessert here though.. They're good naman, but maybe I wasn't able to enjoy it as much because I was stuffed 128514128514128514

Went a little fine dining with my family for my brother's birthday. The prices are pretty steep but you do get what you pay for from the ambience, to the service, and of course the quality of the food.

Wasn't able to do my "due diligence" and research what to order beforehand, so I wasn't sure if we ordered the right must-have's that evening.128513 Regardless, we still thoroughly enjoyed everything! You could really taste and see the amount of preparation put into each dish, but what I have to highlight is their pork belly. That is in a class of its own. The flavor and tenderness of the meat is something that The Black Pig pulled off really well. 128077

Love the ambience of the place. I was actually surprised that it's "hidden" in the Commercenter. Anyways, the servers are all nice. They made sure our needs are well attended to.

Now, about the food. We had Lamb Leg, Pork Belly, and Shrimp Risotto. I loved the lamb! It was so tender, the fork was enough to slice it. The risotto was good too but i didn't taste the chili. As for the pork belly, my friend liked it. I just ate the meat, and he took all the fat. 128584128514

We ha craft beers too. I just forgot their brands, but they tasted great. 1285139996

Power dinner with our company's prime movers and shakers! After a long day of planning, we took over Black Pig to sample their offers and down 2 bottles of 12 year old Glenlivet. My favorites among our orders were the Iberico Ham and Pork Belly.

I loved the salty flavor of the ham. I think the thinly sliced servings are key to this. It tempers the salt and also makes the ham easier to chew. I loved how the ham retains a perfect balance of dry and moist. Pair this with bread and you've got yourself a winner!

The Pork Belly is a masterpiece by itself. Definitely larger than what I am used to. Presentation makes it even more appetizing. The skin is crisp and crunchy while the meat is soft and tender. No need to add any sauce or dip as the dish is already chock full of flavor.

There were about 25 of us in this group so things were a wee bit noisy. No problem though for Black Pig because they seated us in an area that was easily converted into a private room. We had ample wait staff who were certainly attentive and friendly.

Nice experience overall!

The Black Pig is great! They serve you delicious food though it comes with a hefty price. For lunch, they have set meals that include salad, soup, main dish, dessert, and drinks (bottom photo). But you can also opt to just buy the main dish. Their food is good and their mashed potato is exceptionally amazing if you're into the creamy-milky taste of mashed potato. Downside is you'd think the serving is too minute. If you're hungry, this probably won't be the best place for you. It's just enough to fill your stomach for a little while.

Cozy place for "catching-up" session with friends. Not too crowded.

Great service 128077

Food "must-try": salmon 128077, prawn risotto, chocolate praline (divine) sangria, pork crackling (aka chicharon 128541). Nice food presentations.

Have you lost your hype? The place isn't as full anymore. Though this is just my second time here, I recall that there was a lot of talk about this restaurant for quite some time.

Holidays are spent eating with family. Mine seem to want to eat out during the holidays. My mom keeps asking me where to eat when she has the picky palate. I suggested TBP since it's a charcuterie. Nothing that cholesterol medicine can't fix for both her and my dad.

We ordered the charcuterie board. An array of five different kinds of meat of which I don't remember the names to. My friend Nico would kill me if I released this as he is a meat and tapas fan. The slices were thin and they melted in your mouth. Of this were paired with some wine and cheese, it would have been a perfect dining experience if you were out with friends. However, I was with my parents which brought us to order more food.

The terrine we found at the menu board was something my mother enjoyed. It reminded her of the pate sandwiches in Paris where they generously applied it. Am glad I suggested for her to read the specials.

But this wasn't enough to satisfy my dad's hunger. We had ordered the confit of seared tuna and the shrimp risotto to share. Without my brother in tow, my dad and I toasted to their draft beer. Pretty good I must say. I was surprised by the salad that came with the seared tuna, it paired very well with the tuna that it opened up your senses. The prawn risotto was also creamy without the potency of the prawn overpowering the rest of the dish where you'd want to put your fork down.

