I loved the rendition of the Long Island iced tea. They used orange juice instead of lemon juice. The espresso martini was fantastic. Perfect use of rum. I ordered salmon croquettes but it wasn't available.

Got to taste several dishes - chicken liver pate, crispy salmon croquettes, pollo de la casa, and carrot cake. None of these really felt (in both taste and look) remarkable. I guess I was expecting more given that it's handled by a culinary school.

The place and prices looked fancy. I was double binded by Madeca and The Blackboard but I cahose the latter since I wanted to try something new.

I was the only customer and it was 5PM. Weird. Customers should start to drizzle in at that time.

I got their Off-the-Bone Baby Back Ribs and Hummus with brioche bun.

Service was fast but dining here felt like eating at a fast food chain.

The back ribs were very tender but they missed on seasoning. Although the meat was soft and well seared, it was tasteless. It was served with Ube mash that's way too sweet to be used as a side.

The brioche bun was really good! Sayang lang. Their hummus tasted like egg sandwich spread.

Stumbled into this place Easter Sunday. The bf was drawn in by the lamb shank.

For appetizers, we had:
The chicken liver parfait, which is basically pate - a bit bland, housemade gravlax - meh, prawns - actually pretty good.

For mains:
Lamb shank - it's offered with camote mash on the menu, but arrived with ube. The boyfriend found everything too sweet and unbalanced.

Fish and tofu - promising, but overwhelming after the first few bites. Sauce really did it in for me, i wish the fish and tofu hadn't been sitting in so much of it. Overall a bit too salty.
Sprigs of cilantro with everything.

The constantly changing menu is interesting to me, but I doubt we're heading back here.

Asparagus FTW! 128077
Ordered their fish and tofu for my main course, and it didn't disappoint. :)

Although, I'm not sure if the taste is spectacular enough to make the food worth the price... 128586128584

We held our event here last July. We had a customized buffet menu coordinated well to Chef Michel himself. Their food was great but the only problem was the space was just enough to accommodate 50pax. I just find it cute that there were little blackboards on their tables and all the chairs were tiffany chairs. I will recommend this to group who enjoys foods from CCA. 9996

Only thing I liked was the salmon. And thats only a 3-star grade.

The rest of what we ordered are so-so.

Service is very good though. Attentive staff.

Would probably try them again when they have new items in their menu.

Their babaganoush is refreshingly yummy and their 4hr braised beef is simply divine! Chef Michel even took his time and visited our table to make sure everything is fine. Friendly and approachable staff! Will definitely comeback. Need to improve their iced tea though. The lipton is very dominant. Needs more lemon and perhaps honey/sugar syrup

I can't decide if it's a good thing that the menu changes everyday. I had my lunch here for 3 straight days because of an office event and food was a hit and miss.

Loved the chili, but found the crabcakes too salty. Blue marlin lacked flavor too. The Asian stir-fried dishes were also a tad disappointing. The chef is very friendly though. He goes from table to table to get feedback from customers, so hopefully, food will improve.

My family had our dinner here, and we tried few appetizers and mains from last Saturday's menu. I had a favorite, the sautéed clams! I'm not a fan of pork or beef, that's why I enjoyed the clams very much. Baba ghanoush, Chicken liver pate, and Chili Con Carne came out perfect too. Overall, I love everything I ordered. I wanted to try a lot of dishes, but I reminded myself that I'm on a diet. So I pictured Fat Bastard in my head! HAHA

The Blackboard has a good location, good crowd in Podium mall, creative interiors, but the service was a bit slow. Understandable though, since they only opened a week of the new concept.

So yeah, Great work Chef! I will definitely come back again and try other things on the Blackboard!