The resto gave us a free appetizer that tasted like the local 'pilipit' but on a much softer level. They also gave us free dessert in the form of ube marshmallows. Given the freebies, the food is still quite expensive. It seemed like we spent P1,000 per head or maybe close to that. I did enjoy what we ordered this time. I know I mentioned trying their cheese board or platter, but I just don't find that it will be worth your money. I'd want to do this at Terry's or prolly my house. Oh well! There are more places to try at commercenter.

If you're really hungry and want to eat a lot, I wouldn't recommend this place. Tho food was okay, the serving doesn't do justice to its price lang.
Haha or maybe because we ordered the set meals? Set meals have soup, salad, dessert, appetizer and the main course.

I ordered the Black Pig Burger (not a set meal) Not the juicy tender burger that I was expecting but it was big enough for one person.

Food is kinda fancy shamncy which is not really my thing haha. Maybe some of you might enjoy it.

Very nice, cozy place, and a bit secluded from the usual commercial centers. The place serves kinda schmancy food and is quite good overall. Area is very quiet and intimate, and rather full for an out-of-the-way place on a Sunday night.

We had a varied selection from their menu for our introductory visit. A few could have been a bit better, but most of them were great; among them were:

Sausage sampler - samples of bratwurst, cheese sausage and Hungarian sausage. My wife commented that the Hungarian was just like the ones she tasted in Hungary - fatty and tender, and mildly spiced, unlike others you find here. What I noticed is that they prepared the dish exactly to the right temperature to really appreciate the flavor and texture of the sausages. Good starter. 128077128077

Pan-seared scallops - really delicious, but only two pieces. Not really what you would consider value for money. 128077

Pork cracking - ok, but Lapid's can make ok crackling. Might even have actually come out of a Lapid's pack, IMHO. 128075

Slow-cooked pork - nicely cooked, but the "skin" was a bit burnt. The rest of it was good though. 128077128077

Kurobota pork - I'd think this is their signature dish. Perfectly cooked to a "blushing" state, the quality and flavor of the pork shines through (please do not think this is undercooked, I beg you). They also included white beans, red lettuce, black sesame seeds, and well as a sprinkling of the dark sludge left on the pan after browning (cooks will know what I mean). I'd consider this the most perfectly cooked pork I've ever had. 128571128571128571

Concluding, there is a little greedy voice at the back of my head that is prodding me not to submit this review, so this place can remain a hidden gem nestled in the quieter side of the hills of Alabang. Alas, I still have to laud The Black Pig for our wonderful meal. We will be back.

Birthdays should be celebrated with less hassle for the celebrator. At the black pig, we were greeted warmly by one of the servers who had good recommendations of the dishes we had in mind.
Being a charcuterie, the go-to would be black pig's charcuterie board paired with wine. Being the rebels we are we don't go for the best-sellers. Our appetites are meant for greater meals. Hence, we chose:

Pulled pork croquettes - a bit too crusty on the outside and lacked flavor when it got cold

Pan-seared scallops - three pieces of seared scallops that were cooked well but I missed the memo on what flavor it was. I sorta got confused. I like the garnishes more without the scallop. Weird.

Slow-cooked pork belly - two pieces of very tender pork belly with orzo. Mmmmm, not that I would want more though.

Rack of lamb - meeeat!! Meet Mary's pet! I was expecting the rack to be lined up but was sliced and scattered on my plate. It was tender and the garnish was tasty!

We got some sangria! Awwww yeah!!! That was the bomb! Sangria is 128525 But nothing beats the sangria at Stella.

For a bar, there are children around and most of the people are dressed in "southern" attire ie. Shorts, tees, relaxed fit trousers, khakis, etc. I'm already loving it here!

The table next to us was complaining that their food was taking so long. Maybe they noticed a lot of food being served on our table that's why theirs was slow? I think we just ordered a lot! 128522 I love their service especially of the server Keigh, she was helpful in explaining the food, filled out drinks regularly and she overheard us talking about a birthday and prepared a free cake!!! Yaaaaay! I think this was the chocolate praline mousse. And. It. Was. Heaven. I've been skipping the sweets lately because of all the sore throats, tonsil pain and allergies but I'm glad that I did NOT skip this!!! The cake might have been small BUT was light enough for you to finish it! I sensed a hint of hazelnut and some crunch in it - perfect!!

Ok, I'm going to go back and try the best-sellers - the charcuterie board, wine and their cheese platter. Wooohoooo!
